if your hot witch summer has been too cold and rainy, use this spell to summon the sun. 

This spell is an invocation spell, meaning it is only to be used for the purpose of summoning to aid only a magic user or their consenting targets with a specific purpose. Examples of such purposes may be to get a tan, to aid one’s gardening, to ensure nice weather for outdoor activities, to attract a friendly visit from certain natural beings, etc. Do not use the sun’s magic with malicious intent, under any circumstances, or may it evade you forever ❤️ TERFS/SWERFS DO NOT HAVE PERMISSION TO REBLOG OR USE MY SPELLS WHATSOEVER. 

you will need :

rain water from the most recent rainfall

art supplies 

any kind you like, can be as simple as a post-it note and a hotel pen or as advanced as a full oil painting easel setup. it doesn’t matter.

some outdoor space that gets loads of sun. 

garden, patio, parking lot, porch, windowsill, balcony, terrace, etc. all work. as long as the sun likes it.a south facing window would work too but i don’t have written instructions on containing rainwater. protect your wood and stuff from water when you do this. i know that you would’ve remembered to if i hadn’t reminded you, because you’re pretty smart, but i just wanted to remind you all anyways.

a rock. 

can be any size, mine is pretty large because it’s a decorative stone for my garden. 

a relaxing activity.

i chose bong rips and tarot reading. you can choose dumpster fires and mosh pits. you can choose tea and cartoons. you can choose hiking and taking pictures for instagram. you can choose sex and cleaning. you can choose sports and online poker. i don’t care. the sun doesn’t care. choose to do whatever makes you happy and relaxed.

a way to shower or clean yourself with water.

if you don’t have a shower/bathtub :: any public water parks, or sprinklers and hoses, a lake or the ocean … all work fine. for road trippers, truck stops often have showers you can pay like five dollars usually to use. the warm, half-empty water bottles that accumulate in the car could rinse you off. whatever, just a way to get water on your body to get cleaned off a bit.

how to cast the spell :

first you need to set up your workspace. if you cast circles, you may need to do that too. i don’t cast circles, so i don’t include that in any of my instructions. collect your materials, go to your outdoor area on an overcast day. do not cast this spell while it is raining. it is fine if it rains between you casting the spell and the spell manifesting. if it starts raining half way through casting the spell, you’ll need to re-collect water and re-cast the spell later. 

pour your rainwater on your rock. completely cover it on all sides and edges and curves. you’ll know it’s completely covered because rocks usually change colour when wet. if you’re using a crystal make sure it’s real as well as that it’s safe to soak in water and leave in the sun. 

leave your rock in your outdoor area. wave them goodbye and thank them for their energy. 

use your art supplies to draw the type of weather you’d like. i would love to see what kind of drawings you guys do as well. if you’d like to see mine, you can message me. i would recommend using these symbols :

a circle for a sun in the middle. it should be small to medium sized. if you’d like for it to be especially hot, draw rays coming from it. 

if you’d like to summon a rainbow, draw it as a circle around the sun, if you have drawn rays it should intersect with them.

if you’d like to summon a specific shade of blue for the sky, you can choose to colour the sky around the sun. 

if you’d like there to be many clouds, draw clouds in the sky around the sun. only draw clouds over or touching the sun if you’d like to summon more overcast weather.

if you’d like the wildlife to be more active, you may draw birds or other critters in the sky as well. do not draw anything living over the sun or its rays.

go do your relaxing activity. chill out in a healthy way. use your brain while also giving it a well deserved break. think about your life and what you want and what you receive in it. clean yourself off briefly with water. if you’re in the shower/bath at this point, it’s okay to close the ritual off and have a proper shower with soap.

Weather Magic

The term “weather magic” or “weather witching” has been used to mean anything from divination and forecasting of weather to actual control and manipulation of the weather itself. From calling up treacherous storms to destroy another’s crops or providing fair winds for those at sea, witches (and even those who do not consider themselves to be such) have always been involved with weather magic. When you consider that most forms of magic are based around an agricultural past, the ability to affect and predict the weather was considered an invaluable skill. After all, if your family’s livelihood depended on the success of your crops (or the ability to find water as it did in my family’s case), weather magic would be an extremely handy thing to know.

Why the url Storm Born Witch?

I am quite fortunate, as the gift for weather related magic comes easily to my family. For generations, the men in my family have been dowsers or water diviners. However, it wasn’t until after I displayed an aptitude to weather related magic that I was told about my family’s history with it.

My grandfather was the last water diviner in the family and he died when I was very young so I was never taught how to divine for water. My grandmother was the one to teach me what little she knew about weather magic - the rest either occurred naturally or I picked up along the way.

Whistling Up A Wind

This is the most common form of weather magic and has been practiced for hundreds of years. Depending on the pitch and tone of the whistle a witch can create a gentle breeze or a sharp gust of wind. Traditionally, if the skill of whistling up a wind does not come naturally to you the option of making a ‘wind whistle�� out of willow or alder wood is available.

