there’s no right or wrong way to look at this, but just to be clear: 

my take on the memory thing as it relates to narnia is that the younger children (edmund and lucy) forget london and then narnia much more quickly and more completely than the older two. susan and peter, being twelve and thirteen when they first go to narnia AND when they come back, retain clearer memories. in my opinion, these memories fade somewhat between the end of tltw&tw and pc, becoming almost dream-like, but after returning to cair paravel the memories are re-ignited. (i’ve already written about susan, her memories, and the way that moment impacts her, and i’m too lazy to do it again here.) it means more to her later arc if she does remember / believe in narnia but chooses to deny it. her memory isn’t perfect, and she tends to remember the bad more than the good, though even this is often more choice than happenstance. it’s rationalizing her “forgetting” to herself, and she does it well.
