Kinda back from the dead

Hey folks, long time no see. Here am I with an update of what has been going on and where this blog will be going for the foreseeable future.

1.) I've been buckling down on college shenanigans, part-time job hunting, and just trying to make things work in my life since everything has gone to shit.

2.) I've officially started writing The World of Atlas, and I'm currently working on Rosalie's story. It starts with her college life and then leading up to the birth of her daughter and then where her place is as a CEO. I have 7 chapters written, and I'm currently formulating the rest of it.

3.) This blog will get some MAJOR updates, I haven't figured out what exactly? But when I get there, I'll be sure to make another post regarding it.

4.) I don't know when I'll be back exactly? A semi-hiatus turned into a full hiatus? But I am still checking in every so often. I appreciate those who have stuck around, yall mean the world to me.

5.) As for threads, it's safe to say threads have been dropped because I've been gone for so long but I have no issues making new starters for anyone and I'll be replying to starters that are made for me when I'm ready to come back! Life as a college student is pretty hectic, and I'm doing what I can to make things work. Again, thank you for your patience, and I look forward to writing with you all again! ♡

please don't mistake silence for hatred. please don't mistake unanswered plotting messages as indifference, or a lack of enthusiasm towards you. considering the ages of most roleplayers, many of us have bills to pay, families to take care of, medical conditions to treat, appointments to make, classes to take, homes to clean, and lives to live away from the computer that are far, far more important than writing on tumblr — life has a tendency to get in the way of hobbies and fun things like this. be patient with your fellow writers. if it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out. of course you can set your boundaries, keep your space comfortable, and softblock whoever you wish, but do so while recognizing it's probably not hatred or apathy that keeps them from leaping into your dms with message after message. they probably love this hobby just as much as you... but sometimes life gets in the way.

Ever since her own death and coming back from it, she took the death of others very personally. It's one thing to talk about how they passed, it's another when someone spreads wrong information to the public.

Pushing that thought to the side, Tyler listens to Kharon speak and nods in response. ❝ I've heard some good mysteries and conspiracies but haven't heard much about aliens. Honestly? With the games my youngest sister plays, I think of those as conspiracies themselves. We never really know what's actually out there but I'd love to see it sometime. ❞ Upon hearing Kharon's joke, Tyler couldn't help but release a chuckle. ❝ Even with you sittin', I can already tell you're a big guy. If I wasn't fully staffed, I'd make you one of my bouncers. ❞

Tyler found it cute how Malia reacted to his cooking; it wasn't often he really got to look at someone while they enjoyed a meal of his. Most of the time, the people who sat at the bar were drinkers. Tyler never really cared for their reactions because, at the end of the day, a drink was a drink, and there really wasn't much feedback to give. The smile creeps on his features after hearing her compliment. There's a faint blush on his cheeks. She's cute and she's flatterin' me. Tyler thinks to himself waving it off bashfully. ❝ Now you're just bein' nice, you're makin' me blush, darlin'. ❞ he admits before meeting her gaze.

Hearing that her brother was developing his own restaurant, Tyler made an audible huh sound as he crossed his arms over his chest. ❝ Restaurant in The Golden State, huh? I might have to check it out next time I'm on the West Coast once he gets it up and runnin'. ❞ Tyler smiled softly; already, he was excited to see what food he'd get to try. ❝ Since it's yer mom's recipes, I'm assumin' it's gonna be a mom-n'-pop shop, right?  ❞

when Malia compliments someone, she almost always means it. in fact, there's never been a time when she hasn't meant it. and when she compliments Tyler's cooking, she meant that, as well. her burger was delicious, it was just the right kind of rare that she loves. and the flavors? astronomical. it tasted so good, she's sure she has burger juice dripping down her face, which is incredibly embarrassing if she does say so herself. she wipes her face when she goes to speak, looking at Tyler with a quiet laughter. "that's an interesting meal, but you know what i always say? can't knock something until you try it. i'm sure it was delicious. especially if it's your cooking." okay, so now she's just flattering him, isn't she? she just smiles, taking another bite of her burger, followed by a pop of a french fry. when she swallows, she continues on, "my brother is a cook, too. he's developing his own restaurant as we speak, over in San Diego. i'm sure it'll be a hit, especially with my mom's recipes."

