i’m 100% team rhaenyra but aemond could definitely get it. 🫠 is it because his swag or because he’s cruel? the world will never know.

You know whats wild to me, the fact that atB stans (specifically Rhaenyra stans) are so adamant that she wouldn't harm her siblings.
Cause there was not ONE scene of her saying that to ANYONE or speaking through her actions that she wouldn't harm or kill her siblings. She didn't give ANY of the Greens reason to believe she wouldn't harm or kill them. In fact she literally said Aemond needed "sharply questioned" which back then meant torture the person to get info. And I'm not sure how people can sympathize with her when this is what Aemond looked like when she said this and doubled down on her sons innocence.
Oh and then you add in the fact no one brought up that Aemond called them bastards. That it was Jace that did to Rhaenyra. Rhaenyra didn't need to bring that up, she was just trying to turn blame when a insult isn't nearly a good enough reason for Jace and Luc to take Aemonds eye! She was grasping at straws so her sons wouldn't be punished when Viserys probably was only gonna make them lose their dragons for a while or some shit like that. She had NO REASON to bring that up, and I'm tried of people saying she had to cause she didn't.
So needless to say, all of their experiences with her have only been her disregarding their duty as they get yelled at by their father and mother for not doing theirs. And her not caring they got hurt, and infant wanting them to be hurt. That doesn't show them or Alicent she doesn't want to harm them, it only sodilifys that narrative for them.

Problems I have with HOTD so far:
• not letting Alicent be actually evil. Y’all already hate her for being a GOOD person, I can’t imagine how y’all would handle an actually evil queen. I wish she killed Viserys and made Aegon heir Herself!
• no perspective of small folk, closest we have is Criston who is still more well off then 90% of king’s landing. In GOT we got small folks perspectives on their rulers a lot and I hope we get that soon.
• taking away Helaena’s autonomy. Making her the cute autistic girl who does no wrong is such a bastardization of her that it’s laughable.
• casting with specifically Laena. Do not get me wrong, the actresses are gorgeous and Amazingly talented, but because they aged her up during Rhae’s wedding it makes her look even older than Rhae even tho they have at least a 3 year age gap.
• “and now they see you as you are” WHAT? They see a woman drop all decorum for her child? She their queen willing to personally handle situations? Like I genuinely do not know what this is suppose to mean.
• bulldozing the Velaryon family. Rhaenys does nothing when both her children die to the hands of the targs, no one does anything when Vaemon dies, even when Rhae tries to make Luke the lord of the tides no one brings up that his fiancee should be the true lord not him.
• the new promo saying “[team black] acts more like a family” maybe my family is weird but we don’t fuck each other or marry each other at all
• only truely giving team black’s dragon’s personality. We know Vhagar’s SLIGHTLY but Dreamfyre and Sunfyre are nothing right now
• no Alicent birth scene. We get multiple traumatizing birth scenes but the woman who was a mother of 3 before 20 doesn’t get one? Ok
Will add more as I think of them

Team Black: We are all so well adjusted 🥰 and kind and loving and pretty 🥰 and our incest bloodline is purer than your incest bloodline 🥺 and the King said we got the throne so there 🫶🥰
Team Green: Anyways we all have family trauma and cycles of abuse we cannot escape, tons of hate in our heart and the unquenchable desire for vengeance, & the toxic codependent loyalty we have towards one another does in fact start rebellions. Also our dragons are bigger and we don’t really give a fuck what that old man had to say 🤪🤪🥵

after being bullied for YEARS for not having a dragon, it's more than deserved that he gets the most important one alive!!
and DO NOT come at me with the "he could've waited till rhaena had her turn cuz her mother died"
daemon's daughters didn't give a f about him and he didn't give a f about them too, so if the situation was reversed; they would not wait either AND would be worshiped for it.
"he stole her","he's not worthy"..
srsly, team green does not have that much of advantage, their biggest weapon is Vhagar. And team black still envies that.
Brains of team black simply won't admit that Vhagar herself chose Aemond, there literally no other way. Vhagar herself chooses who is worthy of her, not public opinions. Denial of these people is heavy.
Yeah, he was chosen and he had the biggest dragon, eat it. It did not save him anyway, so for what is this whinning?

