One thing that makes me sad about Dimitri is seeing people simplify him, in a way. Because I love the fact the Blue Lions route addresses he's not mentally well and that's affecting how he acts but also makes sure to note that he's made decisions that hurt many people and he himself learns to acknowledge that and works hard to improve and seek help. But I've seen people either woobifying him or otherwise completely ignoring his mental health and using some really ableist phrases to refer to him.

Tbh because the game takes so long, I’ve seen all of the lord characters get reduced to single character traits. On the BL route you really do learn almost next to nothing about Claude.

It’s interesting the “uwu Dimitri” attitude has become so rampant because it tells you outright in-game that this is not the case. Dimitri did do wrong and in many cases if you don’t save him he’ll continue to derail. 

A lot of the characters acknowledge how he screwed up and even say that, once he’s let go of his vengeance, he has the great makings of a king. They know full well of his misgivings and openly criticise him for it so I’m not sure where this “uwu Dimitri (and Edelgard) did nothing wrong” thing is stemming from. Did we all play the same game?

His survivor’s guilt is such a huge part of him and though I haven’t seen these types of people be ableist about it, it’s rather disappointing to hear.

You get this conversation after Dimitri is killed at Grondor during the Golden Deer route, of course only if Felix is recruited

This breaks my heart because it just proves that deep down Felix misses the good old days, the old Dimitri

And worst of all, had Byleth chosen the Blue Lions Felix could have saved Dimitri. On his own he wouldn't have had quite what it takes to steer him right so it doesn't matter if he's recruited or not but together with Byleth...

These two are the only ones who could safe Dimitri from himself - which they do in his route - but because neither of them stayed with him...he died trying to get his revenge crawling through the gore of a three way battle that could have been avoided

And, as Hilda says, he didn't deserve an end like that

Okay so i just checked a game review on a an account call game informer *not the other one* and i saw they showed supports with Ferdinand and he was able to s-support with f!blyeth but not with the other female students! IS i swear ill flip

Uh yeah Okay I wasn’t going to answer asks until everything blew over but here’s the situation:

Your students have political affiliations, family lines and pre-existing arrangements that are confined to the lore of the world built. 

It doesn’t mean no romantic interactions. These very much can happen at any support stage, especially A. And I believe there can be “dating” so to speak. S-rank means marriage. And in this world marriage is pure court politics. 

It means these students are not going to drop their family and their duty for just anyone.

IS had to decide letting anyone marry anyone, or staying within the boundaries of the story they created. If I’m going to be honest, I’m glad they picked the story.