So anything that deals with the four elements, my strongest connection to an element is Earth since I am passionate about plants and flowers. As of late, I've been working on teleportation and portal-making. ❞ Her smile is bright and confident. Just recently, she made a breakthrough in teleporting from one room to another, but she knows she'll be able to go wherever she pleases. ❝ How long did it take you to learn retrocognition? ❞

Malia smiles, looking around at all the herbs. it was impressive to say the least---she wanted to try all of them immediately. while she could certainly name the majority of them, she'd never been in the presence of most of them, not without a lot of work on her own part. she didn't sell herbs in her online shop, but now she was thinking of ideas for new items; she can't help but wonder if Victoria would work with her to make something new. it's an idea, that's for sure as she takes the offer and sits down next to her.

"that's really cool," Malia says, admiration clear in her voice as she looks at Victoria, a soft smile on her face. "i practice all kinds of magic," she admits, twisting her fingers together as she speaks. "but my favorite has got to be an ability i'm learning---it's called retrocognition. have you ever heard of it? it allows you to see someone's past, within limitations, of course. someone much stronger than i would be able to do it without permission, i'm sure, but i wouldn't dare look at someone's past without their permission---i think that's rude." a pause. "what about you?"

Watching Malia sip her drink, she chuckles softly at the humming sound she makes. ❝ You're welcome, sweetheart, ❞ the water demon says with a playful wink and a gentle tap of her hand on the wooden counter. A scent of magic lingers in the air, and Sloane has become accustomed to it, given that half of the bar patrons and the waitress are witches. However, Malia's scent was different. Sloane perceived the scent as something sweet, maybe even floral.

With the abilities of a demon, her senses were enhanced, even more significant than more vampires and werewolves. Sometimes, it was overwhelming; other times, it was tolerable. As Sloane looked over Malia with dark chocolate eyes, she finally parted her rose-tinted lips to speak. ❝ If you don't mind me askin', you wouldn't happen to be a witch? ❞ Sloane thinks about her question and decides to clarify. ❝ The reason why I'm askin' is because you have a specific smell about ya; don't worry it's not bad or anything, it's actually very nice. ❞

it's easy to say that Malia is impressed. she's been watching Sloane for a while, while she's sat here waiting for her own drink to be made. it's pretty outstanding, the work she does. she's got a real talent for mixing drinks, that's for sure. in her travels, Malia has seen quite a lot of bartenders, but not to be biased or anything, but Sloane might just be her favorite just by watching her. she places her chin in her hand, elbow on the bar as she watches her, fascinated.

then, Sloane is making her drink and she claps at the end, unable to help herself. she can feel people looking at her for it, but she doesn't care. "wow! that was very impressive! thank you." she said, taking the drink from her and taking a small sip. she hums in delight. "mmm, and it's good! i know i said it already, but thank you. it's delicious."

Waiting anxiously to see the reaction of Xerxes, a dramatic sigh of relief escapes Tyler's mouth as he places his hand over his heart. ❝ Oh, thank fuckin' god, ❞ Tyler stated as a grin spread on his features. ❝ I was worried that it might be too much for people; not everyone likes stew year-round, but I wanted to roll the dice. ❞ The eldest Atlas explained as he made a mental note to add the dish to the menu.

Hearing Xerxes question, he smiles softly and thinks back on his time in Seoul. ❝ I dunno if I told ya this, but my sister is the CEO of Atlas Technologies, and she wanted all of us, myself, Rosalie, and her, to be able to know the ins and outs of the company. When it was my term to be interim CEO I had to travel to Seoul for a business meeting. Whenever I travel, I try to find mom-and-pop shops and try homemade dishes. This sweet lil lady made me the best meal. Full spread and everything. ❞ Tyler explained his reasoning before continuing further.  ❝ She sat and ate with me, taught me how to eat things properly, and even taught me some Korean too, so whenever I wanted to order stuff, I could do it properly. Honestly? I'll go back to visit on my own time, maybe even trade recipes with her. ❞

Xerxes then followed Tyler towards the bar and took an empty seat. He looked over at the dish his friend just made for him. It was something he have never tried before. While he does appreciate Tyler's gesture, he wasn't sure if he's going to like it since Xerxes mostly eat vegetables. Besides, his visits on the Lion's Den had been regular and his usual meal orders are mostly vegetarian. He was fortunate Tyler had known his dietary restrictions.

