Our exhibition has opened since Sunday 11 March 2022 at @galleri_cc Sweden crazinisT artisT/Va-Bene Fiatsi (GH) @crazinist_artist , Tore Hallas (DK) @torehallas Shape/Build/Form 11/3-10/4 2022 Curated by Maria Norrman (SE) @c.maria.norrman and Arngrímur Borgþórsson (IS/SE) @aggiborg Galleri CC presents the duo exhibition Shape/Build/Form, with Tore Hallas (DK) and crazinisT artisT/Va-Bene Fiatsi (GH). Hallas and crazinisT contrast each other in many ways, although their meeting point are bodies which are marginalized, fetishized or discriminated against in their respective societies, as well as worldwide. Tore Hallas’s works focus on the discrimination of fat people like himself, as well as the desire for the body type. He gives voice to the necessity of being able to be different. crazinisT uses her own shape-shifting, gender non-conforming body in her performance and video works, as a tool to confront political injustice, violence, and objectification. Her art practice often take the form of performances to ritually protect and lament lost queer lives in her community in Ghana. In the exhibition we are confronted with their work, and their inherent power. We’re invited to observe, and take part in, the subtle and direct demands for the right to exist. Love letter from @ruzgar.buski after we first met in person. Dear Va-Bene I arrive, safe home but it is very cold here. Yes, it's a time of sitting with our emotions. The next step is self-care. We need to get you a personal email where you don't have to see work related stuff when you are looking for your hotel reservation for a weekend. VaB, we got to take care of ourselves. You need to take care of yourself. It's really about making small decisions every day. I don't think you need a special reason to take care of yourself. You should take care of yourself because you deserve care! Not because of any special reason, just because you are! That you exist! "The Virgo Full Moon is a time to heal. It's a time to sit with our pain, trauma, and heartache and give ourselves love and compassion. Virgo is the sign of the goddess, perfect unto herself. This archetype carries many gifts, but the most important one is the power to heal. This full moon comes to us after a long journey that spanned the past two years. It may bring up many emotions that were not processed at the time they were first felt. Now is the opportunity to sit with these feelings and know that you don't have to be perfect to be loved. Life doesn't need to be perfect, and, most importantly, you don't need to make the perfect decision every time. You also don't need to regret past decisions or make yourself suffer because of things you could not possibly have known.
