Pairing: Leo x GN!Reader
Slight Hurt/Comfort, but mostly some emotional fluff!
Summary: After an especially trying mission, you try to comfort Leo in an unexpected way: singing.
Warnings: Self-deprecating comments
Word Count: 2.9k
A/N: Hi again! Thank you all so much for all the love on my first fic! I truly didn’t think it would receive any traction, but you guys blew me away! I’ve actually been working on this fic for quite some time now. I just couldn’t seem to get the emotions the way I want them. I’m pretty sure I’ve rewritten different parts of it at least a dozen times now, but I think it’s time to just let it go. This is a topic that’s quite special and personal to me, and I can only hope it resonates with someone else.

Heyo! I would like to request a Rise!Leo fic with gender neutral reader. In it, the reader gets severely injured. (Raph could be the one who injures them accidentally) And when Leo finds out, he goes into medic mode and tries to help them recover from their injury.
What follows are a lot of cuddles, a lot of kisses, and a whole lot of fluff.
And that’s my request! I hope you can do it.
I tried this one through Leo's perspective months back. It wouldn't work, so I gave up on it. But I finally figured it out! Hope this is enjoyable!
Rated T, fluff, Rise Leo, post Krang Warning: Dislocation
You know something's gone wrong the second you hear Mikey shout. You realize what it is when a burning chain wraps around your arm and pulls you back while a shuriken nearly scrapes your nose. However, you also know that it's about to get much, much worse as pain claims your shoulder and throat, your scream echoing through the sewers before everything falls deathly silent.
Holding your shoulder as the chain lets go of your arm, you fall to your knees. You try to contain the rising panic, the pain, and not notice that your shoulder is sitting at a weird angle before you're made to sit, and you hear someone calmly talk to you. However, your vision and hearing feed you nothing as every nerve screams that something's wrong.
Your shoulder pops. More pain that your throat exclaims, and that you smother with a lip bite. Only the sudden smell of ozone reassures you before you hear your name, are lifted off the ground, and taken through neon blue as your head rests on a shoulder.
Safe, safe. The pain is keeping you awake, but you doubt it'll last, certainly in those arms.
You welcome the white, sterile environment you're taken to. You breathe as you're set down, barely caring for the fact that your jacket is being opened when it leads to three solid, callused fingers wrapping themselves around your shoulder to finish the pop back into place. Pain tries to stake a claim on you, but you find it slowly ebbing away as something replaces those fingers and rolls along your skin.
Lidocaine. It's the last thought your brain fires before you feel lips against your head, hear a whisper, and the world fades to black.
-xxx-
You don't know how long it's been when you wake up, but from the way your arm is bandaged and in a splint, you know it's a while. You also know from the sound that follows you shifting around that someone is with you, and you know who it is before you even look.
"You're lucky you chose leather."
And it helps you snort when the confirmation comes with a comment you're happy to debunk.
"I chose leather because of this, actually. Metal would have been dangerous."
Although you're definitely not surprised when silence is your answer, at least until you hear shuffling and you find him near the cot.
He's not looking at you. His lime-green gaze fixates on your shoulder and it takes you calling for him for him to look away. Even then, he finds the floor before he looks at you, if he even does. It's not until you call him by his preferred nickname that you get his upset, saddened stare.
He doesn't like what you're doing. You've known that since the first time he tested you. But he won't stop you. You know that, too. That's why you're both here, looking at each other as he hopes you've finally gotten the message, while this… is well within your expectations.
"It should take a few weeks to recover."
"Okay."
"Ice it every night before going to bed. It'll keep the swelling down."
"Okay… Leo?"
"And if anything happens, call me immediately. I don't care where you are or who you're with. Ca –"
"Leon." Lime-green loses its steel while you gain yours. "Say it."
"Not worth it."
"Please."
"You're just gonna –"
"You're scared. Be scared."
