I can understand how "modern person thrown into the past gets by pretending to be a healer/doctor" is as surprisingly common of a trope as it is. I mean I'm fluent enough at bullshitting to be pretty sure I could pull it off to impersonate a doctor in any time pre-1800s. If I have no idea what something is or how to treat it, I could just get the opinion of the other whatever-passes-as-medical-professionals around, but if their suggestions sound like bullshit I'm not doing it. And I'll beat the shit out of anyone suggesting bloodletting or mercury. With my healing stick. I've tied little bells on it, that jingle comically with every smack.

The awesome curative powers of my healing stick come from two separate sources: Placebo, and me using it to beat anyone trying to give my patients mercury.

I really want childe to have an awful relationship with his family. I want there to be so much resentment that is never spoken out loud, towards childe for changing the family dynamic, and for the parents for sending their 14 year old mentally ill child to the army. I want his relationships to his older siblings to be so strained and broken. I want some to barely be able to look him in the eyes because of guilt, disgust, hatred, worry, fear. I want other siblings to not see him as their brother anymore, because the Ajax they know would never do the things this Ajax does. I want the parents to just not give a fuck about him because he is ‘to hard to deal with’ (struggling with mental illness). I want them all to secretly wish that he never came back from the abyss, because he didn’t come back the same.

With the younger ones, his relationship is a little better. I want Tonia and Anthon to be old enough to remember how he was before. They know that now he’s a harbinger but he still lies to them about his work. I want them to be able to see through it but not say anything. I want them to be confused on why the rest of the family mourns Ajax because, he’s. still. Here. He’s just a bit different now, but he’s still their brother and he’s trying.

With teucer, I want him to know somethings ‘wrong’ with Ajax. The mood in the family shifts when he’s brought up in conversation, but nobody will tell him why. Ajax also has too many scars for a toy salesman.

sorry if i'm gonna be quiet for a while. my country recently introduced laws that make it so that in order to use social media to the fullest (not being able to view ns/fw content and in a few cases, not even having access to dms), i HAVE to give the sites my id/face scan.

it goes into effect july 25th. it'll probably effect here too, since this place allows mature content (tho not full on ns/fw)

i'm very distressed about it bc i might end up not even being able to talk to my internet friends. i don't really have any irl ones
