ABUNDANCE COMMISSION BOARD
ー OPEN STARTERS
I have written a general, open starter for all three of the Teyvat-based commissions.
Calm before the Storm [Location: Mondstadt]
Mother Instinct [Location: Fontaine]
A Helping Hand…or Paw? [Location: Inazuma, Seirai Island]
These interactions are open to all other GH members and there is no limit on how many people can respond to the same open. :3 I personally do not mind doubling up on a commission as it is very unlikely the plot will unfold in exactly the same way.

After all the trouble Lumine went through to help bring life back to Asase Shrine, she could not simply stand by and watch as sneaky bandits try to feast on the profit.
The offerings made to Neko and her shrine are meant to be used to finance the maintenance of said shrine as well as purchase food and other basic necessities for the Priestress and her little companions.
Of course, the blonde did not expect that Treasure Thieves would understand this. Or even if they did, they only ever think of their own gains rather than be considerate of the people around them.
Unfortunately for them, the Shrine could count on back-up from one of the most proficient guards in all of Teyvat - none other than the renowned Traveler herself.
She has a soft spot for Neko and cats in general - admittedly - so she never really had to think about whether or not she would accept this commission.
During the daytime, she is mostly on standby. The area is filled with tourists so it is difficult for bandits to make a quick escape. However, once the sun has set and most of the people have gone home, that is when they like to strike.
Thankfully, cats are nocturnal, so she can count on the help of all of the felines on the island to be on the lookout with her. If they spot suspicious movement, they immediately alert her so she can strike.
"Let's see if any of them actually hate the guts to make a move..."
...
ーー Mreow!
( ...!! That's one of the cats! A thief!? )
The blonde was quick to draw her blade, ready to strike at whoever dared to approach.

The infamous Traveler has made quite a name for herself in the World of Teyvat - whether it was due to her heroic deeds, her strength and excellent combat abilities or her seemingly limitless courage and compassion. The rumors can get a little out of hand, making her seem like a flawless being who has not a single weakness.
-- But nothing could be less true.
The otherworldly Traveler definitely had a couple of weaknesses. Her biggest weakness of all?
None other than cute baby animals.
How can she resist those big round, pleading eyes? All a small animal needs to do is throw a quick glance at her and she instantly melts.
It should come as no surprise that when she was asked to help care for a bunch of baby otters who had lost their home, it was a no-brainer. Lumine instantly transformed into 'mother mode', adjusting her appearance to care for the small animals. Her two side bangs had been tucked back and braided against the back of her head so they would not get in the way while doing basic activities like feeding or playing. She also wore a cute apron on top of her usual attire, sporting an otter illustration on the front pouch to complete the look.
"Let's see...After their nape, it's time for an afternoon snack. I better start prepping that already because those little ones will be starving when they wake up."

A deep breath was taken as she stood on the edge of the cliff, the scent of the nearby ocean lingering in the air. The scenery from Stormbear Point was truly breathtaking. You would assume it be more crowded with tourists, hoping to catch a glimpse of the deep blue ocean and the vast, clear skies.
Yet, there was not a single other soul around. Largely due to the area not being the most safe for unsuspecting Travelers. There were quite a few Hilichurl camps scattered around and without the necessary weapons or combat experience, even these 'weaker' enemies could provide quite the challenge.
(What a shame...) ーー Lumine thought to herself as she took a seat on the soft grass, gaze still fixed on the waves. The sea was calm and quiet right now, but this place was traditionally used as a lookout point for incoming storms. It is usually being watched by one of the nuns of the Church of Favonius but now that the poor lady has fallen ill, she had decided to take her spot.
It was definitely not the most exciting commission she ever expected, but it was easy enough. According to the other nuns, there has not been a storm in forever, so most likely nothing eventful would happen during her stay here - so she brought a couple of novels from Yae Publishing House as well as a sketchbook along to keep herself entertained while she fulfills her duty.
One hour passed.
Then two.
Three, four, five...
And by the time about half a day had gone by, the blonde already felt bored out of her mind.
"Perhaps...I underestimated this."
If only she had invited a friend along--

