in case you havent seen this post (or just don't want to read it), tumblr might be selling art posted here to midjourney AI. most likely very soon.

i have no idea if this is true, and i'm skeptical to believe something with no proof, but this is a very good reminder to export your blog and be using glaze or nightshade on all future art you post to poison the AI models. if they really are going to give art to AI, deleting your art will do next to nothing unless you can get every person who's ever reblogged your art to delete it, which is just unrealistic. if the deal doesn't go through, poisoning AI models through your art is good practice anyway.

Your personal triggers and squicks do not get to determine what kind of art other people make.

People make shit. It's what we do. We make shit to explore, to inspire, to explain, to understand, but also to cope, to process, to educate, to warn, to go, "hey, wouldn't that be fucked up? Wild, right?"

Yes, sure, there are things that should be handled with care if they are used at all. But plenty more things are subjective. Some things are just not going to be to your tastes. So go find something that is to your tastes and stop worrying so much about what other people are doing and trying to dictate universal moral precepts about art based on your personal triggers and squicks.

I find possession stories super fucking triggering if I encounter them without warning, especially if they function as a sexual abuse metaphor. I'm not over here campaigning for every horror artist to stop writing possession stories because they make me feel shaky and dissociated. I just check Does The Dog Die before watching certain genres, and I have my husband or roommate preview anything I think might upset me so they can give me more detail. And if I genuinely don't think I can't handle it, I don't watch it. It's that simple.

My DSMP Content

For some clarification and to explain some of the moves I have been making that have been happening over the last few months. Anything and everything I had to do with DSMP has been put away and will probably never be brought out of the memory chest again.

Fics have been hidden or removed from ao3, and this is the permanent move. Apologize to anyone that was attached to the fics and was hoping for them to continue. I won't be answering or interacting with anything to do with the dsmp from this point on.

When reading fanfic keep in mind that for professional literature: 

Short story: under 7,500

Novelette: between 7,500 and 17,500

Novella: between 17,500 and 40,000

Novel: over 40,000

Fics over 40k are literally a novel written and shared for free.  If you have written a 40k+ fic, you have literally written a novel.

Twitter threads are incomprehensible and dense and while they insist you can be "ratioed," you technically never win a Twitter argument.

On Tumblr you can win so decisively, you force that blog to deactivate and then that post will drag around that user's dead fucking body for all of time.

Every time you see it, it's a victory lap around a coffin that we'll never bury. It's astounding.

I have been suspicious of Grian trying to woo BigB since the beginning, and with the amount of death, Grian has caused and staying green in Ep. 4 my suspicion grows. Look both Grian and Scar have on more than one occasion played the snake oil salesmen successfully.

It is probably me just thinking there is more to than there actually is, but just what if?
