Been thinking a lot about these two scenes in GoF and how heartbreaking it must have been for Sirius. His Godson has just been attacked, not only by the return of the wizard who killed his best friend, but yet again by Peter, somewhat doubling down the betrayal he made against Lily and James.

But then, he hears that Lily and James were there. Actually sprung from the wand that murdered them to help their son. He had spent 12 years in Azkaban just wishing to see their faces one last time, to hear their voices and remember that they were real people that used to laugh with him. They saved their son again, even after death. He could not see them, but they were not lost.

So, in the aftermath Sirius stays with a horrified and grieving Harry. He insists, despite the danger that puts him in. He shifts into dog form and lays his head on Harry's stomach, feeling the slowing of his breath as he drifts to sleep, and is reminded of the last time he had done the exact same. A pregnant Lily, just starting to show, trying to stay awake while James follows through on his last Order mission before he officially resigns to stay with her and the baby.

After hours of worry, she had finally drifted to sleep, cradling her stomach with one hand and petting the tip of his ear with the other. He laid his head on her stomach, hoping, praying, to hear the door open and James to appear like he promised. The alternative is not an option. He closes his eyes and focuses on the sound of Lily's breath, straining to hear not one but two heartbeats coming from her center.

yu ijin's multiple languages

i'm actually kind of sad that the manhwa didn't portray the cultural differences more in ijin, between the foreign land that he grew up in and korea. We had a glimpse of it, like ijin not being bothered by korea's summer heat while the others around him were nearly melting. it seemed to be implied that the foreign land is Mediterranean or middle eastern. there were more representation of culture shock in terms of morality and social-environment, but not the country and culture.

i wish there would be more representation to the different languages, like the numbers talking to each other in another language, but it seems like everyone speaks korean (the numbers suddenly being able to speak with ijin's family, etc.) . which can even be considered as a plot hole, but its just a small detail so its not a big deal. we can't expect a manhwa to be geographically accurate anyway lol

+ i actually headcanon that the camp resides in middle east, and the camp speaks arabic, but they are required to know multiple languages for the variety of different customers they get. this could be the plot hole's solution tbh, an explanation why ijin would know korean and english, same for the numbers. perhaps the camp had an associate to a korean team, thats why hangul was included to their language. lol atp im just setting up my own world building

The numbers never play any games so Ijin bring them over to the hideout to play.

It was intimidating for them (esp. for Yungchan) at first but holy crap were they so bad at it. Ironically, the more proficient they are in combat, the worst they're in playing games. Ijin being 001, remain undefeated of being the worst at playing game.

004 keeps cursing in all languages that he knows, 008 be having his own mukbang session rather than playing the game. 002, on the other hand, is silent but the more he plays, the more he lets out his murderous intent. 032, 018, 016 do pretty well enough for beginners. 006 still has his usual calm smile but the sound of his fingers smashing down the keyboard is enough to show his agitation.

005 didn't even bother playing, she just calmly sit with Dayun and Shin Yuna like a responsible older sister of the family.

Potions is Sirius' worst subject. It didn't used to be, but ever since classes started in the fall, his performance has gotten worse and worse. Professor Slughorn tsks incessantly about him being distracted, and James and Remus only snicker, because who could blame him?

You're mesmirizing. Your concentrated squint as you read the directions, the self-assured way you move about the classroom, the purse of your lips when your potion takes on an unexpected hue, the dimple that appears when your friends say something funny, the way the ride side of your mouth quirks just slightly upwards when your gaze cuts Sirius' way...it's possible that his attention is largely on your mouth, though Sirius likes the rest of you just as well.

"Mate, doesn't that seem too hot?" James asks from beside him.

Entirely too hot, Sirius thinks, but blinks away the fog of his infatuation to ask, "What?"

"It's supposed to be simmering, not boiling." Remus is looking at him knowlingly, and Sirius tries not to scowl. He's right, though; Sirius' veritasum antidote has taken on the consistency of slug slime, and it's beginning to smell suspiciously of spoiled milk.

"Merlin, Black, think you could keep your failures on your side of the room?" Your nose is scrunched up dramatically, and your friends grumble in agreement, looking at Sirius with distaste.

"I was trying to replicate the aroma of the Slytherin common room," he says innocently. "I think it's fairly accurate, don't you?"

"As if you'd ever be invited in," you reply flippantly, going back to stirring your own potion, which, Sirius is irked to admit, looks perfect.

And he's right. Class wraps up with Slughorn giving Slytherin ten points on account of your "flawless work," but Sirius can't be bothered to care as he lets his friends go ahead to lunch, finding you in an empty hallway.

"Did you hear that?" You ask, a familiar self-satisfied glint in your eyes. "Slughorn said I have a wealth of potential."

"Have I not told you you have potential?" Sirius grabs your hand, and you grin as he whisks you into a closet. "I think you have tons of potential, gorgeous," he says as the door shuts behind you.

Your hands are instantly in his hair, that pretty mouth finally on his, and Sirius thinks you may actually be stealing the breath from his lungs. Sounds like something you'd do. He lets you back him up against the door, and then you're smiling, pulling away with your hands braced against Sirius' shoulders to keep him from following.

"Yeah?" you croon, pouting at him with faux sympathy. "Is that why you can't keep it together for even one class?"

"Mhm," Sirius agrees readily, looping his red and yellow scarf around your waist and tugging you back towards him hungrily. "You're killing me, sweetheart."

"Get that thing away from me, Black," you complain, squirming in the confines of his scarf, but you're laughing.

"Can't," he says. "Sorry." He's not. You struggle for a few seconds more before the drag of his teeth against your bottom lip has you melting against him, your fingers winding back up into his hair to pull him closer.

It appears Sirius isn't the only one who can be distracted.
