After having watched Thunderbolts, it really strikes me what shitty people the remaining Avengers were. And yes, I’m including Steve in that. Every single one of them left Wanda alone with her grief. None of them checked in with her. None of them showed they cared because none of them DID care. They weren’t a found family. They didn’t look out for each other. They left her alone and WandaVision happened. They left her alone and Multiverse of Madness happened.

And I really hate it because it seems/feels like no one took her grief seriously because it was “just Vision.” Just a robot. Not a sentient being who was their teammate and supposed friend.

No one bothered to come for Wanda until she was needed. Until her powers were needed. It wasn’t to check in with her, it was because Stephen Strange needed something from her. The selfishness of these heroes is mind boggling.

The Thunderbolts has Yelena, though, and she really is the heart of that team. She cares. She wants to be the one people can rely on when they make a mistake. Natasha was the same. For her, that was family. She said as much in Endgame. Natasha, imo, would never have left Wanda on her own. Natasha was the heart of the Avengers. And isn’t it just a fucking trip that the two people who became the heart and soul of their respective teams were both Widows? Both abused and controlled and molded into heartless killers, and in Yelena’s case fucking mind controlled as well, but they kept their hearts. Much more so than the rest of the “heroes.”

Bob’s story turned out differently because people fucking cared. They showed up for him when he was in his darkest place. They loved and accepted him. I only wish Wanda could’ve had the same.
