The best part of the Hugo and Viri second clip is how Hugo kept leaning in close to talk to Viri and hear what she had to say. In s2, we saw Viri at a party talking to a guy. It was her trying to contribute to the conversation Alejandro and Nora are having. Alejandro leans in to hear what Nora is saying, Nora leans in to hear what Alejandro is saying, and Viri smiles and tucks her hair behind her ear and says nothing. And nearly a year later, why should this be different?
Except this time, it isn't Viri following along, hoping to find a chance to speak or be included but not finding the chance. Hugo leans in, carries on the conversation past a simple compliment, listens and banters with her. He's engaged; he cares. Hugo doesn't want to talk with one of Viri's best friend, isn't trying to ignore her for what he wants or needs. It's just her.
