  Joe was reminiscing when he was pushed into the gym as he heard the door shut. Something must have really scared Natalie. He knew something wasn’t right.

  “It’s pretty creepy, isn’t it? You can hold my hand if you want to.” Was that too weird? Maybe he shouldn’t have said that. He laughed awkwardly and adjusted his bandana.

  “Hehehe...we don’t have to do that......” This couldn’t get anymore awkward, or so he thought. Hearing a door shut loudly, Joe hugged Natalie for comfort., but quickly pulled away.

  “I’m really sorry I’m being so weird. I’m just freaked out.”

Natalie nodded and looked around. “Yeah, Let’s go. This room is kinda creepy,” she admitted, and turned them both around. Turning off the light and shutting the door, she didn’t look back. They both walked pretty quickly away, and Nat was more than okay with that. 

Making it to the gym, she couldn’t help but smile at the memories of watching all her friends compete. Sure, she would get really into P.E. games and such, but never felt fit enough to join a sport. None of them really interested her, anyways. Looking over at Joe, she tilted her head. Didn’t he play….soccer? Yeah, he always had grass stains when she saw him. She grinned at the thought. 

Hr grin disappeared when she heard a noise in the hell- like footsteps. A shiver running down her back, she practically shoved Joe in the gym and shut the doors. With one hand still on the handle, she looked over her shoulder at Joe. “Sorry. I guess I’m a bit jumpy..,” she said, and smiled, despite the chill spreading through her.

Something Fishy || Joe & ??

  Joe decided to go as a fish to the costume party. It was funny and he liked to fish. Although, it was kind of hard to walk around and use his hands. Maybe he should have picked a different costume. It was so hot and stuffy. So thirsty....

   There weren’t many people at the punch bowl so Joe took his arms out of his costume and got a cup. It smelled kinda weird, but he was thirsty. Fruity.... Big. Why was everything getting bigger? No he was shrinking and falling to the ground. With a plop he fell to the ground and... he couldn’t breathe. What was happening? People were freaking out and Joe couldn’t breathe. He squirmed and flopped around needing ..air?

Joe went all out on his costume. He found something truly special.

 Why wouldn’t she just accept his love? He only wanted her to be happy, but she just couldn’t believe Joe loves her. Joe knew he would love her tomorrow and the day after that and forever.

 “I’m not sure why you won’t believe me, but I just want you to be happy. If you want me to leave, I will.” He didn’t want to leave her, but he would if she wanted him to.

  Nina had a crush on Joe? Joe would have been ecstatic if it weren’t for the fact Nina looked so sad. How could Joe love Eve when Nina existed. She hadn’t left his mind all day. Why was he such an idiot? Making Nina cry.

  “Nina I had no idea, but I can assure you I was 100% serious. Eve is a good friend of mine, but you are special. I would never joke about this. You are beautiful, smart, and just fun to be around. I never want to leave your side.” Joe must have loved Eve at one point, but it didn’t matter. Nina was the only thing that mattered. He needed to make her happy.

  “Nothing really. I’m still working at the carpentry and I moved in with Kurt in his apartment.” Joe realized he had really changed at all. Eve has been out traveling and he still works at the same place, has the same hobby, and lives with his brother.

  “Do you wanna go fishing?” Joe had forgotten he brought his fishing rod and some bait. Maybe this would be a good way to catch up....or not. Did she even like fishing? That was his hobby, not hers.

  “Maybe we could just go for a swim or get something to eat instead.”

And she reached out to grab onto his hand then, dragging him into the water.

“Come on, let’s swim!”

  Joe’s face flushed red when Nina held his hand. Joe was Nina’s hero?  Could she feel the same way? Joe smiled while following Nina into the ocean. He gripped her hand tight not ever wanting to let go. 

  The water was nice and it looked beautiful. Almost as beautiful as Nina. This was practically a date. Joe had to tell Nina how he felt. 

  “Nina,” Joe paused for dramatic effect, “.....I love you. Will you be my girlfriend?”