The only thing that undoes the rigidity is the speed at which he takes you in his arms. The desperation of the kiss that follows. The fact that he refuses to let go even when he hears you hiss in pain, only slackening his hold on you before he cradles you and takes you away from the med bay and to his room, where he lies you in his bed before doing the same, his arm loosely slung over you.
You're not going anywhere. The second you move that arm will tighten, and he'll whine. Instead, you shuffle closer and smile as it does tighten on its own, and he whispers your name. You smile and turn your head as he does, chuckling as he covers your face with kisses. And while he never tells you to stop, that you're just going to get more injuries, and that he's worried you might get on he can't take of one day, you can feel it and you reassure him the best you can.
You're here now. You're in his arms right now. And that's the important part.
"Te quiero, mi amor."
Just like the fact that he loves you.

Staples, comics and Banana bread
rottmnt x Leo reader

Tags: Mention of injury, slight blood, angst, unconfessed feelings, fluff, angst with a happy ending

The Kraangified remnants of the foot clan were left scattered across the pavement.
battered and beaten. Ripe for the EPF to escort them to who knows where.
Thanks to Raph, the very last infected Foot-brute was sent into a nearby alley wall, impacting a crater into the cement upon impact.
Raph turned back to Leo- who stood with his shell facing him.
“You okay Leo? That kraang goon nearly clipped you-!”
Leo still faced away from him, trembling, moving his hand to his side as Raph spoke.
“…ye-yeah Raph..I’m right…r-right as….rain..”
Leo tried echoing his words as if it would distract his brothers from the wound he covered with his hand. But the moment his legs began shaking unsteadily, Mikey ran in to support his older brother.
Donnie, April and Raph hurried over at the same time.
“It did get you, Leo! Hold on-! Mikey, lay him down for a moment, Donnie, put pressure on his side, now-!”
April dug through a compartment in Donnie’s battle shell, handing him a medkit and watched as Donnie swiftly opened it.
Leo winced as he was gently laid down, groaning when his plastron scraped in on itself. His side was lightly cracked, and blood ran down steadily.
It was clear the foot tried impaling him with a tendril, but missed by a couple inches.
Donnie already had a sterile gauze he put over the gash to keep Leo from bleeding any more. As soon as he applied pressure, Leo flinched and cried out in pain.
His eyes pricked at the edges and he longed to claw everyone’s hands off of him.
April kneeled next to Leo’s head, and she softly cradled Leo’s face, wiping away his tears.
Leo appreciated what his brothers and sister were doing for him.
But he felt shame for letting this happen, he felt shame for obligating them to help him.
He sluggishly squirmed and dug his heels in the ground. He whined and stifled cries when they carried him, and he yelled and kicked when they stapled him back together. he sniffled when he felt the soft bed underneath him and his father’s old hands holding his.
And he sobbed when he was all alone, because he felt like a failure. Coming home in pieces while his brothers were left unscathed.
He didn’t want to need help.
He wanted to be as good as his brothers.
Walking down the familiar sewer tunnels, you scrolled through your phone, listening to music. You didn’t have to look up to know where you were going-
You just took a left and kept going.
Over the ramp,
Through this tunnel,
Past those two rats with the weird hair,
Over this little bridge,
Take a right,
And you looked up to see the familiar subway-sewer lair, filled with those unforgettable neon lights and smells of something Mikey cooked up.
Wandering around as if in your own home, you looked for any signs of the turtles.
It was awfully quiet, however. Only splinters faint soapy treadmill and snores echoed from another room.
So you tried asking.
“Hellooo? Anyone hooome~?”
You heard a faint “huh?” From the kitchen. Walking into it, you saw Leo with a questioning expression.
When you rounded the corner and he saw your face, he let his shoulders relax.
“Oh, it’s you. I thought piebald was setting up to scaring me again.”
You chuckled as his comment and leaned against the counter, smiling.
He smiled back for a moment before glancing down. And back up again.
He looked worried.
You couldn’t see what he looked at, being on the other side of the countertop, but you walked closer to him.
“What’s wrong?”