"Most definitely. I owe a lot to the people of Mondstadt - the Knights of Favonius in particular - for welcoming me with more or less open arms." Aside from the fact that she was immediately pulled into their personal troubles regarding Dvalin - whose mind and soul had been corrupted by the Abyss Order and turned him against the city he once cherished deeply.
"If my memory serves me right, when I arrived in Liyue, I was falsely accused of murder and chased down by the Millelith."
Lumine could not keep up the act for long as she soon began to laugh, shaking her head. "Don't worry about it though. The situation was dire and I understand why the people reacted the way they did. Besides, it's not the worst way I've been treated by a nation. Inazuma takes the cake there." Nothing like constantly getting struck down by lightning.
"I've made a lot of wonderful friends in Liyue as well. It's probably the nation which feels the most like home to me now. ...Everyone's just one big family, you know?" The Lantern Rite plays a big part in it, of course, as this means she returns to the nation of Geo at least once a year to partake in the festivities.
Hold on...
The Lantern Rite...
"That's it! Why don't we make a sculpture representing the Lantern Rite? For example, a depiction of Liyue Harbor with lanterns ascending into the sky."
It would not be an easy task as sculping a whole scenery would require much more time and energy than sticking to one figure or creature, but if they wanted to win, they shouldn't take the easy route.
Having never met the Outrider in question, the…sketch does little to paint the picture. He watches Lumine instead. When the Traveler had arrived in Liyue, she was…acclimated, as best as could be expected. As she is now – with friends like family and more than half of the world at her feet – recounting first impressions of the world seems more than novel.
Special. Certainly not anything that could be captured easily on paper, he avoids the truth this time, that while he can see the ears and imagine the shape of a face, the quick likeness would not help him pick the woman from a crowd. Instead, he opts for sincerity, a grin. “Well deserved, that this world greeted you with warmth. In that, Mondstadt was…a suitable place for your beginning.” Liyue had certainly not welcomed them so, if witness accounts were to be given weight.
All necessary, unfortunately.“The snow on the mountain may not be enough, surely, to paint even half of the hearts of those fond of you in Mondstadt in Liyue alone,” Amusement flashes, but he’s in motion, gently picking the drawing equipment from her hands. Some would consider it a burden, to play catalyst to so many lives – Lumine manages to wear it well enough, though he refrains from saying so.
“My talent for the arts are…more literary, though tales and songs of your time in Liyue are already circulating through the stages,” He smiles, “If afforded the time, you might enjoy seeing it. As it is, perhaps we might benefit from practice.” When he stands, he remembers their surroundings, icy winds assaulting his skin as soon as his head clears the manmade fires. Even at midday, the temperature seems determined to drop, light flurries of snow drifting down from a cloudy sky.

A heavy sigh fell from the Traveler's lips. "I guess I should have figured you would look right through my tough facade." It is very hard to deceive someone who has a keen eye for people's thoughts and emotions. Even though Lumine considered herself to be a professional at keeping her innermost feelings hidden behind an outer facade, she was still no match for the Dendro Archon herself.
"As I said, it will not be my first trip down there. While the mining site is still relatively free from Abyssal corruption, when you venture deeper into the Chasm, it gets increasingly more dangerous." She explained, feeling a cold shiver run down her spine as the memories flooded back inside her mind.
"When I went to investigate strange Hilichurl activity, I discovered a whole inverted city alongside a..."
What to call him? They were not quite friends or comrades, but not completely strangers either.
"...an acqaintance of mine."
The whole place gave off an immensely eerie vibe. Not to mention it being upside down was scaringly similar to the Statue of Barbatos they had discovered previously in another part of Liyue. The Abyss Order was clearly involved in both cases, but there were still many questions left unanswered.
"In one of the Hilichurl Camps we also found...this." She pointed towards the flowers in her hair. "The Inteyvat cannot be found anywhere in Teyvat nowadays. It is the flower of my homeland. Which means the person who put it there is most likely..."
Lumine then shook her head. "I suppose that does not matter now. In short, that place just stirs up a lot of strong emotions inside of me. I know I have to just put that aside for now and focus on the commission at hand. It doesn't even sound all that hard yet...I cannot shake off this bad feeling."
Every time she had descended into that place before - something had gone wrong. From confrontations with Abyss Heralds to almost getting trapped inside the Chasm's Bed.
"Well, it's not somewhere I particularly want to go," she admits. "That place feels wrong, even from here." A blight on the world, like a blot of spreading ink in a clear pool; like a smoldering gash in a beautiful tapestry. Lumine's right - it's not somewhere anyone should choose to go, and yet, she's volunteered to go down there alone, all for a child she met on the road. Nahida admires her friend's kindness and selflessness - she merely wishes that the Traveler could accept that she's not alone in her journey, not truly.
"I can tell it scares you. And I'm absolutely sure that you shouldn't face whatever's down there alone," Nahida tells her, resolute and strong as an ancient tree. Delving into dangerous underground ruins is hardly most people's idea of a vacation, true, and it's not what she had planned for the week; but there's no way she's leaving Lumine to endure it alone. And, given the nature and likely origin of the ruins, there might even be something interesting to be learned from them.
"Tell me about the place we're going - what dangers should I be aware of?"

