Felipe VI grants his first noble titles to celebrate the 10th anniversary of his proclamation

As the King's Household explains in a statement, Felipe VI “in accordance with the provisions of Article 62, section f of the Constitution and coinciding with the anniversary of His proclamation before the Cortes Generales”, has decided to grant six marquisates to these personalities because "their respective careers are exponents of excellence, whether in the service of the Crown or in the fields of thought, culture, science, the arts and sport. They are a source of pride for Spain and are a permanent reference of values that should inspire our society and that are reflected, both in the proclamation speech of His Majesty the King before the Cortes Generales on June 19, 2014, and in the principles of service, commitment and duty that he imprints on His reign."

The six marquisates granted by King Felipe VI are as follows:

-The State Attorney Jaime Alfonsín Alfonso receives the distinction of Marquis of Alfonsín, with Grandeza de España. A title that will be inherited by his eldest daughter

-Tennis player Rafael Nadal Parera will also be from now on Marquis of Llevant de Mallorca. The title will be inherited by his son.

-The swimmer Teresa Perales Fernández has been distinguished by the King with a marquisate that bears her surname and is also hereditary.

-The singer María Luz Casal Paz will be Marquise of Luz y Paz. A distinction also of hereditary character.

-The biochemist and molecular biologist Carlos López Otín will be Marquis of Castillo de Lerés. A distinction for life, which will return to the Crown once he is gone.

-The photographer Cristina García Rodero receives the marquisate of Valle de Alcudia. Also with hereditary character.

With love, I think y’all need to calm down. I doubt she was ever anything more than tentatively scheduled to go to Ascot and then they published the carriage procession list and KP had to say no, actually, it’s a heatwave and she’s in recovery.

Also, Ascot is not an engagement. It’s a social event. It’s fully not in the Court Circular for anyone but the monarch.
