hey, everyone. it’s with a heavy with a heavy heart that i must inform you all of weekly blaze’s closure. while it has been a blast working on this blog, all the mods are very busy and have moved on to other things.

the blog will be active until march 1, when posting will cease. the blog will remain as an archive. submissions will remain open, so if you’ve ever wanted to, now is the time! i’ll also leave requests open, so please request whatever you like (within the guidelines), however i cannot guarantee they will be fulfilled.

sorry about the long post spam

hopefully most of you are asleep and missed it! anyway, all our information pages have been converted to text posts. why? so now mobile links will actually WORK on mobile!!!!!!!

previously on mobile, links to the blog’s pages would simply reload our theme. now you don’t have to leave the app at all, as the links will take you directly to the respective posts. it should work universally on any app/browser/device 100% of the time! that said, if you have any issues don’t hesitate to let us know!

Why do you only post once per week?

You may remember that this was once a daily blog, but after some time posting every single day for a year, we found that it was very hard to keep up that pace. We want to bring you art we like at a consistent pace rather than posting irregularly, which is much easier when posting weekly. Please remember that this is free content provided by the mods in their spare time for fun.

Why hasn’t my request/submission been posted yet?

A combination of real life commitments and the fact that we only post once a week. If you genuinely fear the worst (maybe we forgot or your ask was eaten), feel free to politely send us a reminder.

Why are you reposting art?

None of the art is actually reposted! The mods of Weekly Blaze are a group of fans who submit their art directly to this blog, though you may see them post it on their other social media accounts. You can find them on the mod list! Any art not done by the mods has been willingly submitted by the original artists.

May I repost and/or use art as an icon/header/etc?

Do not repost any of the art from Weekly Blaze! As for icon/header usage, you’ll have to ask the mod who created the art.

Can we send rp asks?

Please do not! a simple scenario As a request is fine, but we are not an ask/rp blog and simply want to share fun art.

Will you draw nsfw art?

Absolutely not! Even if you were to ignore the fact that the cast is predominantly made up of minors, many of the mods are minors themselves and all of the mods here are uncomfortable with drawing such things, simple as that. Don’t be disgusting.

Will you accept commissions for more elaborate requests?

Not through this blog. Visit the mods’ personal blogs to find out if they take commissions!

Do you accept requests to draw OCs with Blaze?

Unfortunately not. We’re sticking with canon characters.

Why do you not accept certain franchises for crossover requests?

Since we’re sticking to canon characters, we’d rather only accept characters from video game franchises that have officially crossed over with Sonic the Hedgehog (Super Mario, Vocaloid, Puyo Puyo, etc.). We would also rather not be filtering out franchises that aren’t appropriate, or franchises we simply don’t enjoy drawing for. This isn’t to say you’ll never see crossovers that don’t fit this criteria, but it will be at the mods’ discretion rather than for requests.

Will you open a discord for fans of Weekly Blaze?

It’s unlikely. We would have to moderate the discord and filter out those who would make people uncomfortable. Running a weekly blog is a pretty big commitment as it is.

Will you tag “x” for me?

Absolutely! Feel free to shoot us an ask, no matter what it is you want tagged, we will tag it and let you know what to block. We want everyone to be comfortable on our blog.

Requests and Submissions:

Strictly no nsfw. this is non-negotiable.

Mild blood/violence is acceptable, gore is not.

No sexual content, including “sfw” fetishes like characters in tutus.

Incest/toxic/large age gap shippings are not okay. We will not draw art for any ship that has an age gap of three or more years. (Age gaps of two or less years are fine.)

No art that is racist, homophobic, transphobic, sexist, etc.

No original characters.

No crossovers with any properties that aren’t video game franchises that have officially crossed over with the sonic the hedgehog franchise. In regards to smash, playable characters only. References as opposed to full blown crossovers do not count. (Again, you may see works from the mods that do not fit this particular criteria but it is at their discretion only.)

We have the right to decline any request and/or submission.

Requests:

No confession type posts. All asks must be related to the blog in some way. We post art, not confessions, and will simply delete any asks we receive that are confessional in nature.

Please no overly elaborate requests. This includes things like comics, 4 or more characters, or otherwise complicated compositions. This isn’t to say that you’ll never see these things, but it should be the mods’ choice to do so as they are doing this for free in their own time.

No spamming requests. Please only send one, and a follow up if it has been a very long time.

Submissions:

Submit your own work only. If you are submitting a collaboration, the person(s) you collaborated with must message us directly with permission to post it.

Please no half-done works! This doesn’t mean that your art needs to be completely finished – sketches or uncolored works are fine! But if you’ve started lining, you have to finish that and not leave it half done. Likewise, if you’ve started coloring, you can’t leave it half uncolored.

Welcome to Weekly Blaze the Cat! As the name would imply, here we post one drawing of Blaze per week so you always have a steady stream of content!

We are very happy to receive both requests and submissions, but please read our rules first! Due to the nature of the blog, your request or submission may take a while to be posted so please be patient! Please remember that this is something we do in our spare time for fun, so there will be occasional times of inactivity.
