And I can’t remember what episode this happened in but I remember Edwin talk about how the demon that he was sacrificed to traded his soul around. So like Edwin was functionally a slave meaning that he’s hell was not his personalized hell but whatever the demon that owned his soul wanted it to be

Ok no like literally cause the airport they would mostly likely be going to is SeaTac cause they’d have to be flying internationally and that’s in the opposite direction of where the Port Townsend ferry would take you. The thing that really annoyed me though was the Point No Point lighthouse episode cause I spent the whole time trying not to yell “Point No Point isn’t fucking in Port Townsend and even if it was it wouldn’t look like that”

I am not far into Dead Boy Detectives, but if they talk one more time about leaving Port Townsend on the ferry, I might ragequit. It's just VERY clear how this wasn't just filmed in BC, but quite possibly the makers never even visited Port Townsend or done a maps search to figure out how to get there.

Port Townsend has one (1) ferry, and the Kennewick only goes to Coupeville on Whidbey Island. You will not get to any major airport that way.

I know it doesn't sound as cool or whatever, but take the bus, kids.

I'm actually a little bit bummed that Dead Boy Detectives didn't film anything in Port Townsend, I would have loved to have been an extra. Like I get Vancouver is where pretty much all PNW set stuff is filmed but like you couldn't even just get a couple exterior shots or something?

i feel like i'm of the small minority that doesn't feel cheated by the way niko and crystal's friendship turned out to be from niko's introduction with the sprites. like i think their connection is beautiful regardless of where it went, and while i can understand the bright colors may have been misleading on one end, i highly doubt it was anything too intentional. (or maybe i'm giving the showrunners way too much grace)

I reblogged about this on another person's post, but it's too important to me to not have my own post about it.

I'm hearing that some people might be coming for Crystal Palace of Dead Boy Detectives for "getting in the way" of Charles x Edwin, i.e. Payneland.

Let's be clear. I adore angsty friends to lovers as much the next hopelessly romantic queer (sort of) guy. But what we're not going to do is become yet another fandom that denigrates a female character because we see her as an obstacle to a mlm ship. It honestly kind of triggers me, and it can never not feel at least a little biphobic to me. I am sure that is not the intention of the vast majority of people with this take, but that's just what my past experience in the numerous fandoms that have done this makes me jump to first.

I want us to think about this. If Charles is currently or eventually in love with Edwin back, he will be confired bisexual, or some other non-monosexual identity, or just fucking queer and vibing. And that means his attraction and feelings for Crystal, and their ship, should be respected as a part of his story and the story of the show. Let a girl live. Don't erase Charles's attraction to women, and leave space for non-monosexual identities. Let's all be mature queers about this, and breaking the fucking cycle.

We're not about to tear a bestie down just so our male leads can kiss. We're better than that. I hope we can be better than that.

Oh my god yes I was so cool to see stuff set in pnw that isn’t just Twilight. But then when they mentioned Point No Point I got really excited cause I was like I know that place I went there all the time as kid but then I thought about it for second and was like wait a minute I live like an hour away from Port Townsend there’s no way Point No Point’s in Port Townsend, which it isn’t. Also it’s not like there isn’t a point in Port Townsend like Point Wilson is right fucking there. Also neither Point No Point or Point Wilson look anything like what was in the show

I’m from the pnw and live close to Port Townsend and I just think it’s so cool that the dead boy detectives is set there. It’s such a small lovely place. It was so distracting though seeing it and all the things that are absolutely not in port Townsend but yeah just love that!
