War of the realms WIP

I can't decide if I should write the fic in first person or third person.

First Person

Once we arrived, we bowed and courtsed to our parents and joined them at the table. "Nice of you two to join us!" Father chortled, and I grinned back. "Sorry, father. We were studying in the library and lost track of time." The queen smiled mischievously at me,"You mean Hikari studied while you slept." We all bursted into laughter before quieting as the food arrived. As Hikari and I ate, We noticed mother and father exchanging glances. This kept going until dessert when they finally decided to speak up,"So Hikari, we heard from one of your maids that your vision had led you to tears. Could you tell us what you saw?" I frowned and looked at my sister. Why was that their first question, shouldn't they be more concerned about how Hikari is feeling? And was Hikari going to tell them? She seemed to want to keep it a secret, but I don't know if our parents are exempt from that. Hikari smiled politely, "I simply had a vision of a child losing his pet dog to sickness. The boy's cries and the dog's whimpers brought me to tears." Our parents nodded, and mother got up to give Hikari a hug."I'm so sorry to hear that sweetie." Hikari hugged mother back, and said,'' Thank you mother, You wouldn't mind if Taichi and I went to the Gardens after dinner? I think I could do with some fresh air after today." Mother cooed at her," Why, of course sweetie! If you want, you two can go now? You will have to miss dessert though." "I think we can wai-" I was cut off by Hikari grabbing my arm," I think we'll do that!" She dragged me from my seat and through the door. "Hey! I wanted to eat dessert!" She snickered,"I thought you didn't want to wait to find out?" I jokingly scowled,"That was before it kept me away from desert."

Third Person

They were captured. He had hoped they would have been able to sneak aboard the ship and save the Phoenix that the pirates had taken, but while they were searching, they were knocked unconscious. The captain of the ship stood before them,"I see we have some more stowaways. First, on our ship with the angel, now this one. You too wouldn't happen to know the three on the other ship, would you?" Her smile widened. "The blessed princess, and another angel would make quite the price on the market. And you must be the soon to be king. That's quite the catch." He felt Yamato tense beside him, and he couldn't stop himself from glaring. She eventually walked away and when she did, he felt a tug on his bonds. He turned his head and was meet with the face of a merfolk removing his bonds. They put a finger to Yamato, signifying to get his attention. He nodded and nudged Yamato with his arm. Yamato glared at him til he spotted their new companion. He blinked in surprise as the merfolk waved to bring his arms closer. He did and was delighted to find out the being was freeing him. Once Yamato was freed, Taichi spoke to their new friend,"Go to the other boat and help our friends." And after a minute added,"please." They smiled and nodded, before vanishing back into the ocean. Taichi and Yamato got up to continue their search for the Phoenix.

People said that there were beings that held power over parts of this world. Some were said to control the sea and others the wind. People believe they are the reason for the Phoenixes, and merfolk. They were refered to as the "Divine".
