I think the funniest possible answer to "what happened to the other half of the pair of gloves that Akechi threw at Joker" is that Akechi has one pair of gloves for each day of the week (autism) and he can't just buy a new pair to wear that day because (1) that would be Wrong (autism²) and (2) it would defeat the purpose of the duel feeling inevitable, the pair being split, he's lost something, they must duel again and until then a piece of himself is gone (gay). So now every Tuesday he's forced to wear just one glove like an absolute freak.