"The Chasm is not a very fun place, you know? It's murky and eerie. If you want to explore Liyue, there are a thousand other spots I would recommend instead."
Lumine was not so much concerned about the other not being strong enough to hold her own in a fight in case something were to go horribly wrong. She is an archon after all - so strength is hardly an issue. However, she knew Nahida already had to endure a lot of hardships in the past, so she simply wanted her to enjoy her time here in Liyue rather than having to come along to what is probably the worst sightseeing spot of the entire nation.
"I don't think I'll have to go that deep...but you never know. With my luck, a commission is rarely ever as easy as it first appears. There's usually some kind of catch."
Deep down, she still hoped that the other would change her mind - as the Traveler would feel terribly guilty if things did take a turn for the worse and she drags a friend into her mess in the process.
Still, she was doubtful she would be able to change the Dendro wielder's mind...
"Are you sure? Like, one hundred - no, two hundred - percent sure?"
The Chasm...
It's not a place Nahida knows much about; even Irminsul contains little in the way of specifics, only that there's a Celestial Nail somewhere in its depths. She's felt it like a massive gravity well tugging on the leylines like a stone thrown at a spiderweb, and she has a horrible suspicion that some of the information Irminsul previously contained was among the corrupted sections of the Tree she'd had to erase.
But she doesn't need to be an expert on the place to notice that Lumine is visibly unnerved by the prospect of going back there, even if it's for a good cause. She can't blame her - it's not somewhere she'd want to go, either. But, for her friend's sake, Nahida swallows down her own fear and reaches up to take Lumine's hand, offering a shaky smile as she does. "I'll come with you. This doesn't sound like the kind of place you should go alone."
It should be safe...at least, relatively safe...if ordinary humans are working down there, right? From what she knows of the Liyue Qixing, they wouldn't even allow people to go down there without taking the appropriate precautions. "Tell me about this commission. Do you know how deep we'll have to go?"

Despite the earlier display of confidence towards her own artistic skills, she suddenly felt incredibly self-conscious about the silly doodles in the notebook after seeing what the ex-Archon was capable of. While the carving was rough, it still captured the essence of what he was trying to portray - the boldness of the lines only adding a unique charm.
"Wow...I didn't know you could do that." She muttered under her breath, both glad to have picked him up as her 'partner in crime' for this competition while also somewhat fearful that she would end up dragging their team down.
"Anyway, that is not a bad idea. I have met a lot of unique individuals during my journeys in Teyvat...and I cherish each and every single memory with them. I doubt we will be able to recreate everything today, or we will need every single bit of ice and snow on this mountain, but I suppose it's a good idea to brainstorm at least."
ー And what better way to start things off, then at the very beginning?
"Paimon was the first friend I made, obviously. But when we're talking Teyvat natives, it was actually the Knights of Favonius' Outrider, Amber, whom I crossed paths with during the very early stages of my journey." She began, recalling that initial meeting.
"She had such a contagious energy. Always cheerful and smiling, but a formidable battler as well. As for her physical appearance...I'd compare her to a rabbit. She even has this ribbon in her hair which looks like bunny ears."
A quick doodle was made while she talked to help the other create a better image in his head.
"You see the resemblance too?"
Taking a seat at her side, he spared a quick scan of their environment. Others huddled around fires, heads tilted toward one another, children and adults locked in the vicious sport of hurling ice at one another, laughter filtering through here and there. “A straightforward approach,” He murmured, approval evident as his attention turned to examine-
Oh. The doodle certainly jumped from the page. Uneven lines and eyes off-center. Had he ever witnessed the Traveler participating in the arts? “Ah…” A breath, meeting fire-gold eyes, sparkling with enthusiasm for their project. “I would say that you have, for what is art but a reflection of individual perception?” As for the matter of resemblance…he failed to see it.
The true beauty was in the idea itself, turning in his head as he unearthed a small, frozen rock from layers of snow. “Though your time here has been brief…perhaps we can pay homage to those you hold close to your heart.” Slowly, the simple rock spun, adrift in the careful control of his own element before the features whittled down, refined. Not polished or beautiful, but bearing resemblance to Lumine herself, wielding silk flowers instead of her sword. One of their very first objectives together.
Holding it out to her, his free hand tapped the paper. “While my artistic talents are…untested,” Unpracticed, really. As much as he adored art in all forms, these were talents best left to professionals. “Perhaps, a game. Describe for me the people you adore, and I will draw them. Or, you paint their likeness and I will unravel the mysteries, pieces of memory that we might want to recreate here. We can take turns, sharing our stories.”

