I think for liebgott, a working-class jewish guy, at least some of the appeal of webster first comes from the idea of corrupting a harvard boy and putting him in his place. but what’s so wild is that the second he finds out web didn’t graduate and he was wrong about him, he’s instantly interested in learning more about him. he’s ok with the picture not being what he expected, he wants to know what he reads and what’s in his head. he’s down ridiculously bad. and that drives me CRAZY