"You're right, Ty. And you made a good choice so far." He commented before taking the spoon to try it out. There was a bit of spice to it, but he wouldn't mind because Xerxes is into spicy foods. Xerxes only nodded in approval, "It's really good for a foreign dish. It's not too spicy and the vegetables are just right." He complimented, "So, what made you think about cooking this one? Did you try this by yourself while you were visiting in Seoul?"

❝ Oh... ❞ Sloane replied softly, almost disappointed that the night was ending. As much as she enjoyed her lethal hobby, she found some enjoyment in spending time with someone who participated in the same activities she did. Of course, she never understood the whole mask thing that the other had on; at least his outfit didn't show any blood stains, unlike her usual attire that she constantly had to clean because sending people to an early grave always had the consequence of leaving a mess that ice even couldn't fix.

Tossing her hair over her shoulder, she thought of an idea. It was probably a bad idea, but she at least had to gamble. ❝ Well, I was thinking, ❞ she began to say as she did a jog to catch up to his side and a hop to stand in front of him. ❝ We should get food before we call it a night. We can't claim victims and call it a night on an empty stomach. Don't worry, I'll order takeout so you don't have to be seen. ❞ Sloane offered as she crossed her arms over her chest but leaned in to give him a little nudge with one of her elbows before pulling back. The last thing she wanted was to annoy him by invading his personal space, so she took a step back and relaxed her arms to pull out a black leather wallet from her jacket pocket. 

❝ Besides, I took that guy's wallet before I brought him to you, might as well use his credit card on a food place so the authorities can go on a goose hunt while they try to find the guy, even though he's a puddle. ❞

He still wondered how the other could consider herself so familiar to him, and why they have decided they were now partners in crime. Danny was certain he himself did not exude any particularly warm energies; even before becoming this way, he never had. Yet, here the other was. Though the other already knows full-well about his work, and often short temper, she doesn't seem to be heeding it ─ or perhaps she does, but instead decides to appeal cheekily nonetheless in the hopes that he'll have a change of heart and be social? To her credit, she has a valid point: it was no skin off anyone’s back to be so.

The ice show was a nice touch, he gussed. Not that he could do such thing; gutting a victim was a one and done thing.

"I think I'll be heading back for tonight," he really did not want to be out in the open these nights; people seem to be getting a little more desperate than he initially thought.

"Maybe another time." Well, he probably signed himself up for purgatory with that statement.

Victoria clapped her hands together in excitement as she took a moment to admire her handy work; the middle-aged Atlas didn't know too much about interior decorating, but when it came to flowers and plants? Setting the right vibe seemed to come easy to her. Above everything else, Victoria was happy that Isadora approved of how everything looked. She was already looking forward to putting the autumn decorations up, maybe even adding some herbs that most witches used for spells and potions.

❝ That sounds like a plan. This is my first time doing something like this, and I want to ensure your store gets the love and respect it deserves! ❞ Victoria stated as she moved closer to Isadora to take a peek at her checklist; looking up, she gave her head a slight tilt and nodded a few times. She could already see how it could all fit and blend in together. ❝ I think that could work, maybe even some small wooden or mock-tree stumps to really set the mood, I can even add some fake candles with LED lights in the flame so it has a mystic feel when it gets dark. Oh! Maybe even fairy lights, too? ❞ Victoria suggested, already seeing the final image in her head.

Once Victoria heard Isadora's suggestion about a soft opening, a smile began to spread on her features. ❝ Yes! I have my own little village who can attend; I know my brother would love to taste your pastries, and he might even ask for some recipes so he can learn how to make them in his free time if you're okay with that. And I have a friend named Harrison who loves nature just like me, so he can take pictures and post them on social media so you can get some customers! ❞

"Great!" Isadora exclaimed as she looked at the flowers. She loved the decorations so far and the colors of summer. It was nice she received help from Victoria when it comes to promoting her pastry shop business. It may have a rough start, but she was making progress and it was a good thing.

"I would take some suggestions, Victoria! We can do a few things at a time. There's no rush." She assured her, looking at the checklist to see what else she needed to do, "And perhaps the lounge chairs could be made of wood or a log to match up with the forest? I really wanna stick to this enchanted forest themed because these colours could attract more potential customers, especially when making business cards too!" A pause, then an idea, "What if we make a soft opening too? You know, invite our family and friends over to see what they think about it? I mean, I love having you helping me but I wanna hear from other people what they think and suggest too!"