honestly, i could make an essay about how I LOVE to see people with good arguments making their point 🤝🏻
I don’t understand the fandoms love for Daemon, by all rights he should be as hated as Joffrey was. Not only did he do almost everything Joffrey did, he also did worse. Even Tywin wouldn’t hold a candle to his cruelty. I understand liking a villainous character, I do too with Cersei and Tywin, but I’ve never went out of my way to whitewash their characters. I love them because they are villainous and practically irredeemable, if team black stans liked Daemon for his villainous actions before and during the Dance of Dragons I wouldn’t have any problems with it. But the fact that they go out of their way to defend him killing Rhea Royce because “he was forced into a marriage he didn’t like!!!!” As if she wasn’t too. And the fact that they defend him sending Blood and Cheese to psychologically torture Haelena and kill Jaehaerys due to “a son for a son it’s only right” when they despise Alicents moment of madness when her son was denied justice, makes me want to hurl.
It’s alright to like villainous characters, it doesn’t make you a bad person if you like them. But you know what makes you a moronic person? Whitewashing everything that makes a character compelling because you want to like them without seeming like a ‘bad person’. Your opinion on a character does not determine your own morality, it doesn’t make you better or worse than someone who hates them. But what it does, when you erase their entire identity as a rouge to make them more palatable to you, is make you seem moronic, stupid, and lacking any critical thinking and reading comprehension skills.
Rhaenyra is a compelling character because she is entitled and spoiled and lacks any political experience, she shows how badly Viserys fucked up when he tried to compensate for his guilt of murdering Aemma. Alicent is a compelling character because she is a mother who is trying her best to protect her children from the reality that if Daemon took the throne for Rhaenyra, he would kill all of them because they are a threat. She is even more of a compelling character in the books because of her ambition and cunning and want for her family to rise far above the ‘station’ of being a noble house in the Reach (as if house Hightower aren’t the oldest house in Westeros who could trace their lineage back to both the Garth Greenhand the high king of the first men and the Andal Kings that came afterwards). Daemon, for all that I dislike him as a character, is compelling for his ruthlessness and shortsightedness in his pursuit of the throne. He didn’t raise an army for Viserys because he thought he was a competent leader, he did it because it raised his own standing within Westeros, he groomed Rhaenyra not because he loved her, but because having him in her good graces means that he stood a better chance of being king after she was named heir. His ruthlessness is compelling. Taking it away to make him into a ‘malewife’ or a ‘loving father’ or a man who is lacking any ambition beyond wanting a valyrian wife is taking away his agency. It makes him seem like a Gary Sue who only wants the throne because his brother said Rhaenyra was heir. It makes it so that he is so completely white bread like that not even I, someone who loved the more morally bankrupt characters in ASOIAF can find him agreeable in any way shape or form.
Daemon is a fundamentally morally bankrupt character and he should stay that way. If you like him you should acknowledge and accept that he is one of the ‘bad guys’. Just as Cersei fans acknowledge and accept that she is fundamentally a morally bankrupt person who is selfish to the extreme. We like morally black characters because they are morally black. To make excuses for their actions is to take away their agency which makes them unlikable and very hate-able.
Daemons actions aren’t justifiable, blood and cheese would never be justified. A son for a son is akin to the visceral disgust the fandom had to Alicent when she asked for Lucerys’ eye, yet I bet when season two comes out and Blood and Cheese happens we’d see Daemon fans applauding and trying to justify it as ‘not that bad’ and ‘team green deserved it because of Aemond’s actions’ when little Jaehaerys, a boy of 6, was as far removed from the incident as can be. It would be akin to Team Green saying that due to Jaehaerys’ death, Aegon III or Viserys II deserved to have their head cut off in front of Rhaenyra.
Let morally bankrupt characters be morally bankrupt. You aren’t morally bankrupt because you like said character, it’s a fictional story loosely based on Empress Matilda. It’s not that deep. Like the characters you like without trying to justify their actions. They might be monstrous but you aren’t because you like them. It’s not a measure of your own character because you like said character. But it is a measure of your intelligence when you try to change said character’s entire personality to make it so that they are more digestible to you and everyone else.