[LAST LOOK]: before going into a situation that may result in their death, the sender takes a moment to cup the unaware receiver's face in their hand, just to take a final look of admiration at them before they go.
[SACRIFICE]: the sender cups the receiver's face tenderly to distract them, right before shoving them out of the way (to safety) and facing an attack alone in order to buy the receiver enough time to escape.
[BELIEF]: in a moment where the receiver is lacking in self-confidence, the sender cups their face tenderly and professes their faith in the receiver's abilities.
[DISBELIEF]: after the receiver has done something completely unexpected (and reckless) the stunned sender cups their face in their hands while trying to get them to explain why the hell they did it.
[BETRAYAL]: trying to keep the receiver calm before the big reveal, the sender cups their face gently to keep them steady, and then reveals that they're the villain.
[WOUND]: after the receiver has been wounded, the sender tries to keep them calm and conscious by cupping their face in their hands and talking to them to keep them focused.
[INJURY]: after having been badly wounded themselves, the sender tries to reassure the frantic receiver by cupping their face and comforting them.
[RAMSAY]: after the receiver commits a culinary crime, the sender presses two slices of bread against either side of their face, cupping their face to hold the bread in place, and calls them an idiot sandwich.

"A little help with my [MAKE-UP], Cutie~?" ((If I'm not too late??))
REASONS TO CUP A FACE. ( A PROMPT LIST. )
[MAKE-UP]: while applying make-up on the receiver's face, the sender cups their face in order to keep them still.
"...Huh? With your make-up?"
Want some help clearing out a monster camp? Piece of cake.
In need of someone who can fetch herbs or plants which grow in difficult-to-reach locations? Say no more.
But apply make-up? Now that was something completely out of her comfort zone. Not only it is quite the hassle to put on every morning, but she never knows when she might have to jump into the water or fight enemies with Hydro-related abilities which could easily ruin the look.
"S-Sure."
(How hard can it be...?)
Gently placing one hand on the taller female's right cheek, she kept her face in place while using her free hand to dip the brush into the eye shadow before staring to apply it.
(Hm...This is very similar to painting. I suppose I can do it after all.)
But perhaps she was getting a bit too overly confident and overly enthusiastic. It was only when Lumine was done that she realized that she might have gone a bit overboard with the layering, putting it on way too thick. Instead of a suble purple shade, it looked as if the Librarian had walked face-first into the door, leaving her with not one but two black eyes.
(Uh-oh...)
"...A-All done! But look at the time! I really need to get going now You know me! Always busy with commissions and such!"

