What was your reaction when you first saw Donald Duck?

“When I first saw Donald Duck, I was in the middle of taking down one of Glomgold’s goons. 

kind of disappointing. But it meant he got to see my skills!

Plus.. thankfully on the submarine ride back home, I was right next to him the whole time! I introduced myself, told him all about my love of adventuring.  And about what a big fan I am!”

Throwing her head back in a laugh, she then playfully smacked his shoulder. "Heh. Yeah. I know. Gotta keep you guys on the edge of your seats!"

"Wait you've never been camping? I gotta go get my suplies we need to correct this.. stat... "

“Can we make s'mores? And go hiking?

I heard s'mores are really good.”

Webby was silent for a few seconds, before answering. "You know.. I think that if someone doesn't like you for you, then they're not worth your time. Girls can be mean. But.. that's mainly to other girls. In my experience. You shouldn't be nervous!" Webby nudged his shoulder gently. "And you don't have to be just like your brothers, you know. Everyone's good at different things. And academics, planning, being a woodchuck is a pretty big deal in my book. And I'm sure in the books of others! I'm sure everyone from your school is wishing they had your skills." Looking down at the road underneath her feet, she continued. "I know I do! And besides.. social stuff is overrated. I barley know anybody, and I'm doing just fine!"

"Wait you've never been camping? I gotta go get my suplies we need to correct this.. stat... "

I heard s'mores are really good.”

"Oh." She paused. "I get that. Kinda. Before I met you and your brothers, I didn't really know any other guys." Turning to him, she then paused again. "Well... I knew Mr. McDuck. And Launchpad. But that's it."

"Wait you've never been camping? I gotta go get my suplies we need to correct this.. stat... "

“Can we make s'mores? And go hiking?

I heard s'mores are really good.”

"Aw, thank you!" She ruffled her head at the compliment. Then looking at him curiously, she asked, "Are you alright, by the way? You've been acting weird."

"Wait you've never been camping? I gotta go get my suplies we need to correct this.. stat... "

"Home schooled! As of now. My granny teaches me!" Webby swung her arms up and down. "But.. I've been trying to talk to her about being schooled with you and your brothers. She seems to be getting less... protective." She paused. Protective was an understatement. "What's your school like?"

"Wait you've never been camping? I gotta go get my suplies we need to correct this.. stat... "

"That's fine. I've walked longer." Webby retorted. She giggled to herself at a past memory — sneaking out of the manor years ago, on a quest for adventure. Of course, she would never actually do that now, given her life was finally becoming just like her dreams, but back then things were different. She didn't get the luxury of exploring the world, or the woods in this case. She just stayed home, training, studying, and trying to befriend Scrooge McDuck. It was a repetitive circle that once seemed to have no end.

"What are the woodchucks like?" She asked, bluntly. "I'm assuming you're the standard role model for one."

"Wait you've never been camping? I gotta go get my suplies we need to correct this.. stat... "

“Can we make s'mores? And go hiking?

I heard s'mores are really good.”

"Aw, thanks, Huey!" She smiled sweetly while walking alongside him. Compliments from those other than her granny used to be rare, but she was getting more and more used to them. What would leave her sheepishly denying and avoiding all eye contact months ago, now was exchanged for a smile and thank you. It was strange how easily someone could get used to change when it was repeated so often.

"A few years, huh? That's actually pretty impressive."

"Wait you've never been camping? I gotta go get my suplies we need to correct this.. stat... "

“Can we make s'mores? And go hiking?

I heard s'mores are really good.”

“Do I know about a gold hunting dragon? Of course I know about a gold hunting dragon!”

“I helped put a stop to one, you know. With the assistance of Mr. McDuck, Huey, Dewey, Louie, and Launchpad!”

"Pssst. Of course I know the way to the woods. What do you take me for? An amateur?" She scoffed, as though there was no reasoning behind what Huey had said. "I am prepared and ready for camping! I will expect the unexpected. I'll take danger by its throat. How could I not know the way to somewhere as easily findable as the woods?"

She giggled nervously. Rubbing the back of her neck, Webby's eyes met the floor. "But.. how about you lead the way, oh, great junior woodchuck master? Just to give a fair sho—okay, fine I don't know where it is." Webby's excitement deflated for no more than six seconds. "I'll memorize the route eventually though."

"Wait you've never been camping? I gotta go get my suplies we need to correct this.. stat... "

"Perfect! I'm gonna have to thank her later." Webby replied, proudly. "Oh, and maybe we'll thank Donald Duck and Mr. McDuck too. Or we could always bring them back a souvenir! Might be easier." Webby leaned back and forth to showcase her anticipation.

The first time camping was supposed to be everything. It was going to be everything. And she couldn't wait.

"Now, onward!" She declared, before marching forward, and pulling Huey with her. "Lets do this!"

"Wait you've never been camping? I gotta go get my suplies we need to correct this.. stat... "
