𝐍𝐀𝐑𝐑𝐎𝐖𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐄𝐘𝐄𝐒, 𝐒𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐄 𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐃, z mumbled to herself, ‘ you’re such a bad liar. ’ it was hard to miss how he slowed down for her, especially when he just had to comment on it as if it was physically impossible for him to go one day without reminding her that she was half of his size. ‘ you literal brat. i swear, one of these nights when you’re passed out because i fucked you into oblivion, i’m cutting you off at the kneecaps so you can’t ever make these dumbass jokes again. ’ she’d die before admitting that she liked it; when they’d lay curled together or he’d let her lean against him when they hung out and smoked together, feeling small next to him was comforting. he made her feel safe even when she knew it was stupid to think so. ‘ okay, maybe i’ll keep you around if that’s what you’re making. if it’st hat good, you might even get a second date out of me. ’
wes couldn’t help but let out a small laugh before he glanced around the store to see a few people looking their way. “alright, you don’t need to let the whole fucking store know that you fuck me into oblivion.” his tone was hushed and more playful than actually mad before he walked with her towards the front of the store so that they could check out. “also, i’d just like to point out that even if you did manage to cut me off at the kneecaps i’d still be taller than you so your plan is incredibly flawed.” he stated as they arrived to self-checkout and he began to scan their various items and his ridiculous amount of candy that he’d put into the cart when they first arrived. he didn’t mention anything about the price of the ice cream but he did look at the label wondering why it cost that much in the first place. “i thought you were keeping me around because of the sex and my incredibly good looks?” he enjoyed how easy this all was with her even if it wasn’t the most conventional first date, it seemed to fit them well. “might even, huh? that means i’m on the right track.” he wiggled his brows playfully as he paid for everything. “alright, hop on. let’s give those legs a break.” he stated as he let her put her feet on the cart before he strolled them out of the store.

‘ 𝐈'𝐌 𝐉𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐍𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝐖𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐆. ’ she shrugged, smirking to herself as her head gave a slight shake. ‘ especially not about ice cream. vanilla is the best. you know what you’re getting. you can’t mess it up. even if you go to a different brand or you go to a specialty shop where you’re paying ten dollars for a cone because the cows are grass fed, vanilla ice cream always tastes the same. it doesn’t build itself up to be something it’s not and it doesn’t disappoint you. ’ as she stood, getting philosophical about dairy desserts, zsnatte wondered if he would call her crazy or tell her that she’d put too much thought into this and it was some kind of symbolism for something else in her life. deciding to change the subject and stick to that, z rolled her eyes and doubled her steps to keep up with him. ‘ if you think telling me that i look good is going to get you laid tonight then you’re sorely mistaken. i don’t fuck on the first date. ’ and they weren’t going to make it to a second date if she had anything to say about it. ‘ i gave up my recipe, so what are you making? ’
he listened to her reasoning carefully, she did make some valid points but for the most part it felt as though she was using the ice cream as a metaphor. but he wouldn’t mention it, just nod in agreement as he let her be right. “okay? that’s not why i was saying that. really do look good and i thought you should know.” he defended himself playfully before he picked out his bread and tossed it into the cart before he moved to the next aisle, slowing down a little when he noticed she was almost running. “sorry, sometimes i forget that my strides as a giant are about twenty steps for you.” a chuckle left his lips before he began to grab some other items to toss in the cart, very careless about anything breaking. “technically, you didn’t give up your recipe you just stated what you making.” he teased her before he grabbed a variety of cheeses. “fettuccine alfredo with chicken. unless you don’t want any chicken then we’ll just have the fettuccine with the sauce. up to you.” he stated before he looked at the cart that had various items except for pasta and sauce. “alright, i’m ready.”

‘ 𝐈'𝐌 𝐃𝐄𝐂𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐃𝐋𝐘 𝐈𝐆𝐍𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 you just said so that i don’t have to waste my time having to remind you that i’m always right and you know it. ’ rolling her eyes, zsnatte kept close to wes and tried to imagine that this wasn’t such a disgustingly domestic display that she could ( unfortunately ) get used to. it wouldn’t end well, she reminded herself, nearly missing his question and dazedly asking, ‘ what? oh. vanilla. obviously. the supreme flavour and that’s a fact, so don’t even try to argue. ’ reaching for the brand that had the fanciest sounding name and the highest price ( wes was paying after all and when else would she get to shop for suburban becky overpriced non-gmo madagascan vanilla bean ice cream ) , z shrugged her shoulders and passively admitted, ‘ i’m going to make a pie. it’s like the one thing that i know that i won’t fuck up. it’s honestly impossible to fuck up. and you have, but you can keep telling me i look good. for myself, not you. ’
wes playfully rolled his eyes at her comment before he added, “does that mean that even when you’re wrong you’re right?” a brow raised as he slowly strolled the cart further into the frozen section with her. he knew that this was their first date but it felt a lot easier than most first dates were, it was almost as if this was supposed to happen. he scoffed as she mentioned that vanilla was the superior flavor. “are you serious? i know you just lectured me on how you’re always right but i’m gonna need to hear your argument on this one before i can accept that you’re right.” he took the ice cream from her and placed it in their cart before he continued down the aisle. “alright, so since you’re making your signature pie then i guess it’s only fair that i make you my signature dish.” he nodded as he mentally began to make a list of everything he’d need. “you look good.” he repeated, but this time by her ear in a low whisper before he continued out of the aisle and heading into the bread aisle to pick out the perfect french bread.

TWO YEARS AGO ON APRIL 14, 2018 — BEYONCÉ HEADLINED COACHELLA
She became the first black woman to headline the festival, and her performance immediately received widespread critical acclaim and was nicknamed “Beychella” by fans. Following the performance, Destiny’s Child sales boosted by 767% and Beyoncé’s by 228%, with Lemonade returning to number one on the worldwide iTunes chart.
Beyoncé’s performance garnered 458,000 simultaneous viewers to become the festival’s most viewed performance to date and the most live streamed performance of all time, with the entire performance having 41 million total viewers from around the world, 75% more than the previous year.
“I told Beyoncé that I was afraid that the predominately white audience at Coachella would be confused by all of the Black culture and Black college culture, because it was something that they might not get. Her brave response to me made me feel a bit selfish and ashamed. She said, ‘At this point in my life and my career, I have a responsibility to do what’s best for the world, not what is most popular.’ I stand corrected.” — Tina Knowles-Lawson, Beyoncé’s mother, on her daughter’s 2018 Coachella performance
