Mildred "Millie" Swan, the heiress to Swan Cosmetics. She isn't a stranger to the tabloids, most recently spotted with Rusty Venture after ending her relationship with notable villain, Phantom Limb- just two names on a laundry list of powerful men she's held the attention of.

Something I try to keep in mind when making art that looks vintage is keeping a limited color pallette. Digital art gives you a very wide, Crisp scope of colors, whereas traditional art-- especially older traditional art-- had a very limited and sometimes dulled use of color.
This is a modern riso ink swatch, but still you find a similar and limited selection of colors to mix with. (Mixing digitally as to emulate the layering of ink riso would be coloring on Multiply, and layering on top of eachother 👉)
If you find some old prints, take a closer look and see if you can tell what colors they used and which ones they layered... a lot of the time you'll find yellow as a base!

Misprints can really reveal what colors were used and where, I love misprints...
Something else I keep in the back of my mind is: how the human eye perceives color on paper vs. a screen. Ink and paint soaks into paper, it bleeds, stains, fades over time, smears, ect... the history of a piece can show in physical wear. What kind of history do you want to emulate? Misprinted? Stained? Kept as clean as possible, but unable to escape the bluing damages of the sun? It's one of my favorite things about making vintage art. Making it imperfect!
You can see the bleed, the wobble of the lines on the rug, the fading, the dirt... beautiful!!
Thinking in terms of traditional-method art while drawing digital can help open avenues to achieving that genuine, vintage look!

my newest obsession:
mspaint traced Hankling oc.
Her name is Ruby Madison, she's a twenty something trying to break into the music industry with full support of her loving family. They found her floating in the ocean while yachting, deciding to adopt her after realizing she had amnesia. Maddi happily lives with her adopted family in New York.
Before she's able to make it big as a pop punk princess, she works in a coffeeshop while getting her associates.
(I stole these screenshots from fellow Tumblr users so thank you and sorry.)
might add a background to this later.
She is so fun to me and is seriously helping my art rut! Cringe is fun, cringe is king.

Everyone has been discussing these lately! I know everyone's been sharing them on a rant post I made that weirdly got more notes than I expected, but I wanted to make one post to compile all the MLP Vintage Butterick Patterns we have to document them!
Please check it out Here on my website where I have uploaded all of the images, provided additional information, and credited every single person who has helped me by scanning or sharing their information!
You can make: Christmas ornaments, plushies, or cute sweaters and cardigans.
All of these patterns are Officially Licensed g1 patterns! Enjoy and feel free to share with me if you make any of these fun crafts!

shel-ita bag ... I had a great time putting together this bag!!
there's some awkward bald spots so I look forward to finding more objects to put in the bag! (don't worry, Sheila is not a permanent resident :'3 I wouldn't suffocate her.)

bonus picture with Dr. venture . I need to figure out how to keep my cosplay decent- I look like a mess 😭

update

pipecleaner broke and poked my coworker :(
seems to be surviving though. my coworker uses it every day!
the long tongue is a good stim still, plus the bead inside. 8/10 would recommend as a quick little gift

a creature of sorts. (frog fidget toy, with bendy tongue and a bead inside) a gift for a coworker!

disclaimer: I dislike Harry Potter

below for quilt and life nonsense
so, this was my first quilt ever, a gift to my aunt. it was made 5 years ago, and now it is Tearing at the Seams. or lack thereof since I did not understand the importance of seam allowance at the time. I will add damage pictures to my next post lol. heed the word of your elders when they say you need a nice seam allowance.
it is another back burner project to fix the beast up. honestly thinking about running it through the sewing machine on the nonexistent ditches and then crying because it's tie quilted. there's some points I should probably do some hand work because it's so pulled apart or add patches?
Regardless of my dislike of Harry Potter I want my aunt to still be able to use the quilt as long as she can, especially with having a baby on the way.
