I am the same way when it comes to stress break outs. Though, I stress about almost everything in life so I am constantly looking for another face cleanser that will help me out this time... Man someone needs to make a blog about ways to reduce stress haha
#Stressed
My first semester is coming to an end which means exams. This also means stress. Don’t get me wrong though, I love my program. Public Relations was definitely the right choice for me. I also think because I enjoy this program so much, I experience less stress about the work than I did in high school being forced to learn math. This doesn’t mean I don’t experience stress at all, I do but in different levels.
Last week, my event planning team and I executed our Night of Brain Games for Meningitis at GamesonTap In Waterloo. It was a major event for our course and though it turned out being a success, the pressure we felt from weeks of planning, and meetings was intense to say the least. My face broke out like I’ve never seen before. My chin/nose area was a disaster zone of big, red, painful zits that no matter how many times I wash my face. My many attempts at face masks had no result and eventually I just left my face to deal with it’s shit as I did the same in real life.
For some odd reason stress motivates me. The mixture of fear and anxiety creates some sort of hype inside me and this is when I get most of my work done. For example, a few weeks ago in one of my classes, my classmates and I were assigned to write a two minute speech and memorize it overnight and have it ready to present. The next morning the class was abuzz with dread and doing bad on their speeches. I, however, was kind of excited and I think it showed because I ended up getting a really good mark on it (98%).
I’d like to say im prepared going into this semesters exams, I did well last term so I can probably do good again this term… right? Well I’m hopeful. I’m staying on top of my work for now and my clear skin backs that up. But my skin does seem suspiciously clear right now…. almost too suspicious…

I hace always. always wanted to travel to Spain. This story just gives me more motivation to want to go there. I am scared I will love the food there too much and not want to come home! haha
Nova Icaria Beach - Barcelona, Spain
Two years ago, I was lucky enough to travel to Spain as a part of a high school trip. I had never travelled outside of North America before, and definitely had not been on such a long plane ride over the ocean before. The trip was absolutely incredible; we visited Barcelona, Madrid and Toledo over ten days.
My favourite part of this trip was the day we spent on Nova Icaria Beach in Barcelona. Our days were often filled with scheduled tours and meals, but this was a day that we were free to do as we pleased. The weather so far on the trip had been drizzly and overcast, but the sky cleared up for our beach day and the temperature was much more pleasant. The first thing I did when I got to the seashore was wade into the cool water of the Mediterranean sea. We spent a few hours of our morning strolling down the beach and the port, enjoying the view.

When it was time for lunch, we decided to browse the strip for a popular restaurant. The strip was bustling with people enjoying the warm air and sunshine, popping in and out of small shops and cafes. There was a mix of older stone buildings and new ones with walls of concrete and glass, all built on the cobblestone-paved road. We found a cool burger joint called “Maka” with outdoor seating and decided to try it out. The restaurant was very appealing and had a tropical vibe: smoothies served in coconuts, walls lined with tiki torches, windows pained vibrant colours and palm fronds used as shutters. The menus were brought out by a bilingual server, who encouraged us to try and order in Spanish. The menu was colourful and fun, attached to a cork clipboard, and almost every item on it was accompanied an English translation.

I ordered a burger with a beef patty, brie and goat cheese, smoked red peppers and a balsamic glaze, along with a smoothie of blended mango, papaya, pineapple, coconut water and rum. I remember this so well because the meal was so exquisite; I wouldn’t change anything about it. My friends all had the same experience with their food. I wish I could find a burger joint as good as this one somewhere in Canada, but I have not had any luck yet. We left the joint pleasantly full and a little bit buzzed, off to explore the rest of the beach until sundown. If you ever happen to find yourself in Barcelona, definitely swing by.

