Sakamoto days X pokemon AU

First a disclaimer: I'm not a hardcore pokemon fan, so maybe you'll find some errors, i only played until gen 5 so after this I'm not familiar, I used the wiki to info about it. All the information in this au is based on the Bulbapedia.

I would love to discuss about that, so feel free to share your opinions about what Pokemons and types which characters would have. This is only my perspective so enjoy ^^

This is going to be soo long, I tried to explain everything so you can enjoy even if you are not into pokemon. I tried the most to make them without legendary/mythic pokémons.

I tried to give a type to each character and at least one pokemon. It's not the main pokemon, it's only to give a ideia haha.

Order

As the strongest, they would be the elite of the pokemon trainers. Shishiba, Osaragi, Hyo and Nagumo would be the elite four, takamura is the champion league and kamihate would be a secret member of the elite four.

For Shishiba he would be steel type cuz of the hammer and have a aagron, they are both strong in physical

Osaragi would be ghost/dark type because of her vibe (even she is afraid of ghosts). Chandelure match her goth outfit, as for Mimikyu, it looks scary but is a soft on the inside

Hyo is more physical so the fighting type would match him better. Just like his Pokémon, he built himself up. This little guy evolved to the point that he can carry two stone blocks

Nagumo would have funny pokemons who helps him play pranks, so I give him some shape-shifting pokemons like ditto and zoroark. He would play around in the beginning of the battle "haha pranks ^_^" until his ass get serious

I'm not sure about Kamihate type lol, but I give him a intelion cuz the gigantamax form it become a sniper

About Takamura I was researching about Pokemons with swords, it was written that Aegislash has good stats of attack and defense, and this kinda fit him. In the manga people always comparing Takamura to a ghost so this explain the type.

Sakamoto's Market

Sakamoto would be a normal/fighting type because he uses anything. He used to be in the elite four, now he's retired and runs a poke mart. Osaragi compared him to a teddy bear, so he owns one, it's like him: big, cute and strong!

For Shin I thought about him being psychic/ fighting type, because of his esp and fighting skills. Asakura gave a ralts to Shin when he was a kid. And for the yamper is because he likes dogs and I wanted to give him mochi (I know yamper it's based in a corgi but there is no pokemon based in Shiba Inu😭)

The Fighting type fits Lu perfectly. For her I tried to incorporate elements for China, pancham is a panda (China's national animal icon) and mienshao is inspired by Kung Fu.

To be honest, I only picked a similar bird to be Piisuke

Hana would have her parents influence, so it make her normal/fairy type. Stufull (the pre evolution of Sakamoto's pokemon) would be a gift from him, and Flabébé would be a gift from aoi. According to the wiki, the final form of this Pokémon can heal the body and spirit, like Hana's smile. Plus, it's a flower, which fits Hana's name

Like blissey and audino, Aoi care and heals those in need (like she did with Shin)

JCC kids

In the manga Amane uses the same weapon as his dad, so he would be the same type too.

Natsuki would be electric/steel cuz of his weapons inventions. Luxray have the same hair of natsuki, it would be a nice lab partner to him. As for Pikachu, Natsuki would keep a Pikachu because it reminds him of Shin (Yearning final boss)

Mafuyu would be water type because of the hygiene issue, I was looking for water Pokemons relate with blades, Samurott would be a good option to him.

To follow the canon Kaji would have pokemons with sound abilities, like crobat (who uses sounds to locate things) and Whismur (they're timid and easily frightened by loud noises)

Since the canon showed Akira with butterflies, she would be bug/grass type. It would be funny if she and Rion had the same Pokémon but with different final forms. For her, I would choose Beautifly. Despite the look it says in the wiki is very aggressive, is like when Akira get all serious.

Toramaru and tinkaton are literally the same: pink girls with big weapon!!

I just think ninetales fits Uzuki perfectly, his entire outfit screams ice type

For Kumamomi I gave her a pokemon with magnetic just like her powers

Gozu it's obviously why the type, but I'm not sure about his pokemon would be

To be honest, I only gave Uda fire because of the bomb...

Gaku is physically strong, people always associate dragon with strong type, so it would be perfect for him. I tried to find some dragons with red details to match his red eye line, some options: salamance and haxourus

I'm not sure about Tenkyu type but I gave him decidueye cuz of the bow

Haruma says in the canon that he is not good at marcial arts so I looked for pokemon who are relates with ball games, cindarede is based in football

Kashima would be steel because of his body, I just give him a deer pokemon lol

JAA and relates

Rion is a gym leader, she turned down the offer to join elite four to stay with Akira in their city. It would be fun to her to be bug type because people will doubt, then she'll beat their asses. Rion likes to have fun in battles but wouldn't stand elite four things. She would be the type of leader who isn't always present, so you have to find her to battle

Gave a mawile to Yotsumura because of what happened with him mouth...

Talonflame is fast, Kindaka is fast

I remember in the anime people saying that xatu can see the future and the past, people uses them for fortune telling. It's exactly what jaa has been using Atari for.

Adicional notes

Asakura is a pokemon professor

Yotsumura is Shishiba's and Amane's mentor, so they are all the same type

Kashima is one of the leaders of the evil team

Uzuki is like Giovani (for those not familiar with the game, he is a gym leader and the game's villain)

Al kamar would be gym liders

Saka siblings would still working in the market

All JCC kids and saka siblings would have an Eevee evolution

Nagumo would compare shishiba with a Dugtrio (alolan form) to make him mad

This is a Dugtrio (Alolan form)

For the other characters who aren't here, I haven't thought about it. Maybe I'll add something later
