Country music does NOT deserve the hate it receives. Just let Waylon sing about how crazy he is and Willie’s lived long enough let’s let him do whatever the fuck he wants!!!

It’s almost as if artists nowadays have run out of things to sing about? Like every song seems to have the same few subjects; beer, women(preferably blonde and in short shorts/skirts), trucks, their mamas, TRUCKS, “man I wanna be just like Johnny and June”(even though their relationship was INSANELY toxic and I recommend looking into it), hometowns, trucks, guns, did I mention trucks?

Country music lacks the story telling and diversity artists like Willie, Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, Charley Pride, Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn brought into the subject. It’s just modern pop with a southern accent now, it’s almost strictly southern as well! I get that it’s always been mainly southern but what about artists such as Stompin Tom Connors or Neil Young? They fit themselves into the country spectrum as well.

Everyone may *think* they hate country music, but when Jolene, Before He Cheats, Take Me Home Country Roads, or Life is a Highway comes on, everyone is suddenly a liar.