Tennessee.. I’m Coming Back
One of my most fondest memories, will forever be my trip to Tennessee. 9 days. 5 people. 3 destinations, and 1 truck&trailer.
We began our trip very early in the morning, and for anyone who knows me well they know I despise mornings. But for this particular morning, I was up and excited about being awake.
From the beginning of our trip down to the states, I knew this was going to be one of my favourite trips as it began with a morning glory muffin (no coconut, ew) and a nice hot chocolate!
Clearly since the drive down is super long for one person to go through the entire drive, we stopped in Ohio along the way, making it out first destination on our Tennessee road trip. We were only spending the night here, so we didn’t set up the whole shebang, but we did walk around the entire campground (it was a little one) and met some great people along the way!
The next morning we packed up, and hit the road again, this time with Nashville Tennessee as the destination in mind!! This was the most exciting part! The drive was much more scenic than I imagined it would have been, so I was loving every minute of it.
Had the most amazing time in Nashville. Visited the Gaylord Hotel, holllyyyyy molyyyyyyyy. A whole ecosystem lives inside that hotel. River running through it with a waterfall and everything. 10/10 would recommend even just visiting that hotel. We also did a lot of touristy things, like going to the Country Music Hall of Fame.. I was in love the whole time I was there, (huge country music fan for those who don't know).
After Nashville, we went to Pigeon Forge, thats where this picture was taken, in the Smoky Mountains. We went all the way to the top... well I made it half way, and then found a new found fear of heights! Yikes haha Pigeon Forge was amazing. Everyone was very small town Southern hospitality type. In Pigeon Forge we went to Dixie Stampede and watch a comedy show and of course did other touristy things.
I will forever remember my trip to Tennessee, and I cannot wait to go back. Summer 2017, I’m coming for ya.

Great tips! A lot of things I wouldn’t have thought about using/doing. As a fellow college student, knowing some of these is great!
College Student Skincare: My Must Haves
So, before I get into talking about all things makeup I thought I’d start with a post of something that should ALWAYS happen before makeup: skincare. I am obsessed with taking care of my skin and finding amazing products that work for me. As I’m getting older I’m really starting to learn the importance of taking the steps to care for your skin and how taking preventative measures now will help immensely in the future years. I have a list of essentials that I think all college students should keep in their bathroom to keep their skin looking their best, plus they’re super fun to use. I’m also including the specific products that I use and swear by.
1. CLEASNER AND CLEANSING BRUSH
The obvious step to maintaining good skin and preventing breakouts is washing your face. Along with using makeup wipes at night to remove my makeup, I think finding the right cleanser for your skin type is so important. A cleanser that works well for very oily and acne prone skin might not work well on someone with more dry and sensitive skin. I love wearing makeup but one of the best things after a long day is washing my face and feeling fresh. It’s not a necessity but I invested in a battery powered cleansing brush and I love it. I feel like it gets dirt and makeup off much better than just using your hands. I have breakouts once in a while but generally I have more normal to combination skin. My favorite cleanser is the Soap and Glory Vitamin C Facial Wash http://www.soapandglory.com/ca/face-soap-and-claritytm
2. MOISTURIZER
Personally, I can’t live without a good face moisturizer. It serves so many purposes. It hydrates and replenishes skin after cleansing and also prepare the skin for makeup so it has a smooth surface to apply to. If your face tends to feel tight and dry after cleansing, using a good moisturizer in the morning and at night will help with that and make your skin feel more hydrated and comfortable. Some people with oily skin think they don’t need a moisturizer because they think it’ll make their skin more oily, that’s completely false. If skin is overly dry, it’ll go into overdrive and produce more oil, so properly moisturizing will help balance all skin types. I use the Aveeno Daily Moisturizer with SPF during the day under makeup and the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream at night fore intense hydration. http://www.aveeno.com/product/aveeno-+positively+radiant-+daily+moisturizer+broad+spectrum+spf+15.do

3. MASK
Who doesn’t love a good face mask? Masks are great because you can get one that tends to your specific skin needs, there are so many on the market. I love doing pamper nights with my roommate and using face masks. They feel so luxurious on the skin and can really make a difference in your skin. I love so many masks, my favorite sheet masks are the SEPHORA brand ones and they come in over 10 varieties for different skin types.