  Heart beating fast, Joe followed Nina. The water did feel nice. He loved the sun, but it was always good to cool down. A dip in the ocean sounded nice. Especially with Nina. Anything sounded nice with Nina.

  Joe stood by the shore, feeling the water on his feet, and watched Nina. It was odd. They knew each other since school, but now suddenly he couldn’t think straight. Love works in mysterious ways.

  “Remember when we were kids and we played on the playground together? I’m so glad we met. I’ve never met anyone like you before. Do you know how amazing you are?” Nina had to know and if she didn’t Joe would make sure she did. A girl like her deserves only the best.

  Oh man. The way she talked in third person was adorable. He tried not to stare, but she was just so cute. He almost didn’t hear what she said, so he was kind of surprised to see her run. She wanted him to chase her? That’s so cute. Joe smiled like an idiot and chased after her. 

  Nina was faster than he expected. She truly was amazing. Should he try to hit her or should he purposely miss? Hmm...Joe decided to miss. He aimed and fired. He was way off. Maybe that was too obvious..He fired again. This time he hit her in the back of her head. Oh no! I’m such an idiot!

  “I’m sorry Nina! Go ahead and spray me all you want!”

  Joe laughed as he was sprayed with water by Nina....Nina. Why had he not noticed before how beautiful she was. She was radiating in her pink swimsuit. The way her hair bounced when she ran towards him...It drove Joe insane.He stood there staring at her for a while before he decided to talk.

  “It’s umm nice to see you Nina. You look very pretty.” Joe felt himself stumbling over his words. Why was it so hard to talk? Those green eyes pierced his soul and he loved it. His heart was beating so fast he felt like he was going to throw up.

 Joe wandered the beach with his water gun looking for his first target. Happy, with his choice of swimwear he smiled. His blue, fish swim trunks were off the hook. Joe loved the beach and he loved playing games, so he was excited. The water would feel amazing on a hot day like this.Spotting a familiar pink-haired girl, he aimed and fired. Hitting her in the back, he laughed cheerfully. This would be fun.

  Joe was scared, but he didn’t want to ruin the fun. He decided to suck it up and look around a bit more. He was surprised when he felt Natalie’s hand hold his. He thought for sure she would be upset when he grabbed her, so he was just confused when she took his hand. Did she think of him as a little brother or something. Maybe he was acting childish.

  “Yeah, we can look around a bit more. Why don’t we go to the gym?” Joe had plenty of memories of trying to impress people by doing sports. He tried out for every team possible. Joe wasn’t great at most sports, but he enjoyed playing for fun. Soccer was definitely his favorite sport. He didn’t know why he loved running around the field, chasing a ball, but he did.

Natalie shook her head, confirming that she wasn’t messing with the lights. “I couldn’t have. I was in the storage room..,” she trailed off, motioning behind her. “I’m pretty sure we’re alone, as well.” When Joe held onto her, she felt a need to keep him safe. 

“It’s okay,” Natalie assured him, even holding his hand. She would of put an arm around him, but that was too uncomfortable for her. “If you want to leave we can. I just thought we could explore a bit more. Do you really wanna go?”

She looked up at Joe, the one who held a look of fear, and gripped her hand tightly. Even if this kid was scared, that was no reason to just quit and run.

  Joe laughed along with Eve as she hugged him. It had been so long since they last saw each other. Why were they torn apart?  He pulled away to take a better look at Eve. She had really...grown. Her red bikini suited her nicely. Joe felt his face get hot as he looked at her. She was just as beautiful as he remembered.

  “It’s been awhile! What have you been up to?”

  Joe was so pumped for Opening Day. He wore his favorite swimming trunks, blue with a fish pattern, and of course his favorite bandana. Kurt had already left before him and Joe had forgot to ask him if he wanted to be partners for the water gun fight, so he didn’t have a partner yet. Whatever, he was going to have fun!

 Walking around the beach, looking for something fun to do he spotted...no it couldn’t be. Eve? Was it really her? He quickly ran up to her, shouting.

  “Eve! Eve, is that you?!” He shouted waving his arms back and forth.