they're just insane (in their absolute right to be) and i'm here for it!!
I just can't sympathize with the blacks. They are all so serious, with straight backs and honor in their eyes, they make solemn speeches and it's so...boring. And the greens at this time? Absolute chaos. Aegon giggles as he declares war. Aemond wants to duel with his uncle, having no experience in it. Their family relationship is crazy, they're wreaking havoc and I love them for it. The greens just have a lot more interesting dynamics and complex characters, they are fascinating to watch. Sorry, I don't make the rules.

it's even more interesting when you think about the whole 'the idea that we control the dragons is an illusion' dynamic!! 'cause viserys made it look as if rhaenyra's "humbleness" towards their power was the main reason why he named her heir, but then she just acted completely opposite to it and became just as self-entitled as daemon and that was her doom.
Daemon taught Rhaenyra that they're dragons who take what they want, who they want, when they want and that they're justified because they're better than everyone else because of their heritage. Then we see Rhaenyra embody this ideal: taking sex from a reluctant Criston to satisfy her needs and then tossing him aside, coming up with the "dine as we please" proposal that resulted in obvious bastards, sleeping with Daemon the same night as his wife's funeral, using her illegitimate children to unlawfully take Driftmark from the Velaryons, in the books feeding Vaemond to her dragon because he questioned her. Targaryen superiority is imbedded into Team Black's MO and for the most part the show and general audience uncritically lap it up. But are we really supposed to root for and justify the idea that a group of people is superior because of their racial makeup, and therefore the pursuit of their goals and desires is justified above all else, even if others are hurt in the process? Even if they have to use fear and violence to maintain their power over others?

helaena is without a doubt the most innocent tg character, but that does NOT make her stupid!! do people honestly think that she won't be able to take part for the family that cared for her, unlike her old rapist of a father and self-centered sister?! hell no.
i REALLY wanted the producers to give her some battle scenes or atleast one scene flying dreamfyre, since they were capable to do it for rhaenyra (as we see in the trailer). my girl deserves it, fr!!
Ok so I’m not trying to call anyone out or insinuate things but I really don’t like it when people have “oh my god poor helaena she doesn’t want to be at the funeral she doesn’t want to hurt team black her trauma is being exploited by her evil bitch mother and brother uwu” takes.
Because yes, Helaena is a much kinder and gentler person than most of the Greens. Yes, she was barely involved in the war. But, believe it or not, she is actually capable of independent thought and comprehension beyond being “the nice one.”
She watched her son be killed in front of her. Her daughter threatened with rape. Her other son told that she wants him dead. All because of her sister and uncle, people that have no war with her or her children, people that only two weeks ago were enjoying her company at dinner. You’re telling me that she feels no anger or resentment towards these people? At all? That nowhere, nowhere in the corner of her mind, nowhere does she want the people of King’s Landing to understand their brutality?
Look I know that people already think that autistic people are sweet little innocent uwu small beans who could never feel a negative emotion towards anyone in their life and who are incapable of comprehending anything as complex as politics and war, but this is getting ridiculous. And you know what? Maybe when the season comes out she will have been forced to go to the funeral, and I’ll eat my words. But for now, can we please not do this?

honestly, i'm just here for the daemon slander at this point ☝🏻
Daemon never avenged Rhaenyra the way Aemond and Aegon did Helaena he just stirred shit and made it worse.
Aegon and Aemond literally drug the people who hurt their sister to hell with them.
Daemon started grooming a new little girl because the last one he groomed and emotionally abused got too much autonomy.