4. EXFOLIATOR
Exfoliating is something that I think makes the biggest difference in my skin . Exfoliators are usually also cleansers, but have little microbeads or are more gritty to really scrub the skin and get dirt and dead skin off. The grittiness gently scrubs off dead skin cells that you can’t see with your eyes and I am always amazed of how soft and smooth my skin is after exfoliating as opposed to just cleansing. I usually exfoliate 2-3 time a week or depending if my skin is acting up or not. There are countless exfoliators on the market but I like to use one that has a little bit of acne medication in it because my cleanser doesn’t, so it works to fight breakouts but I don’t need to use it everyday. I love the smell of the Neutrogena pink grapefruit scrub.

You’re an amazing mom, and I know you’re kid will love you no matter what, as I was in Oliver’s position only some odd years ago, and my mom took your place. You will get through this and everything else life throws at you. Keep fighting <3
How it began...and ended.
“No matter how hard the past you can always begin again.” -Buddha
There were many days throughout my 20′s, I thought about changing my life, there was so many times I wondered what the hell am I doing with myself. I spent every weekend pouring pints in a bar or cleaning up other people’s food slop. I wished I would’ve gone to school for something or done anything other than work every night and weekend, serving drinks and smiling. Don’t get me wrong tips and the bar life is addicting. You always have cash and endless friends to go out partying with. However, it’s not an easy life style to keep up with, especially when you are 29 years old, pregnant and in a toxic relationship.
People always say there is one specific moment you have where you see the light and change your ways. For me, that was April 7th 2015, at exactly 7:27 pm when an 8.6 lbs dark haired little boy entered the world, entered my world and became my reason. Oliver (named after Oliver Twist) made me see, I had the power to change anything and everything.
I always remembered rolling my eyes and gagging, hearing my friends talk about how much they’d do for their kids and the love only a parent could feel. I thought they were all crazy, literally like I worried about them, like you worry about a friend that has addiction problems. Once I had Oliver, it all made sense it is an addiction, an addiction that forces you to depend more on caffeine and to shower less, it feels like you can never get enough even on the bad “trips” aka days. That little boy made me decide to get out and to start over. He deserved it. We deserved it.
That first step, leaving and taking Oliver to move in with my Mom aka Nana was the best thing I could have done for us. It wasn’t ideal, I mean who wants to move back in with their mom in their 30′s? Definitely, wasn’t in my original plans. However, thanks to my wonderful mom and her never ending motherly advice, suggestions and constant pressuring, I went back to school. In September 2016, I started Public Relations at Conestoga College. So far, it’s going pretty good and I actually might be on the right path to never cleaning up other people’s food slop.. HAHAHA who am I kidding I have a two year old.
Let me tell you being a student and a single mom with a crazy toddler is difficult, but I wouldn’t change any of it

I like to think it was not too long ago that I travelled to the “Windy City”, but come to think of it, its been almost 3 years.
Being in Chicago, was one of the best times of my teenage life so far. Being able to travel there with friends is what made it even more interesting. Staying in a hotel and just being able to act like tourist for a week was great.
I learned so much about a city I would have never known, had I decided against going. But I got to cheer on the Cubs, listen to an amazing Quartet and learn about Al Capone and his gang. Not too many people can say, they saw the bullet holes on the building where the gangs used to have their shoot outs.
If there was anything I could recommend to people, it would be to go to a place like Chicago and act like a tourist, but also get the culture in as well. Go to places that you wouldn't normally go and eat some of the food there, that you might not eat back home. Don’t stray away from the things that aren't your “norm”. You are away from home for a reason. I met some of the greatest people on this trip because I stepped out of my comfort zone and learned how to blend into the culture.
Side note: Old Chicago, where some of the buildings still stand after the huge Chicago fire, have some of the most beautiful architecture, would 100% recommend checking that out!
Comment a time you ever stepped out of your comfort zone when travelling.
