alyrie would've told one of those shitty men to stand up and give alicent a seat at aegon's celebration thing whatever it was
#alyrie would have snatched her daughter away before Viserys could marry her actually but#that's another point#she'd drag otto or viserys from that chair before letting her pregnant daughter stand up while holding baby aegon#toddler aegon whatever he was#she does not care if viserys is king!!#probably for the best she died she'd be getting in trouble /j#❀ ooc.

𝐌𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐄𝐕𝐀𝐋 𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐆𝐍𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐘

A meme surrounding family planning, pregnancy & childbirth best suited for medieval & fantasy setting. Feel free to change whatever you need to make the prompts suitable for you!
“Our marriage has not been consummated yet. How am I supposed to produce an heir?!” “The midwife advised me to sleep with you on a full moon for fertility.” “We have tried to conceive a babe for many years, but the Gods have not blessed us with one yet.” “You are still young. This loss only means we will try again.” “I hope this time we will be blessed with a child that lives.” “Will you be disappointed if it is not a son?” “This is not their first child and they have failed to produce and heir so far.” “She is with child, but remains unmarried. A scandal!” “Rumor has it that she is not pregnant by her husband, but her lover.” “We need to have an heir. I know you do not wish to share the bed with me, but we must try for the sake of our families. It is our duty.” “It is a woman’s duty to give her husband children. You are not excluded from that.” “She only had a babe a year ago and is pregnant again. If they continue like that, the poor girl will be spent by 25.” “I think I might be with child.” “I think you might be with child.” “How does one know when a child has taken root in the womb?” “You have been sick a lot recently. Might you be with child?” “We have prayed for this babe for years and the Gods have finally answered us.” “You look more beautiful with each day you carry my child.” “She has been positively glowing for someone so close to childbirth.” “You should rest, my dear. Let me help you sit somewhere.” “Do not over exert yourself. It is bad for the babe.” “The babe will be the best King/Queen our kingdom has ever seen, I have no doubt.” “I never wished to father children, but now that I look at the swell of your stomach each day, I cannot wait to be a parent.” “Confinement has been one of the more dull experiences of my life.” “Are you well? You look pale. Is it time?” “Since when have you been in pain? I think we ought to call for the midwife.” “Has no one told you how labor starts, child? Your babe is coming.” “Hold my hand and breathe. You are doing very well. It will be over soon.” “Get the birthing chair. The babe is stuck and we need gravity’s help.” “I do not want strangers in the room. Please dismiss everyone, but the midwife.” “Is this amount of blood normal?” “Would you like to take a hot bath to ease the pain?” “I do not expect you to stay in the birthing chamber with me. I know it is no place for a husband.” “The Queen is in labour. Let us hope the child will live this time.” “They say the babe is not coming and we might lose them both.” “You have to be strong now, or you might lose the babe.” “There is too much blood. Something is not right.” “It is just a bit of childbed fever. She will recover.” “The babe is small and weak. You should not get your hopes up.” “What a wonderful blessing, it is a son!” “They say an heir is what a man desires, but a daughter was what I truly needed.” “I’m afraid it is not over yet. There seems to be another babe on the way.”

@crumbledstatues asked ; “People are born great but yet need to grow into greatness” - from Alicent (hi mom! ❤️❤️❤️)
"not everyone has the chance to grow into it, nor does everyone wish to, i imagine." her gaze lingers upon the boys down in the courtyard below for a handful of seconds longer before it returns to her own daughter. she reaches out to tuck a stray lock of hair behind her ear, hand coming to cup her cheek before allowing it to drop away again.
"it is hard when you have to watch your own children following whatever path they end up taking." there is much she might have changed for her children, had she been able to, had her voice been heeded over otto's. she knows the worry that comes with misliking the situation they find themselves in. "they are still young, they haven't had to bear the weight of any responsibilities as yet. they will grow when the time is right, when they must. try not to worry yourself too much when they are far from perfect. they don't need to be perfect."
#context? i don't know her#alyrie vc: it's okay if the grandchildren are a bit chaotic#she just wants to protect her daughter from all the hardships of motherhood#crumbledstatues

@quccninchains asked ; “Why do I feel so ashamed?”
hands reach for those of her daughter's, drawing them into her lap and holding them, gentle yet secure with her touch. how it pained her to see alicent like this, to only be able to offer gentle words and kind touches rather than solutions. she misses more than ever living in oldtown, when the biggest problems her children faced were gwayne's scraped knees and the hairbrush catching in alicent's hair and pulling too harshly.
"it's the nature of this world that we're in." she starts, voice gentle as her thumb traces gently over alicent's knuckles. "women are made to feel shame for all they do. our wants, our choices, the choices of those around us. i wish i could have shielded you from it all for longer."

