how does the reading comprehension of tumblr users match up against the students you teach

look.....I may have 1 or 2 students in my younger classes that have issues e.g. 14 year old who will always end up working on the wrong google classroom post because he didn't watch and listen when I showed them where to find the work, 15 year old who wrote his whole exam about the wrong thing because "I didn't realise there were essay questions at the top of the page"

however. these are young teenagers. who are still learning that skill. and sometimes it's my fault for not making instructions clear enough. most of this is down to clear instructions, and other issues of auditory processing from students (and me talking too fast)

you lot get to go back and double check, reread what you're commenting on, think it over, THEN send the ask. and I assume most of you are over the age of 14 so.....

I think the main issue is people not caring if they've read things correctly here. they have the option to, for example, check the FAQ and choose not to, because they can't be bothered. and honestly, whatever you do you, but don't get pissed when I put you on blast and make fun of you for asking why there's a subsection in the bracket

Just saw a video of a white American girl "Explaining to her white American boyfriend how the man-or-bear thing works" where she asks him if he would rather fight a bear, or shower in a prison shower, and he goes grey and goes "oh no I get a horrible feeling in my tummy thinking of being trapped in a prison shower with those thugs!" And she says that's good that he's feeling now how women feel all the time and all I can think is... Mate that is just your racism, your idea that the "thugs" in the imaginary prison would immediately want to (implied: sexually) violate you, your mental image of Black and racialised men as being harder to reason with and get along with than a literal bear, isn't a sign of you being a good and sweet and empathetic boyfriend, and your girl immediately picking imagined sexually violent Black men as the Scary Thing, it's a sign that both you and your girl are racist.

Hey, just so anyone whose mind isn't rotted by video essayists knows: The anti-LGBT film Lady Ballers produced by the Daily Wire was supposed to be a documentary. The original plan behind the film was that they were going to actually get a bunch of men to dress in drag and enter into women's sports, then record the results.

However, the barrier of entry for trans women to qualify for admission into women's sports proved to be prohibitively high, and they couldn't find any men willing to go the extra mile in undergoing hormone therapy and transitioning to the point they met the criteria for admission.

The Daily Wire accidentally disproved and discredited the entire concept of "men in women's sports", and were forced to turn the film into a shitty piece of comedy fiction instead.
