I keep forgetting what an absolute unit Shoresy is. He’s a beast on the ice, but off the ice he’s way worse. He’s a fucking menace like intimidating as fuck holy shit. I have to keep reminding myself like when he’s on a mission to seek revenge on someone for hurting one of his friends, no one’s gonna get in his way.

Not me obsessively checking the Shoresy tag on tumblr and A03 every half and hour to the point where I’ll cave and start writing my own self-indulgent fanfics.

I want Shoresy being hurt physically and mentally like I need that hurt/comfort angst shit.

I want Shoresy staying late after every loss and coming in on week nights when he knew no one else ought to be there to skate himself ragged because he was never good enough. He would skate until he collapsed in front of the bucket to get sick and get up to do it all again until his throat burned and he was unable to get up.

I want Shoresy getting jumped in a back alley after reffing one night by some of the many people he’s pissed off over the years and he’s unable to fight back no matter how hard he bucks against them because there’s just too many of them and only one of him.

I want the team seeing through Shoresy’s tough guy attitude and being appreciative for how fucking hard he works for them and how much he cares about them. They tell him that he ought to deserve the game stick every night with how much he cares.

I want emotionally unstable Shoresy buckling from all the pressure of keeping the team afloat. No one in the community supports them and it’s not like Nat is being any more helpful with all the jabs she and Miig and Ziig are peppering him with.

I want Shoresy feeling numb while he took a knee on the ice after warm ups because there was so much pain when he thought that Sanger and the boys had given up on the team and hated his guts like tendy (and so many others) did. He took out that paralyzing anguish of losing his best friend and his good buddies out on the other team, not even thinking twice before pulling Michael’s hair but it all came crashing down with the impact of being tackled to to ground by a guy much bigger and heavier than him. The immense relief he felt when Goody and Hitch yanked the guys off of him because as soon as he hit the ground every player in the vicinity pounced on him like prey.

i love that the new series makes shoresy out to be a genuinely likeable big-hearted and emotional guy who just shows his affection through chirping cause it provides new perspective on the letterkenny characters. by that i mean that he only treats reilly and jonesy Like That because they're such fucking assholes lmaooo

Shoresy as a show just made him so fucking relatable and I haven't even finished (only need episode 6) but here are my headcanons:

Shoresy was an athlete in high school, for sure, but I also like to think he did drama/theater either as a class or in a club and absolutely became obsessed with it (based on him knowing Jesus Christ Superstar, which in my experience is only known by theater geeks)

Shoresy got Big Sexy before he joined the Letterkenny Irish, and the only words he taught him were "tit fucker" and "fuck you"

Shoresy is an avid supporter of the lgbtq+ community and will beat up/chirp out anybody who is a homophobe (I asked him myself, he said this was true)

If anyone ever asks why he knows so much about theater he just says he was in tech (partially true, he did do tech stuff, but he also acted)

He cries at those animal shelter ads they play on TV and it takes about an hour to calm down from it

Shoresy also cries when somebody brings up that Big Sexy is going to die one day

This guy, when asked about his pronouns, will say "he/him, thanks" and then procede to ask for yours. He will aggressively correct people who misgender you after learning your pronouns

He is unlabeled, but leans more towards liking women

Dad shore made him a pride flag hockey sweater (which he updated to the progress flag) and Shoresy wears it to practice in June. All other times it is on display in his locker or his house

Shoresy

not the promised thing i was working on, but something i couldn’t wait any longer to get off my chest:

Shoresy literally only has found family.

he was in the foster system from, judging based on the pictures, at least eight or nine years of age. specifically, he was placed with the man he calls ‘Dad’ at that age. he could have been in the system since he was born, or tragedy could have placed him there more recently. we just don’t know.

what we do know is that as an adult, Shoresy attends a family reunion as his father’s son, with his siblings, who are also all fostered. Dad Shore at one point even emphasises the fact that the kids were never referred to as siblings in their childhood, which only serves to underscore the fact that they choose to refer to themselves as siblings in adulthood. Dad Shore also points out that Shoresy’s competitive nature drives him, explicitly saying: He only beat Mo once, but he’s been chasing that feeling ever since. This draws a bright line between Shoresy’s hatred of losing and his desire for Validation. 

all of this makes a line from the previous episode hit SO DIFFERENT. Shoresy repeatedly reminds his teammates to call their parents, admonishing them with the question: Have yez really not called your parents? D’ya want them to hate yez? He then is shown on the phone himself, while his teammates talk to their families, calling out their bad behaviour as, ‘so dumb.’ We don’t know for sure who he’s on the phone with, but in light of the precipitating conversation, it’s a safe assumption he’s calling a family member, probably his dad. By flagging up his teammates’ laxness, he puts himself in stark contrast; his call is basically a cry of HEY DAD, LOOK WHAT A GOOD SON I AM DAD, ESPECIALLY IN COMPARISON TO THESE TWATS DAD, TELL ME WHAT A GOOD SON I AM DAD. 

Shoresy: This is great. I’m going to get a good grade in ‘son’, something that is both normal to want and possible to achieve,

it makes me wonder if Shoresy was formally adopted at all, or if his placement was a long-term foster. the shared last name, Shore, seems to indicate that he was, although it is possible that he changed his name to more visibly align himself with his family.