@rejectory asked ; "His reign has been anything but traditional." Otto
"traditional reigns do not begin with a hasty coronation and the murder of a son. he has not had the opportunity to reign the traditional way even if he should have wished to." a hand reaches out to catch onto one of his, before he might set to pacing again, his motions only serving to make her agitated alongside him. her fingers enclose around his hand, a gentle pull to draw him towards where she sits upon sofa.
"he is not his father, otto. if you wish to exert your influence, you will have to learn what aegon responds best to. what young men enjoy being told what they should do by their grandsire, even more so when they wear a crown?"

@usyrps asked ; ❝ you’ve heard these tidings of my grandsire? ❞ he's coming to complain to grandmother abt him <3
the evening prior had been all-consumed by otto's ire, alyrie sitting back as he paced, his ranting and lamenting of foolish decisions and senseless idiots allowing her little opportunity to begin soothing or resolving the root of such upset. there had been mention of returning to oldtown but that much she had dismissed. some slights are best forgotten in the face of everything else that occurs around them. otto may do as he wished but she would call that a more foolish choice. it is not the time to turn backs upon family.
turning from window upon the sound of her grandson's voice, a gentle smile tracing her lips at the sight of him. never has there been a moment where he, or his siblings, have been unwelcome company. feet carry her in a few swift steps to aegon, a hand briefly cupping his face before leading him gently towards sofa.
"i have heard everything from your grandsire himself. which is to say, i imagine it was a little distorted compared to what you might recall." she hardly feels the need to hear a recounting of the tale from aegon himself to uncover the truth of it all. otto's recollection was tainted with anger, and a lack of empathy, but she doubted he had altered the base facts. still, alyrie would not prevent aegon from telling her all over again if he wished to.
"he never does take well to being opposed. he is unused to you having the freedom to do so, as well, i'd say. he forgets what it means when he put that crown on your head."

✦ * ・ ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯ 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐭. a random assortment of sentences taken from j.r.r. tolkien's "the lord of the rings" and "the hobbit". also includes movie quotes. change pronouns if needed.
‘ even the smallest person can change the course of the future. ’ ‘ your time will come. you will face the same evil, and you will defeat it. ’ ‘ if more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. ’ ‘ it is useless to meet revenge with revenge: it will heal nothing. ’ ‘ despair is only for those who see the end beyond all doubt. we do not. ’ ‘ memory is not what the heart desires. that is only a mirror. ’ ‘ i would rather share one lifetime with you than face all the ages of this world alone. ’ ‘ there's some good in this world ... and it's worth fighting for. ’ ‘ all we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us. ’ ‘ who knows? have patience. go where you must go, and hope. ’ ‘ don't adventures ever have an end? i suppose not. someone else always has to carry on the story. ’ ‘ you are the luckiest, the canniest, and the most reckless man i ever knew. ’ ‘ i can't carry it for you, but i can carry you. ’ ‘ courage is found in unlikely places. ’ ‘ it is not the strength of the body, but the strength of the spirit. ’ ‘ you can not hide, i see you! there is no life after me. only death! ’ ‘ no, thank you! we don't want any more visitors, well-wishers or distant relations. ’ ‘ i can avoid being seen, if i wish, but to disappear entirely, that is a rare gift. ’ ‘ you'll find more cheer in a graveyard. ’ ‘ you have no authority here! your orders mean nothing! ’ ‘ i wonder if we'll ever be put into songs or tales. ’ ‘ it is no bad thing to celebrate a simple life. ’ ‘ if we didn't do everything we weren't supposed to, we'd hardly do anything at all. ’ ‘ i'm glad to be with you ... here at the end of all things. ’ ‘ go back? no good at all. go sideways? impossible! go forward? only thing to do. on we go! ’ ‘ i'm going on an adventure! ’ ‘ i like visitors, but i usually get to know them before they visit. ’ ‘ i do believe the worst is behind us. ’ ‘ true courage is knowing not how to take a life, but when to spare it. ’ ‘ i'm sorry i doubted you. ’ ‘ although i must admit i have told you the truth, i might not have told you all of it. ’ ‘ can you promise that i'll come back? ’ ‘ the world is not in your books and maps. it is out there. ’

❝ He has a different part to play. ❞
❝ Do you remember the words of your vow? ❞
❝ I am not afraid to die. ❞
❝ What do you mean? ❞
❝ If we are taken, you must yield. ❞
❝ No. Never. I won’t. ❞
❝ You will. I command it of you. ❞
❝ You must not balk, whatever is asked of you. ❞
❝ Do as they bid you, but in your heart, remember who and what you are. ❞
❝ I do not want to play the oathbreaker, even for a good reason. ❞
❝ I’ll do whatever you ask. ❞

KNOCK - KNOCK PROMPTS.
listen i recently became obsessed with the amount of television shows that have a mystery person knocking on the protagonist's door as a major finale cliffhanger, and it got me thinking, and now we have this list that a few immensely talented people helped me with! that said, we know the drill by now. DO NOT ADD TO THIS LIST OR CLAIM IT AS YOUR OWN! IF YOU HAVE IDEAS FOR MORE PROMPTS SEND THEM TO ME AND I WILL ADD THEM!