i don't know, but there's just something about rhaenyra marrying daemon after he was disinherited – and by that making him her consort – that just makes me so angry? like, bitch are u fr?
No, but if we stop to think about it, indeed the set up for the dance is so weak, specially when George had a better set up right then and there that he solved with the council of 101: Rhaenys vs Viserys. The daughter of the eldest son and heir vs the son of the second son. This should have been the configuration of the dance.
Then he had the second best set up: Rhaenyra vs Daemon. The daughter of the king vs the brother of the king.
He screwed over both scenarios and went with the worst one, one that would never really make much sense, especially when you consider the reasons why Rhaenyra was chosen as an heir (to avoid Daemon ascending to the throne). Not only Viserys fixed this problem by marrying again and having not only one, but three sons… Rhaenyra went to marry Daemon. Like, there’s no realistic scenario where she wouldn’t have been disinherited right then and there, or where the realm wouldn’t rally behind Aegon instead of her, especially when she fucked off to Dragonstone instead of trying to assert herself as heir and future queen in KL.
George just made really bad choices overall, that’s why the dance feels kind of weird and some plot points are very forced to fit into the narrative instead of feeling like natural consequences of what was happening.

i will never shut up about how he deserved the humiliation!! he was a shitty father/husband and an even worse king.
i said what i said. have a good day!
Sometimes I think about Viserys and the fact he lost an eye in the ten years after the events of Driftmark and I wonder if I'm the only one seeing something precise in it. Nothing will ever give me more satisfaction than seeing that pathetic excuse of a man bedridden and too ill to move on his own, especially after all he did to Alicent and her children when they were born children, not ideas, obsessions and ghosts he killed another woman for. But why his eye?
The night he denied his son the mercy of a father, and only granted him the sterness of a King. The night he dismissed his wife and her rage, the night he clearly showed everyone where his love lay. The night he broke his family apart in his greatest attempt to mend them, but through silence and fear, not love and sincerity. Because they're his subjects, and his word is a law they must all follow.
Alicent is tired of keeping silent and being afraid. She demands justice instead, some kind of punishment, some kind of mercy. Anything, from anyone who can give it.
The next time all of his family is reunited, however, he's nothing but a father who gave the cold shoulder to his son who had been mutilated. To his son whom he denied justice.
So he pays the price for it. As he walks to his throne and is carried to his table, he forces everyone to bear witness.

say it louder for the people in the back!!
And again obvious nonsense from tb stans who pretend to sympathize with Helaena but wish her and her family a speedy death.
I accidentally saw this “beautiful” edit on TikTok and laughed. I have never read such stupid thoughts anywhere! Let's go through the points.

Bro, point your finger at those people who sympathize with Alicent, but claim that the marriage of Aegon and Helaena is wonderful. That's right, you won't find such people (or such people will be completely repulsed). EVERYONE, without exception, sees how uncomfortable the two of them are.

Did Alicent order the marriage of Aegon and Helaena? I beg you. you missed her words about how she hates Valyrian traditions, which she talked about in the series in episode 5. and do you think she will immediately marry her children to each other? It seems to me that it would have been much more reasonable on her part to insist on different marriages with different great houses of Westeros, which would bring green support later, and she would have insisted if not for the will of Viserys.

Where does it say that she is autistic? I laugh so hard at the tb stans who angrily claim that Helaena has signs of autism. Yes, she is unhappy in her marriage. yes, she bears his children because apparently it is her duty as a princess. Alicent’s duty to the state was exactly the same. She's not Rhaenyra, who fucks whoever she wants, whenever she wants. if she wants, she will give birth to a brown-haired child; if she wants, she will give birth to a white-haired child.

I see that toast as a way to get through to Aegon. it was a cry for help, but she didn’t want to upset him with it. what she said about the nuances of her marriage was a way of letting Aegon know that she was hurting and lonely, and the way Aegon then watches her closely during Jacaerys's (hypocritical) dance suggests that he still cares about her . I guess the author is one of those people who argue that Jace acted like a real gentleman when he asked Helaena to dance haha. no, my dears. Jace did this to spite Aegon. he has always been petty, and his mockery about his childhood during dinner confirms this. and if Alicent had agreed to Helaena and Jace's marriage, do you really think she would have liked it? Helaena would have been held hostage by the blacks along with the children during the dance, manipulated by Rhaenyra or Daemon. and if the blacks had won and Rhaenyra had taken the throne, would everyone really have turned a blind eye to the obvious bastards behind her back? especially on Jacaerys, who seems to inherit after her? Uprisings would begin again, and then Helaena would also fall under the distribution. no, this is a stupid decision, and I advise black fans to forget about sweet dreams forever. that's all.
