Final Call.
Our working process was all over the place I cannot lie, we didn’t have a set script which is something that was very common among other classmates groups we just played a lot. For next time I would love more structure and to make sure at the start we book in extra sessions that we can all make. Personally next time I will take off more work so that I can focus more on the play, and the production work. I love this course and can’t thank Kerryn (and Hannah) enough for the amazing time I had, the highs and lows were most definitely worth it. My group was amazing and couldn’t think of better people to have worked with I have nothing bad to say about them.

Week 6
We are finally here, the end and what a week it was been. On Tuesday we were all ready to go feeling confident and then Sam fainted which was unsettling for almost everyone. Since we were meant to go right after that we had the decision to make if he wanted to perform or not, we decided that if even one of was wasn’t comfortable performing we wouldn't do it. So we decided to perform on Thursday again when everyone was feeling better. On Thursday it was time to shine and we did, I have never been so proud of a devised piece of theatre our group did so well I have am so grateful to have worked with them. The response was better than we thought and there were so many laughs we knew we did well. This course has taught me so much and I am so glad that I took it!

Week 5
So close to performing ahh! Everything feels a lot better but there is no way we are ready and because of everyone's busy timetables its super hard to meet but we have made times early in the morning. The costume are finally sorted! We ended up deciding that the pyjamas wouldn’t work as they would be too distracting. So we made a compromise because Troys “pervert” boxers were too good not to include, so Liv spills cream on his pants so he has no option but to wear them for the second half of the show. I feel that the costume reflect the characters well, Karen is classic yet chill, Jackie is put together but boring, Liv is hip and trendy and Joyce is over the top. The Set is also nailed down and I couldn’t be happier, the bench like couch feels super chill and low budget (what we were going for) and with Kates brilliant idea of projection we have some texture. The props list is also complete so we just have to grab those items.

Week 4
I’m starting to get stressed. We are 2 weeks away from performing and it just feels like we have so much to do even though we have done so much. I’m well aware that this shit stage will pass but it just feels like we keep getting stuck, narrative plot holes were problem until we sat down and talked it all through (refer to the photos) so that makes me feel a bit better. I personally feel that health and beauty is lacking and could almost be cut, but then I know that it needs to stay for tension I just wish we had more time to prepare and more time to perform. The cooking scene however is getting better, we just need to figure out the right pace. And while the week feels like a bit of a mess we had a blessing in disguise. Having no room to rehearse we went down to the dressing room, which sparked inspiration for a behind the scenes aspect to the play. We then created a fun live stream aspect, which shows a bit of the backstage tension and that on screen off screen balance. We also had a lot of fun doing it which was something we needed.

Intersting topic, Joyce would be very for makeup and have similar opinions.
Good quote:
“I don’t want to put one of my employees into winning a very big contract with very big heads of departments who’s not wearing makeup because it just tells me they don’t care enough about themselves if they don’t care enough about that person's business”

Monologue
On phone] Yea just another Botox session yea? Cool thank you so much lovely [hangs up phone]. Another day older and another less beautiful, if I don’t get hosting anytime soon, they’ll start telling me I’m too old, can you believe that? I don’t look a day over 25, Jennifer Aniston wishes she could age this well. I just don’t understand why I’m not in that seat and Suzan is, yea she’s younger than me and funnier I guess, but I’m more beautiful I show more skin and I have slept with people to get here – I obviously have the appeal. Not to mention I don’t have the annoying feminist attitude, no one fucking cares that George is getting payed more than you, fuck off or suck it up sweetie. I’m stuck with health and beauty, yea sure it fits me I mean look at me I’m everything a man wants but men don’t watch this shit, so I have to tell these overweight, acne faced ladies that all they have to do it take this magical pill and they’ll look like me, news flash I got lipo and plastic surgeries to thank for this body. All I want is to have my time to shine is that too much to ask.

Week 3
Was a week of exploration and seeing what our options were and where else we wanted to go. Overall is was a great week and we got a lot done even though I was sick on Tuesday and couldn’t make it. Though I was away the group decided on would be cast as what roles (and still checked in to make sure I was happy with mine) which really helped in sorting out where to go next. I was given the role of a segment host for health and beauty.
Thursday was a really good day we got so much done! Hot seating was super useful for all of us, especially me, I had no clue who my character was going to be. When the hot seating began the idea of this sassy, washed out celeb who was grasping onto her last bit of fame emerged and became a highlight.
Production work:
I feel that I can actually start to delve into costume and set now that we have a better understanding of what we want everything to look like. Pyjama bottoms for Troy and Sophie create a bit of extra humor but also could be too distracting and not mesh the set well enough. For set we have been playing around with a smaller table as a desk and a larger one where they would stand. With the desk option the pjs wont be seen until they stand so I'm leaning more toward this because the standing table means the pjs are exposed the whole time.
