A suit for Vyjayanthimala in Vazhkai (1949). Given the clip I think passing herself of as a man is played in jest:)
Vazhkai was remade in Hindi as Bahar (1951) and like with many remakes there is a bit of a costume shift - the Hindi version has the actress in jodhpurs and a safa/pheta kind of turban (see 1:23:10).
Such differences in attire extend to many parts of the film e.g. the costumes of the song of the Hindi version which include ghahgras and churidar-kameez and that of the Tamil version featuring the sari and half-sari.
