“Wait…a Muggle healer? What do you need to see one of those for?”
“Oh, Ronald…”
“Isn’t St. Mungo’s good enough? You’re not dying or anything, are you?”
“For Merlin’s sake, Ron, I already told you-”
“I don’t get it. What do you need a Muggle healer-“
“Doctor, Ron.”
“What d’ya need a doctor for that St. Mungo’s can’t help you with?”
“Ron…we’re having a baby.”
“We…what?”

“"Why do we continue looking inwards? Why?! Why do we fight each other about this piece or that piece of land? Why are we not looking outwards to the West? If we raided together, we would not need to fight amongst ourselves. We would not need to kill anymore of our young folk. But instead, offer them land, land that they can farm.” [x]

I have to say right up front that The Garrison Commander along with The Search and ½ of Both Sides Now are my least favourite episodes. While I admit it is great on its own it was a terrible waste of time that could be used on far more important things. Still, there are moments that I actually love and are among my favourites in the show.
The only “light” scene in the episode and therefor without a hesitation my favourite. It doesn’t hurt that it’s also an only scene with Claire and Jamie. It’s a bit different than in the book but I like the changes and Cait and Sam didn’t disappoint one bit.
Jamie telling Claire that he is a virgin is probably one of the most iconic moments in the book and Sam nailed it.
I hate that pompous English ass and his minions (Lt. Foster is a sweetheart though) but this whole scene was hilarious and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Even thinking about the faces Lord Thomas makes is cracking me up. This was also the only time I was 100% team Dougal. I just want to hug him here.
A weird choice, I know. I wish they included some of the things from the book but it was still really good. This was the first of many times that Sam broke my heart with his performance and I cried like a baby this whole scene. And I never cry. I get emotional, but I don’t actually shed tears. But this scene completely broke me. It’s basicly the moment I became an ugly-crying show watcher. No regrets.
… but the boy would not beg for mercy. The boy would not beg.
This is Jamie. The boy who would not beg. Not to save himself. But he will to save the woman he loves.
Not sure what to say about this moment except that I love it and it’s one of my favourites. Jamie desperately trying to stand up while slipping on his own blood is simply heartbreaking. God, whoever came up with this idea is an evil genius.
Claire taking charge in the room full of soldiers who probably all expect her to faint. Don’t hold your breath, gentlemen, she’ll outlast you all.
Yes Jamie, provoke this sadistic maniacal bastard some more. It’s not like he already wants to kill you in the most painful, slow and degrading fashion. I’m sure insulting him will help your case.
I always love it when Jamie looks down on BJR. Proud to the end. Foolish, with no sense of self preservation, but proud.
There wasn’t really much to choose from so I’m going with this one. Poor Jamie, it will be alright, you’ll see.
