Alex grunts in annoyance as he runs into a blue blur who walks past him to get a gown in the emergency room. "Be careful," he mutters. "Sorry" she replies simply, wrinkling her eyebrows. He walks toward the ambulance bay, and she follows him. "Why are you following me?" "I'm your intern for the day" she replies. "Hello intern, do you have a name?" he asks, slipping on his gloves. "Jo Wilson." He looks at her with a small smirk, the thing that interested him. "Cool. I like girls with boys' names."

...TO FRIENDS...

"Come with me," she whispers in his ear, taking his hand and dragging him into a guard room. She looks back down the hallway before closing the door. "What are we doing here?" he asks, an edge of curiosity in his voice. "Wait here," she says simply, giving him a sly smile, before going behind a shelf with supplies. When she re-emerges, she has a pink box in her hands. She opens it, effectively revealing the donuts. "Where did you get them?" "Nurses' room, they're all no sugar," she mutters, making a small grimace as she hands him a donut, making him smile. She then grabs one and bites into it, letting out a small groan. "What?" she asks, catching him staring at her. "They're with powdered sugar, do you like it." "Yeah, yeah..." he murmurs, before mimicking her and smiling at her weird faces.

...INTO LOVERS...

"You came... you're here," Jo smiles, watching him as he walks towards her outside the rehab center. "Yeah... look, what I'm about to do is kind of cheesy, but I'm gonna..." he says, before kneeling in front of her, taking her hands between his. "I don't want an out. Do you hear me? You offered me a way out, and you were right. I was scared. So, I thought about it, and what I know for sure now is that I'm a better man with you.I want you to be my wife." Jo smiles, and then looks down at the ground, sighing. "I've done the work here, but I'm not magically cured. I can't promise it won't happen again." "I don't care. I love you. I want to grow old with you, no matter what. For better or for worse. In sickness and in health." "Marry me again, please." "Yes." "Yes?" "Yes!"

...AND STRANGERS AGAIN 

"Jo?" she gasps when she hears her name said, by a voice she hasn't heard in a long time, yet still so familiar. She's sitting at the bar of the hotel she's in for a conference when she looks up from her drink, shifting it to the figure to her right. His hair is a little longer, grayer. He's changed, but it's still him. "Alex?" "Jo, hi," he says, is can very well hear the embarrassment and guilt in his voice. "Hi." "How are you?" he asks after a few seconds. "I'm good, fine." "Izzie and your kids?" She asks freely. "Jo, I..." "I know" she says, closing her eyes. All these years and the wound still hasn't fully healed. "But it's passed. I've moved on, I've gotten over it." "How are you?" he asks after a few awkward minutes of silence. "Alex-" "Mom!" suddenly a voice rings out from behind the two of them. Jo immediately turns around when she hears it. "Hey, Lulu," she smiles, reaching down to grab her. "Weren't you with your uncle?" She asks her, looking behind her for Link. "I wanted to see you" she says simply, before turning her attention back to the person she was talking to "Who are you?" Alex is caught off guard, by the question and the situation. "Hum, I-" "He's an old friend of mine, Alex" Jo replies instead, looking at him. "Hi Alex, I'm Luna," she says cheerfully, extending her hand to him. Jo giggles, shaking her head and looking away. "Hi Luna, it's nice to meet you" he smiles, squeezing her hand gently in response for a couple of seconds. He stares in bewilderment at the little girl, who he assumes to be about 6 years old, her blonde hair pulled back into a pair of messy braids and her blue eyes staring at him. "How do you two know each other?" "Okay Luna, I think it's time to go to Uncle Link's, okay?" says Jo, setting her down and taking her hand to grab the bag on the stool. "Hi Alex" greets Luna, showing off her toothless smile. "Hi Luna" he says, smiling at her, before turning his attention back to Jo. "Goodbye Alex" she says, looking at her ex-husband. "Goodbye Jo" and with that, he sees her disappear among the rest of the people, thinking about how much it actually hurt to say that. Last time it was a bye. Now a goodbye, and suddenly they were done. Their relationship, the letter. They were done. And they were nothing anymore, not lovers, not friends. Just two people at a conference, both with happy lives they don't have together, though.

Alex never loved the kind of girl who always dressed up. He never loved them being all fancy. All Alex ever wanted was a girl that didn’t care to get all dressed up. A girl who looked hot, didn’t need to look good at home. Didn’t need to try to look good. He always wanted a girl who didn’t try to look good, but was still looked hot.

Alex had her. Jo Wilson. He had her. The woman of his dreams. The woman he loved with all his heart. The love of his life. He never loved anyone like Josephine Wilson. The hot doctor. She was brilliant, smart, hot. How could Alex not love her. She was his everything.

But Alex threw it all away for Izzie stevens. Who he thought he loved. Who had his kids, and yet he can’t stop himself from thinking about Jo all the time. He can’t stop himself from missing her. He realized he had made a big mistake leaving. He made a mistake. Leaving the love of his life.

Alex was sitting on the couch as he watched the rain hit the floor through the living room window. He never felt more like he didn’t belong than now. He looked out the window as he thought back to when, he had first told Jo he loved him. Everything reminded him of Jo. Everything he saw. Even a certain smell would remind him of what he had left. He thought the feelings would fade but they never did. Alex came to the fact that they will never fade. The feelings he has for Jo won’t change. His love for Jo could never change and he has to live with that.

Jo Wilson. She watched as the rain hit the ground. Jo knows it rains a lot in Seattle she has lived there for about a decade. She knew it rained a lot, but yet every time it rained she thought of her first kiss with Alex. How she missed him so much. It hurt Jo to even think of Alex. She couldn’t stop herself from thinking about him. She knew she had to move on, but she didn’t think she would be able to.

She was lying in the loft looking around at the loft they put together. Alex’s first thought he of the loft. She missed Alex. She missed being called karev. Karev was the name she had the shortest of time, but yet misses the most. She had to change her name to Jo Wilson. She didn’t want to but she couldn’t keep that name. Alex’s name. Alex wasn’t hers anymore. Karev wasn’t hers. She had lost him. Karev wasn’t a part of him. He left so she couldn’t keep it.

Jo lied down under the blanket. As a few tears slid down her face as she thought of the man she loved. The man that loved her, but didn’t want her. She laid in her empty bed. Wishing Alex karev was here with her. Wishing Alex never left. She was left alone. With no one but herself. Yes she had friends but that isn’t the same. She falls asleep with tear stains going down her cheeks.
