Final Thoughts
I've got everything that i planned on having by the end of this semester which is good and means i'm on track with the whole final project! I have a check list plan of what is to do next and i just need to make a weekly timetable and set goals for each day/week. So i think i'm pretty confident as to the Pre-production side of things, and have everything that i want to move on. Lighting is something i want to take more attention to, to prevent noise and get it the exact way i'd like. Sound design will be recorded myself, finding different sources, and different leads so that it can direct the character through their experience of the animation. Different metallic sounding audio, and drones, fans, things like that that i want to edit a lot and pay a good amount of attention to. The Dissertation has helped me a bunch in this respect and made me even more appreciative of sound design and how it is created and used in games. The dissertation was successful in providing me with so much research and influences to help guide me in this area of the animation, that i am so excited to get into it all!!!
Obviously to this point, i feel as though i have put in so many hours of thinking and developing my world that i hope it'll turn out as i hope to. Because i genuinely love what i'm doing and there hasn't been a day when i'm regretting decisions and scrapping my work. And glad i am at a stage where i can proceed confidently. It just needs to turn out good hahaha! and the way i want the outcome to be.

A few of my main inspirations of works, animations and games.
Because i want my animation to be heavily influenced by sounds design and creating an atmosphere, to be my main objective and outcome. I was inspired by a few works that i have played and watched myself that made me want my own to have that level of work as a part of it. Games like Inside(2016) and Little Nightmares 2 (2021) are both heavy upon creating an whole atmosphere through the skilful usage of sound design and environment. To which the finest details have been considered that may not be noticeable or needed, but make all the difference and are so very impressive that every time i play, i'm in awe at how great experience they are. I've recently been watching a play through of The Last Of Us 2, and the level of world-building and creation is insane and is so inspiring to see, even to the details of blood diffusing into water after a death to which if they landed anywhere else, the interaction between the two substances would not be present. The reflection of light on glass, even the texture of glass in amazing. Not to forget the sound design in accordance to the weather or distance, makes the whole game experience more breath-taking. Another game like Stray(2022) is another example of an exploration and puzzle solving game, that the player generally takes in all their surroundings and are amazed. This game being a good influence to my piece in a way of genre as well and environment, that science fiction, dystopian, post apocalyptic feel (just like the other games mentioned)

Primary research
UV disinfection
Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation is a disinfection method using ultraviolet light, to kill or inactivate microorganisms. UVGI inactivates microbes by damaging genetic material, thereby stopping their capability to carry out vital functions.
It is used for water and air disinfection.
Considered UV light with a wavelength of 254nm
Most commonly used are low-pressure mercury discharge lamps.
One drawback is that microorganisms cannot be destroyed when there is shadow, so lamps should be located appropriately in a manner that prevents the occurrence of shadows.
They can kill any viral, bacterial and fungal organisms
UVGI fixtures produce UV-C energy, which has shorter wavelengths than more penetrating UV-A and UV-B rays and pose less risk to human health.
Upper room UVGI refers to a disinfection zone of UV energy that is located above people in the rooms they occupy. this kills airborne pathogens in the rooms where they are released.
How does upper room uvgi work?
Air passes through the disinfection zone from air flow through HVAC system, fans, and/or open windows.
The airborne pathogens are killed once they receive an appropriate amount of UV energy. The particles remain in the air, but they are no longer infectious.
Why am i incorporating it?
First of all, i think its such a cool method about disinfecting and killing microbes, especially with the use of UV lamps that give off a cool purple glow. I thought of this idea a few years ago, of having an underground facility purely lit with black lights, but needed an accuse as to why people are living under these lights - and finding out what these lamps can do, i had to incorporate it somehow. It is a common trope at the moment of having an overall world-impacting disease that life had to be quickly adapted to in order to sustain it - like the release of HBO's The Last of Us. But i wanted to put my own rendition into the mix, one that has kept with me in the back of mind for a while. and portraying in a Video Game style, is definitely something i want to try out.
Why am i doing video game style?
its an area of career that interests me
i think video games are definitely the future and so much can come from them and made from them. any interactive and immersive media is so cool and interesting to get into.
First person view is different to having a character on the screen and it is more immersive for a watcher or player when its first person as it seems they are within the world themselves.
Because its this style, to predict exact angles and positions of camera angles are difficult to predict right now without a the space just yet. And the exact audio that i want too. Which all will be formed when i finally start to make everything.

Animation Test 2 with audio.
So i put in the lighting of the original animation test. To see how it'd come out like.
Overall it came out very well however, the white bulbs have not shown, unlike the previous images.
But i realised that i'll need a physical model of the character in order to make shadows, in the real thing. that's okay! i don't have to fully rig it or properly model it

I tried to do a range of render images as i did for the last lamp, but some how this was taking longer than the last and it still comes out at noisy, with the same settings put to it.
So i have just one image for now. and will worry about lighting aspects in the next semester.
(It took me 3 hours today and i was slowly becoming more upset as i was going along)
