Man the MCR fandom has GOT to let go of the chip on its shoulder re: teenage girls being made fun of for liking the band…it’s part of the band’s mythos for sure and can be acknowledged but the people who were teenage girls in the 2000s are in their 30s now, and people who are currently teenage girls are living in a very different world. It’s really not cute to just act like an entire fanbase is beyond criticism because it was at one point the subject of derision from shitty dudes. It’s a very different beast now especially from the outside looking in…it’s not that people don’t still get made fun of for liking the band but getting made fun of is like, not that big of a deal lmfao. People got made fun of for liking One Direction and shit and that didn’t make that fanbase inherently ethical and also didn’t ensure that the music was any good. We gotta find a different angle here.