Here in Australia, whistling up a wind is probably the most common form of magic I do. I honestly do not go a day without whistling up a cool breeze. It’s bloody hot here and sometimes a cool breeze is just what you need.

Storm Casting

Storm casting is the art of creating storms. There are many different methods to creating storms and bringing rain. The method used by my family is to fill a jug with water and while sitting outside (or facing a window) pour the water into a basin or bowl (I just use a wash basin I inherited from my mother - see below). Dip the tip of your pointer finger into the water and slowly make five clockwise circles in the water (if you have a pendant necklace this can be used instead - just above the water in the bowl).

As you are making the circles call the wind to bring in a storm by blowing (or whistling a continuous low note - the sound of wind over the mouth of a glass bottle) over the water in the basin.

Storm Catching

Storm catching or “reeling in a storm” is even more difficult than storm casting so it’s always wise to think before you cast. Too much energy put into a storm and it will go on for weeks (and cause some flooding - basement incident) or it will be extremely violent and knock down power lines and tree branches. Too little energy and all you will get is a 5 minute shower of rain.

The most common way to catch a storm is by binding it in string/rope or in a bottle. The storm can then be released from the bottle or string at a more opportune time by pulling out the cork or undoing the braid/knots.

How to Enchant Items

To enchant an item is to infuse it with magickal energy. This energy can come from a variety of sources, including planets, crystals, herbs, or even yourself. 

Some individuals use the words “enchant” and “charm” synonymously as a way to describe the process of infusing something with energy, but for the sake of this post and due to my own beliefs, you enchant something and it then becomes a charm. Alternately, a charm can be something with its own innate energy, like a crystal or herbal amulet. 

The process of enchanting is extremely versatile and there are many ways to do it successfully, so long as you keep your intent clear in your mind. My personal preference when it comes to enchanting items is to allow 12-24 hours (overnight or a full day) for the item to be infused with energy and become a charm - although, this is completely left up to the individual spell-caster. 

Here are a few ideas on how to enchant items, in no particular order:

Surround the item with crystals of corresponding intent

Surround the item with herbs of corresponding intent 

Place the item in a jar filled with herbs that represent your intent

Place the item in front of a candle and meditate on your intent 

Anoint the item with an oil, charged water, or crystal elixir of corresponding intent 

Hold the item in your hand(s) and visualize it filling with the appropriate energy 

Hold the item in your hand(s) and speak your intent aloud

Craft a sigil or symbol to keep near the item in an envelope or sachet

Write your intention on paper and keep in an envelope with the item 

Pair the item with a corresponding runestone or tarot / oracle card in an envelope 

Take the item and put it in a box with other items that represent your intent such as crystals, herbs, talismans, amulets, etc. 

Bury the item in soil with herbs and/or crystals that match your intent (please don’t put salt on your lawn though, unless you want dead grass)

Pass the item through incense smoke that matches your intent

Fruit Correspondences from my google drive grimoire, before they get organized into my physical grimoire. As someone from Puerto Rico currently living in Florida, many/most of the fruits here can be found in the Caribbean and Florida, and have the cultural correspondences that I personally feel them to have from my own upbringing. 

SOME OF THEM ARE POISONOUS and need to be prepared a very SPECIFIC WAY or at a SPECIFIC POINT in their ripeness. Also, some of the names are in Spanish first, because that’s the quickest way for me to personally find them on the list.

glamour/beauty magick for beginners

for all the beginner witches out there who love fashion, makeup and beauty, here’s a small guid to easy glam magick! you can add some of these thngs to your daily routine.

first, begin your day like usual. put on an ourfit that makes you feel confident. and with every action you do, say some affirmations to yourself. e.g.“i am confident. i am enchanting. i am beautiful. i attract love” or any affirmation you’d like. you may even light a red candle while doing this to enhance your affirmations. if you dont have a red candle, you can always use white to replace it.

once you’re done your outfits and affirmations, its time to begin your skin care routine. do your skincare routine like normal, but when you’re done use some rose water to moisturize your face. get a cotton pad and put some rose water on it, wipe it all around your face for a refreshing moisturizer and a beauty/love spell. roses hold a great power with beauty and love magick.

when you’re done your skincare, its time for your makeup. when doing makeup, use makeup that is infused with crystals or essential oils. also use colours that correlate with your intention. (read more about colour magick if you dont know which colours correlate) keep your intention at the back of your mind while doing this and keep saying your affirmations while doing this. it can enhance the result of your spell, intention is very important.

wear crystal jewlery like rose qurtz, or any crystal thats pink and/or red. clear quarts is very versitile so if you dont have any crystals of those colours, you can use clear quartz as well. or wear it with the other jelwery to give it a little extra oomph. you can also wear little jars of herbs like rose pettles or jazmine.

use your own home made perfume. you can make it with essential oils. for a beauty or love spell, i suggest jazmin, rose, lavender, geranium, peppermint and myrhh. if you want to give the perfume a little extra apmlification, you can use moon water, rose water, or both as the base instead of water straight from the tap.

if you want, you can paint your nails with nail polish infused with crystals and also use colour magick with your nail polish.
