i strongly believe that it's better to take aspirin of a known dosage than to take some willow bark with an unknown amount of active compound that could also just be sawdust from an unrelated tree. like that's just factually correct. medical science is real and the supplement industry is an unregulated nightmare of mostly scams. but. the thing is. if, in order to get aspirin, i had to schedule an appointment where i tell my doctor that my friend said i might have a headache (because i can't just say i have a headache without being treated like a googlemad hypochondriac). and then the doctor nodded and ordered a bunch of expensive tests that have very little to do with my head and a lot to do with the size of my ass. and the tests all came back fine so he shrugged and asked if my head hurt and when i said yes he prescribed me some aspirin while emphasizing he didn't know if it would help but i could give it a shot if i really wanted. and if i had to do that every time i wanted some aspirin. i would probably start eyeballing the willow bark. to be perfectly honest with you.

okay. possible kidney infection. something is going on with my kidneys. i sure feel not so good. i am going to just stand in front of this train and let myself have a sick day while i wait for my doctor to look at my results and call me or something, but i'm also going to fiddle with some things so i don't go actually insane. yay for the wedge pillow that i got at the beginning of all this so i could sit up in bed on my laptop.
#admittedly i've been watching playthroughs of sh2 in between playing sh2 because i am very normal about feeling sick for this fucking long#picking at some books even though reading is hard. finally getting around to house of leaves.#gonna work on writing this short story#maybe i will do some drawing later? been practicing gestures which has been fun#guy accidentally gets addicted to drawing artistic nudes#been having fun reading about armenian (and other non-latin) typography too#i need to learn to read armenian...#should go for a walk around the block this evening#should probably put in an order for some groceries to pick up today or tomorrow#and do some dishes#it's literally fine

Prehistoric 'Swimming' Reindeer Mammoth Tusk Carving, 'Ice Age Art Now' Exhibition, Cliffe Castle, Keighley, Yorkshire
Posed with their chins up, antlers tipped back, and legs outstretched, the reindeer appear to be swimming as they do when crossing lakes and rivers on migration. This made the best use of the tapering tip of the mammoth tusk. The wavy lines on the male's face may represent water.
