I am a man for the Same reasons Dionysus created grapes and then taught men to make wine.
Because the gods have blessed us with the gift Of creation, the joy To make our own trophies.
I shall then tear apart This mismatched flesh, And grow myself a new Skin. Just like Dionysus
Was born from Zagreus’ Mutilated heart, I Came from broken dolls And torn out dresses.
Every once in a while I repeat this like a holy prayer (to Dionysus but mostly to Myself)

I'd like to devote a prayer and a depiction to Hypnos
Your wings, resting, shielding like curtains
To let you, the patient God, slumber,
Kept in the center of the spiral of your cave, bedded in
flowers and furs, lulled by the flow of the river Lethe
To you I call, youthful Hypnos
Son of the night, Bed of the soul
King of Dreamers, Father of dreams
To bless me through this night
Let your children
in their endless numbers
Visit me with kind messages
And keep mine as safe as you do me
Guide us into the next day
Ease us into the morning
So that we might be sensible in the tasks of tomorrow
And find our way back into our beds when it's done
I will praise you again
As I do tonight
For your drowsy softness knows no bounds

Happy Hermes Day 🪽

I recently started worshipping Hermes, devoting small things to him. Today, I went thrifting and found an old bracelet with roman/Greek coins on it.

You're very welcome! And yes, I think that would work great!!
Chat as a newbie HelPol can literally anyone help me with how to communicate/properly work with the Lord Apollon, Lord Hermes, Lord Dionysus, Lord Ares and Lady Persephone? I've only been doing this for a few months and want to know how to communicate better </3 I've been using dice because I don't know if that's an accurate way.. I'll accept any help </3

Same 😭 almost everything on my altars and such is stuff I already had. I just use one pendulum for all the gods, and mine also functions as a necklace! Welcome to the community!

The Gods love you.
Even when you spend days without lighting up their candles.
Even if you don't have an Altar.
Even if you don't feel their presence yet.
Even if you're not at tarot.
Or doesn't have prophetic dreams.
They still love you. And you know why?
Because you're you. And that's enough for them, your presence, your devotion, your well-being, is what truly matters for them.
So don't you feel pressured or sad, lovebug 💜💜

Hello hello!!! I'm pretty new as well, but I'll do my best! I don't worship Lord Apollon, Lord Ares or Lady Persephone but I DO worship Lord Dionysus and Lord Hermes!!!
Pendulums are great methods of communication for any god! And they're very simple to make/buy, mine is a necklace chain that I put some beads I had laying around on! Tarot is also good, but I don't have any personal experience with that. I've heard mixed reviews about candle reading, but I always really struggled with it personally.
Some of my favorite blogs with far more experience and such than myself include @atheneum-of-you, @khaire-traveler, and @dionysianivy!! I hope this helps!

