Funny Post 5
Lately theres a new wave on social media called "brainrot" where people post things that are so unfunny but in turn that makes them funny. Essentially the more unfunny and ridiculous the meme caption is the funnier it gets. Its hard to explain but for people my age the brainrot entertainment is only growing. This example right here is something me and my friends all could not stop laughing at.

Celebrating My Culture
I'm proud to grow up in a strong Indian community that supports each other here in America. Being a minority here in America creates similar experiences for many Indian people growing up here and I feel that growing up in this strong community allowed me to connect and find place here in America. So i think this sense of identity and community have shaped me in a positive way throughout my life. As for my passions, i grew up playing and watching sports so with social media I stay casually up to date with things happening in the sports world. It allows for relaxed and casual conversations with strangers that maybe i would not have anything in common with. I also have some new passions ever since coming to college like playing Chess and joining the Chess club. It's a really interesting game and I enjoy it because its a whole new world that I am motivated to learn and become proficient in.

Collecting Expressions Post 3
I looked through some sources relating to expressions of art from different culture groups and it was cool seeing a whole different perspective on pop culture in different communities. Some stuff I looked through is here.

These all had a unique feel to them and it was interesting getting a peek into a different culture and their own forms of expression and art. This next source is something I've seen at home with my parents watching and I thought it would be nice to add as me coming from it.

Post 2, What Binti Communicates To Me
Binti communicates to me personally a message of following what you believe in even if the road ahead hasnt been charted before and even if your own family and friends don't entirely support you. This resonates with me because I believe in living free and doing what you want to do regardless if anyone supports you. I know in Binti's case it was just that her parents were overprotective and not that they wanted to suppress Binti herself. I think the author is trying to convey a similar type of connection with readers. A passage I want to talk about is when the author goes in great depth about Bintis family life emphasizing scenarios common to fond memories of someones childhood. The passage is the last paragraph of page 7. Another passage I want to focus on is the first paragraph of page 9 where the author talks about the emotions Binti is going through right before embarking on her journey. I think a lot of people have felt similar when finally going out of their comfort zone like maybe going to college or a new environment. So i think the author is trying to also convey this emotion with the reader that a lot of people can resonate with.

Post 1, About Two Words I Find Interesting
So i was looking at the list given and two words that stand out to me is Palestine and colonialism. Some citations of the articles I found through the Seattle University website are
Sacco, Joe. Palestine. London: Jonathan Cape, 2003. Print.
A Christian Report on Israel. New York, NY: American Christian Palestine Committee, 1950. Print.
Omer, Mohammed. Shell-Shocked : On the Ground under Israel’s Gaza Assault. Chicago, Illinois: Haymarket Books, 2015. Print.
Shlaim, Avi. Israel and Palestine : Reappraisals, Revisions, Refutations. London ; Verso, 2009. Print.
I typed in some keywords regarding Palestine and Colonialism and these are some of the sources I found. With the increasing updates and discourse about whats going on in Palestine and how it relates to terms like colonialism I wanted to look through and see what more I can learn about it. What I found was information about how this is not just a current issue but an issue that has been going on for multiple decades. I learned about how Israel has been placing Palestinians in camps for decades, restricting access to food and more. Then about how there have been acts of terror that are condemned but can be a result of being policed to complete subjugation and that we should not be surprised there is resentment and pushback. Overall I saw a lot more interesting points that I have not seen before and it added to my understanding about the issue.
