Anachronism- A Hat in Time Zine applications opening Nov.11th!

Hey guys! Applications are opening from November 11th to 18th! We encourage you to read the general guidelines and for writing and art pieces before applying. Guidelines will be reposted on the actual application post as well. Feel feel to message mods ( @subterra-rose @majormeilani ) or send an ask to this blog if there is any confusion.

General:

This zine is all ages! As a result, please refrain from creating any content that wouldn’t be present in the game. There’s no theme planned, but if you want to find a way to incorporate the title into your piece, props to you!

All communication will be done through Discord due to the nature of this project. Mods will message you within a few days once applications have closed with the link to join.

Please submit the finished piece with the account(s) you want to be credited under and an icon to represent you.

We want all characters to be represented! When applying, please submit a few characters you are interested in in the format of first choice, second choice, etc. Mods will contact you in the event that there are too many people requesting the same character. Cut characters are fine as choices as well! Group pieces are exempt from this.

OCs are fine to include in your piece, but please keep the AHIT characters as the main focus of the piece.

Totally optional, but feel free to submit a small blurb about your piece (2-4 sentences)! This will be attached to the piece at the bottom with your icon.

There will be three check-ins, including the submission date. The estimated timeline for them will be a few days during the weeks of Dec. 17th, Jan. 8th, and Jan. 21st. The zine completion date with all pieces submitted, edited, and published is the first week of February. Final dates will be posted in the discord once everyone has applied and we know the general number of people participating. Mods will give ample notice if this publishing deadline moves. Due to this, if you miss two check-ins without notifying mods, you will not be able to participate and will be dropped.

Artists (illustrations/comics):

Pieces should meet the minimum dimensions of 2500px/8.5in by 3300px/11in (letter size paper!) Ideally, send as a .png or .tiff

Pieces must be finished and fully coloured with the exception of comics after the first page. Comics must have the first page coloured but can have subsequent pages be monochrome. This means that unless the piece requires large amounts of white space, the background should not be left blank.

Please keep in mind that pieces that do not fit the dimensions will have to be rescaled and mods cannot ensure image quality will be the same.

Please sign somewhere on the piece! I want the art to be credited correctly. If you don’t, I’ll add a small watermark with the account you want to be credited.

Writers:

Each piece of allotted a space of 5 pages or 2500 words. If you feel as though what you want to write would go over this amount, contact one of the mods and we can discuss it.

All forms of writing are allowed. However, if the piece needs to be formatted a certain way, please send it as a PDF so I can ensure the format is correct. Otherwise, please send as a .doc, .docx, or .rtf

> Innocence AU (WIP) | “Total Victory?”

(The following is just an excerpt from what I’ve written so far. Please note I’m not the fastest writer in the world and school is my priority. Thanks!)

A foot lands on top of her, with a dull glare radiating off from Mu. Her own thoughts sour upon looking at the blonde, coughing out more sweat and tears. Her amber eyes bleed out judgment upon her, a small sigh escaping from her lips. Judgment on the actions of that hatted girl, judgment on the wounds imprinted onto her, judgment on those dying turquoise eyes. “So you’ve lost. I expected more of you, you know? We are rivals, after all. Aren’t rivals supposed to be equal?”

“Stop it,” she tears out. “You’re not you. The timepieces are corrupting you.”

Mu only smiles. She frowns.

“Haven’t I won fair and square though? I only just used what I had at my disposal!”

“No! You haven’t. You cheated. You teleported before I can beat you. And you knew I would’ve won—“ she screams out, lost in the moment. She is trying so hard, trying to tear that foot off her foot and finishing what she started: either by beating her or dying to her. She was so, so close to winning too.

But Mu’s face sours in response, her eyes widening in offense. “Then I’ll show you that I have total victory over you!” She yells in anguish, her palms flaring up in a golden fire, burning.

“What—“ Her own eyes widened at the golden hue of power. “What does that even mean— What do you think you’re doing—“

Because nothing happens for a second. That second, in which its so small, like an atom, and then everything happens. Everything, that fickle thing that happens for an eternity, which flies around the two of them in a whirlwind of golden shimmer. That eternity, stretching beyond the confines of time as the wind picks up, the yells from outside the arena dying out from her ears. Everything is blurry, but the only constant is that girl in front of her. That girl, in which power is like lava turned into lightning that flies from her palm, zipping as amber eyes laid upon her. She has no idea what was happening, the only real sensation she felt was that cold, floor of power that is her only support throughout everything. She finds herself begging, begging to do something, do anything, to move, to stop her in desperation.

Could you do a basic description of what's Innocence Au, just found this blog and designs and would like some L O R E. It can be just what differs from the game or just basic stuff about the characters

Basic Description ✨

Innocence is while nearing the end of the battle between Hat Kid and Mu in the final act (“Time’s End), Hat Kid ends up nearly winning. She would’ve won if Mu didn’t do a dirty trick.

So, whoop de do. Mu brainwashes Hat Kid 🌈

Hat Kid, while still retaining her personality for the most part, is clueless about what Mu exactly has done.

(Keep in mind— Mu doesn’t know the full extent of what really she’s done. The power she absorbed from the stolen timepieces has become more unstable but powerful. She doesn’t notice that.

The obvious effect of her power that she doesn’t know: she got the entire planet inside a slowly-unstable time rift.

She is somehow guilty of her power too: ever notice Hat Kid’s eyes in her ref? It constantly reminds Mu during her descent into madness.)

So as Hat Kid really hasn’t said anything in months now due to crashing at Earth + y’know. Getting brainwashed. Bow and Timmy come in with the great plan (not plan) of rescuing Hat Kid.

We’ll see how that goes :)