31 Days of Hellenic Polytheism
Anyone can participate regardless of how long you’ve been a Hellenic polytheist! My hope is to use these questions to reflect on the year, and repeat next year to see what has changed, and hopefully to continue doing that every year!
Answer in as much or as little detail as you see fit. You are allowed to skip any questions that you are uncomfortable answering. These questions can also apply to heroes, not just deities. You can pick specific deities to answer each one, or answer the questions with all the deities you worship. This might apply to other Pantheons and I’m happy for it to be used as such. Feel free to tweak some of the questions to fit those pantheons if you’d like!
Please link this list on your posts with your answers so that it is easy for others to find if they want to participate too after seeing your answers.
THIS IS TO BE DONE DURING DECEMBER, I’M JUST POSTING THE LIST NOW SO PEOPLE CAN FIND IT!
Have fun!
DAY ONE: Who was the first deity you began worshipping? Do you still worship them now? If this has been answered before: how has your worship changed since last year?
DAY TWO: Which deity did you most recently start worshipping? Were you called to them or did you reach out first? Do you think there were specific reasons behind why you were drawn to them?
DAY THREE: How long ago did you start Hellenic Polytheism?
DAY FOUR: Are there any deities you don’t currently worship but want to learn about?
DAY FIVE: How much have you bonded with your deities?
DAY SIX: What’s one way you incorporate Hellenic Polytheism into your routine (daily, weekly, monthly, etc?)
DAY SEVEN: Are you openly a Hellenic Polytheist offline? How does being open/not being open effect your worship?
DAY EIGHT: Do you have altar(s)? If you do, how do you use it? If you don’t have one, do you want one? Why/why not?
DAY NINE: Is there a practice that’s common among other Hellenic Polytheists that you’re skeptical about?
DAY TEN: What’s something you’ve learned about Hellenic Polytheism that you wish you knew sooner?
DAY ELEVEN: What is the clearest sign you’ve received from a deity?
DAY TWELVE: Do you do food offerings or libations? What do you do with the food/drink after you’ve offered it?
DAY THIRTEEN: Do you write your own prayers?
DAY FOURTEEN: Do you have any hobbies that fit any of your deities’ domains?
DAY FIFTEEN: How has your worship changed you?
DAY SIXTEEN: If you could give one piece of advice to someone who’s just starting in Helpol, what would it be?
DAY SEVENTEEN: Send out some love! Are there any Helpol blogs here on tumblr that you follow and really like?
DAY EIGHTEEN: How can you best describe your relationship with each of your deities?
DAY NINETEEN: If you had to assign one song to each of the deities you worship, what songs would you choose?
DAY TWENTY: Do you have a favourite aspect of Hellenic Polytheism?
DAY TWENTY-ONE: Are there any retellings/adaptations of greek mythology that you LIKE? Why/why not?
DAY TWENTY-TWO: Is there an aspect of Hellenic polytheism you haven’t yet gotten to try but hope to in the future? Do you have any other Helpol-related goals for next year?
DAY TWENTY-THREE: What’s a bit of UPG you have with your deities?
DAY TWENTY-FOUR: What’s an offering you’ve made that you’re really proud of?
DAY TWENTY-FIVE: What was the most surprising thing you’ve learnt about Hellenic Polytheism or your deities?
DAY TWENTY-SIX: Do you celebrate any festivals? Which ones or why not?
DAY TWENTY-SEVEN: Share a fun fact about one or more of your deities which you think is underrated or not well-known
DAY TWENTY-EIGHT: What is your favourite myth?
DAY TWENTY-NINE: What is an aspect of your deities you really appreciate?
DAY THIRTY: Do you have a visual interpretation of your deities? Is this different from usual depictions you see of them?
DAY THIRTY-ONE: Share a positive experience you’ve had this month/year with one or more of your deities

Hello everyone!! I'm here to say that while tiktok is not the greatest in many ways, it's currently a REALLY good way to support people in Palestine! There's tons of links to gofundmes, and just watching and sharing videos can do wonders. Here's some people who you should follow and interact with. And doing so will cause more videos about the subject to pop up on your fyp. Make an alt account if you have to.

Very important reminder
Especially for new Helpols*
Please, please, PLEASE practice fire safety with your candles. If you are leaving your space, put out your candle. The gods will not be mad at you for doing so. Do not leave candles unattended.
I’ve seen so many newbies leaving candles alone with them melting everywhere, and it’s a horrible fire hazard. Please be safe.
Also please do research into Pyromancy as it is not the most reliable form of divination. Things like the airflow, the candle itself and other outside factors influence how it burns, not just the gods.
Once again please be safe and educated.
Blessed be 🌊

Devotional Ideas
Here’s some things I do in honor of Hypnos.
-Stuffed animals. It sounds childish, but I have a stuffed rabbit that I can’t sleep without in dedication to Hypnos. And when I’m sad, I hug it and cry into it as a means of communication. It’s me telling Hypnos I’ve had a bad day and need comfort. I always feel better afterwords.
-Late night music. I play music or sing as I get ready for bed. I usually pick a song with meaningful lyrics. It also helps me relax and sleep before bed.
-Hobbies. I practice witchcraft, and keep my supplies by my bed. I do this to show Hypnos that even though I do a lot of stuff independently, I still rely on him for his strength, love, and company.
-Sprays and lotions. I have a wonderful Poppy scented lotion that I found when I turned around at a dollar store and it was literally right in front of me. It was my Christmas gift and I love it. I also use Lavender sprays and incense as offerings, and to help give me good dreams.
-Dreamcatchers. I bought one and cleansed it, then did a long prayer session and asked Hypnos to use it as a portal to my sleeping form so that he may bless my dreams or speak to me in my dreams if need be.
