“Is this some kind of joke?” Gavin was already having a terrible day, first he had run out of coffee and then a run in with Connor, and to top it all off more dead ends on his case! It didn’t help that his ‘partner’ was aggravating him more. For what purpose? It couldn’t be for any purpose like he said, since when did the android care about his anger? “Yeah, I ain’t getting my ass handed to me for beating the shit out of you.” He knew of the new android protection laws. That’s what the toaster had in mind, get him suspended or fired for assaulting an android. 

“If I didn’t know what you were onto, Tin Can, I’d hit you without hesitation.” Curse these androids, thinking they were above humanity now. Maybe his views on androids was harsh and one-sided but he’s had no reason to like them. As long as they stayed out of his way, there wasn’t a problem… Until your work partner was an android and getting in your business. It didn’t help that he knew what he was capable of. Gavin already got knocked down and temporarily paralyzed from Connor until he came around to Perkins and Fowler of all people when they found him. Gavin wasn’t an idiot, he knew Richard was stronger and that was also why he didn’t want to take chances. However, it didn’t mean he wanted it less.

Connor was just walking home from work, that was all but from there he had some glitch in his vision. He could see nothing but static, he could feel his processors lagging and a rush of white noise through his audio sensors until there was nothing. No sound, no vision and he couldn’t feel anything, something must have interfered with his systems and put him in low power mode. Connor activated a manual reboot as he could only see the progress bar and then his surroundings came into vision. He didn’t have audio just yet but he knew he had never seen this building before and he needed to get out of here and so he ran.

The android’s hearing came back online as he heard something chasing him, by the sounds of it, two things. He ran but a door closed in front of him and when he looked behind, there was another door closed and a robot in front of it. Was it going to attack him? Whatever their intention, they didn’t look friendly, they looked very much like a machine running on orders. Connor moved his hand to his hip and pulled a gun out of it, he didn’t want to use it but if he had to he would, he didn’t want to die or remain defenceless to be hurt or used for rA9 knows what. It wasn’t until a voice came out, not from the robot but from a speaker did he raise the gun.

“I will not answer to threats. I know what you did.” The voice must belong to the person in charge, it only made sense and so this robot must belong to him. It was difficult to tell as something was interfering with his system, he couldn’t scan or perform a lot of his functions for some reason, did he do something to him? Connor would just have to wait for now to be able to do something, all that mattered was getting information and useful ones not about aliens. Was the voice trying to confuse him? “Looking at your robot I can only guess what you have planned for me.” Connor’s programming or his parts to make the robot seem human, that assumption made the most sense. “Talk or I will shoot. Your robot won’t be around for long.” Connor was bluffing. He knew the chances of deactivating it was slim but he had to be confident in this, hopefully his captor didn’t know his actual limits.

While keeping an eye on the road, Nix shook his head. He wasn’t Connor, nor did he want to be, he wasn’t some clone or another version. Sure, his model was considered Connor and the upgrade but to Phoenix, that wasn’t who he was. “My name is Phoenix. I’m not Connor.” No matter what his model certificate said or what CyberLife had called him before, he wasn’t his predecessor. “I also assume your name isn’t Connor either.” Or one of the many colourful names Connor gave him, which was something new as Nix didn’t think Connor would say half of those things towards someone or even in general.

“I’m not doing this out of charity or for Connor.” Maybe it was best to explain himself, Nix didn’t think it was needed but at the same time he knew his intentions sometimes weren't clear to some. “I saw your files and Connor talked about what happened. It isn’t right for you to be thrown out, you still have purpose.” Maybe not the best wording but he did struggle sometimes putting his feelings to words but he tried his best. “It isn’t right for him and I to continue to function when you don’t.”

“I don’t know but it’s how the model is designed. Logically it makes the most sense as it’s where people taste from and a form of the senses. Plus it also already exists in ways in house androids for sampling food to make sure the cooking is perfect. This is just like that but for analysing on a more developed level.” Didn’t make it less disturbing though. Connie was thankful it wasn’t implemented into her like it was for Connor but he was the finished product, she wasn’t.

Phoenix looked at the human with a rather neutral look, looking at the gloves. “I saw you wear gloves but they don’t look warm. So I made those with the wool I had left over.” Pink wouldn’t have been his first choice of colour either but he ran out of black wool and the pink needed to be used one way or another. Nix was glad that Norman liked the gloves despite the colour, he’d keep that reaction in mind, Norman seemed to like it so he could make more things for him with the spare pink wool he had. Maybe a matching scarf to go with it. “I’m glad you like it.”

“Yeah, of course you do.” Yeah that was bullshit and he knew it, especially with how serious Nines seemed to say how he missed him. Why would Nines miss him? While Gavin wasn’t fond of androids and took it out on Nines a lot any sane person, alive or not, would be done with him and leave him alone. Yet the android didn’t. 

“Whatever, Tin Can.” Gavin really didn’t understand the android one bit. Every time he pushed him away and made it clear how he felt, Nines kept coming back. Of course they worked together and maybe that was the sole reason but even then he’s had a fair share of arguments, mainly with Hank but still. “What have I missed while I’ve been gone?”

Anon Asks: Random munday question! Do you like to interact with pretty much anyone or do you prefer mutuals only? What determines whether you decide to become a mutual or not?

Sorry for the late answer for this question! 

It’s a toughie. With this fandom I am more towards mutuals only but I love meeting people and talking. I’m open to talk and learn more about someone to interact with them and maybe I just admire how they write and just get intimidated.

I suppose if they’re a nice person and I like their writing, characterisation and interacting with them honestly. If I can consider them a friend then we’d be mutuals. 

I hope I answered well enough, anon! And just to say, if you’re asking to know, I’d be more than happy to talk if you wanted, I try not to be too intimidating.

Ava adjusted her glasses as she hummed a little, thinking about the question. She wasn’t one to exploit others, especially how hard parts were to come by and she knew the feeling. She was thankful she had this business to keep her running and parts to use in case she needed it but others weren’t so lucky.

ROLESCAPE is an accessible, aesthetically pleasing social networking website (and mobile app!) with a myriad of features that the roleplaying community, over multiple websites, have been begging for. Made FOR roleplayers, BY roleplayers, the site quite literally would not be possible without the help of the very community it’s targeted toward.

Rolescape aims to change the hassle of needing to use XKIT in conjunction with Tumblr to have an enjoyable experience. A website where the website itself is more than enough. Created by people who know what features you want to see. In only a couple weeks, this project has grown from an idea in one person’s head, a single post and an ask for help, to an entire community dedicated to bringing a much needed platform to the public—for writers, cosplayers, nerds, and role-players alike.

Connor only nodded his head, he knew what his machine self would do, which is why he understood why he didn’t belong with other androids. If he was reset, he would be a big threat to not only androids but humans that tried to stop him. “I am not a machine.” He had to keep reminding himself that the possibilities weren’t likely to happen and he needed to stop using what he could have done as an excuse to why he didn’t belong.

“I hope one day I can earn your trust.” He’d understand if she didn’t though, it wasn’t like he made much of an effort outside his duty as an officer to help androids. He kept to himself most the time.