The entry fee was nothing outrageous. She could easily earn the Mora and more back with a single day of commissions for the Adventurer's Guild. Not to mention the money would be used for a good cause. Lumine had worked closely together with the Knights of Favonius in the past and they are always trying their best to ensure that the citizens of Mondstadt have their safety secured.
"Here you go. This is mine and..."
Of course.
She would act surprised, but this was not her first rodeo. She learnt from her trips around the Harbor with the ex-Geo Archon that she would have to take the role of 'wallet on legs' upon her. The things she does for her friends.
"For my companion as well. He isn't the biggest fan of the snow, you see, so this is the least I can do to thank him for tagging along regardless."
The Knight simply smiled and nodded in return, carefully putting the mora away in a metal box before putting it aside and showing them towards the competition's main area. There were already quite a lot of other contestants present - some duo's like them but also a few people on their own.
They were given the safety guide Zhongli asked for earlier as well as a bag with all of the tools they might want to use when constructing their snowy sculpture. To finish the tour, they were shown the main camp and lounge area where they could get food, drinks and use the toilet. There were several bonfires set up to keep the place warm (or at least warmer) as well, so this was the perfect place to discuss their next course of action.
"I think we should start by figuring out what kind of design we are going for. We are given complete freedom in this regard. It can be more of a traditional snowman design, but personally I think it would be more interesting to go with something unique." She began, pulling out a sketchbook from her bag. "I actually already thought of some designs." Few people knew this, but the Traveler actually likes to doodle in her free time.
...
But there's the catch. As much as she loves it, she is a terrible artist.
"This one, for example, I based on Paimon! Can you see the striking resemblance?"
Her index finger pointed to the doodle on the corner of the page - which if she had not said that it was based on her floating companion - people could easily mistake for a frog with googly eyes.
"I believe I captured her cuteness very well!"
Few things were as impressive as the stretching expanse of Mount Vindagnyr unfolding towards the heavens amidst a never-ending flurry of wind and snow. The overbearing chill rolling off the mountain crept forward like an omen itself, warding travelers away from the ruins of an ancient, failed civilization.
Somehow, he was not surprised to find that Lumine seemed to enjoy this aspect, steps losing none of their vibrance as she led them closer to the encampment where a dutifully stationed knight greeted them with enthusiasm that went beyond casual familiarity. Friends wherever you go, he thought, unbearably fond despite the circumstances. One of the many reasons he’d elect to join her when opportunities were kind. Although…
Shaking like a leaf, his expression flattened, drawing straighter and allowing his arms to fall at his sides. “I will be fine,” A promise, smiling softly as though the gesture itself warmed him. “In this nation, the wind never settles,” True to form, the icy, unforgivable wisps of a breeze had dark hair fluttering over his eyes in consistent waves. “The wool suits the occasion and will keep the worst of the chill away. We would not want you falling ill, though your intentions are well placed.”
Weather like this was for quiet, indoor company. Sharing stories by the fireside with tea and friends while warmth lulled the senses. The Knights of Favonius clearly thought no such thing, crude braziers situated haphazardly here and there, the tents sprawling the sidelines looking to be for official use only. No, the competition had clearly not been staged with visitors in mind. How careless. Zhongli drifted towards the registration table, where the bright-eyed recruit greeted them eagerly.
“H-hello!” The stutter was not one laced with cold, but a sort of star-struck awe for the shorter of the two. “Wow! I mean- I mean, hi, Miss Honorary Knight and-“ Green eyes darted toward him and then back again. “- friend of the Honorary Knight! Haha, I never thought I’d meet you in person. I…are you two signing up?”
A nod. “We are. Can you clarify the parameters of the contest? Perhaps a book of rules can be provided?”
This time, the knight’s head bowed a little, seemingly looking to Lumine for guidance. Zhongli waited patiently, hands resting at his back. “Book of rules? For…building a snowman? We didn’t really think it necessary, but I do have a safety guide about the mountain. The funds are going to be allocated to the Knights of Favonius…supplies, gear, and other equipment.” The knight paused once more, waiting while Zhongli blinked back in return. “So…to enter, it’s 2,500 mora per person.”
“Ah, of course.” Zhongli hummed thoughtfully, turning to Lumine, expectant.

About Dainsleif
Send me “About [NAME]” for my character’s thoughts on another character!
「 Dainsleif...Can I truly trust him? He has helped me out on several occasions and he seems to hold vital information regarding my Brother ー Yet why does he keep secrets from me? He knows more, I just know it. Something happened between Aether and him in the past, but he always evades the question when I bring it up.
Haah...I swear, men are so bad at communication. Next time we meet, he's not getting away again though. He will fess up everything he knows, mark my words!
...
But I suppose, I also feel a little bad for him. He lost a sibling too and from what I've heard, there's no hope that the two of them will ever be reunited.
...Do you think Aether would agree to the two of us 'adopting' him as our older brother? I mean, our hair colors already match so we could totally get away with it. 」