He chuckled- “nOthing-!“
He blurted out before leaning close to the table, mirroring you. He made an effort to stand farther away from you.
Leo was a good liar around anyone and everyone but you.
You could see his faux grin wobble.
Quickly walking right next to him, you inspected the floor.
“What-? What’s wrong?”
Looking tile to tile, there was nothing out of the ordinary. Just a couple crumbs and a dry spaghetti noodle.
Then out of the corner of your eye, you saw Leo’s hand flinch- he was covering his side.
Looking back at his face, you gave him an unimpressed look before grabbing his wrist and moving his hand out of the way.
..oh.
Your face fell and all was left was a shocked, hurt complexion that hung around your eyes.
The side of his plastron was cracked and multiple staples held them altogether. The cracks were red in between, it looked so painful.
Why was he even standing? It looked like it hurt to stand.
“It’s fine, really. It’s like, it’s a week old. Its not as bad as it looks.”
He flashed a small smile, but it didn’t change your empathetic face.
“I’m sorry that happened to you. It looks pretty nasty.”
He shrugged.
“Well, accidents happen, right? Do you expect villains to not hurt me?”
You frowned.
“You weren’t…putting yourself in danger, right?”
“What?”
“You’re not using yourself as a human shield again, now are you?”
His eyes bulged a little and he swallowed.
“….n…noo…”
You raised an eyebrow.
“I-well, I’m not technically a huma-“
You grabbed his shoulders and he decided not to finish that sentence.
“…I’m sorry. I-I was…just…”
You sighed and pulled him in a hug, being mindful of his injury.
He blinked a couple times, staring at the back of your head before wrapping his arms around you. He exhaled as he buried his face in your hair.
“…I’m sorry. I keep doing that.”
You nodded. Still holding the hug.
“I’m afraid for you, Leo. You keep getting hurt like this.”
You gently scritched his shell, and he melted a bit in your arms.
“…I..would rather be hurt myself….than watch my brothers be hurt..”
You sighed.
Hug was still going.
Awfully long.
But it was nice.
“There’s… a line, Leo. Between protecting your brothers and..nearly getting kebabed every mission.”
He chuckled at your word usage, and he gently rubbed your back.
“…yeah…”
After almost 3 minutes of hugging, you both let go. (Unwillingly.)
“Crap! My banana bread!”
Leo scrambled to the oven, opening the oven door and fumbling to put his blue mitts on. Pulling the loaf out of the oven, he set it on the stovetop.
He waved at it, trying to cool it down.
“Does it look burnt..?”
You went over to where he was and poked at it with a fork. Shrugging, you replied-
“No…? You should cut it and see.”
He pulled a drawer open and got a knife. Holding it steady, he cut out two small slices and gave you one.
The banana bread was pretty good. The chocolate chips had melted nicely, and thankfully Leo didn’t add any raisins or walnuts.
“This is pretty-“
You choked on your food and coughed for a moment.
“SINCE WHEN did you start BAKING-?!”
Leo stared at you for a moment before chuckling a little. A bit of blush hung around his cheeks.
“When your brothers start making you stay home from missions, you gotta find ways to pass the time.”
You laughed.
“Man, you must be bored if you’re baking bread now!”
He feigned a pout and the warmth on his face grew.
You covered the bread with a cloth to let it cool down before looking back to Leo.
“I got something to fix that.”
Pulling off you medium-sized backpack, you set it on the floor and unzipped it. You pulled out the latest JJ comic volume. It was hardcover and had alternative cover art that was hard to find.
“Look what I found at my local Noblebarn~”
He gasped, his eyes growing all sparkly.
“NO WAY! I thought it was being released next month!”
You replied with a coy grin.
“It is. But if you have a friend who works there, you can get some things early…”
You placed the book in his hands, and he stared at it cluelessly for a moment.
…
“It’s for you.”
His eyes grew wide like dinner plates and he looked at you with a unbelieving expression.
“…really-?! for me??”
You couldn’t help but chuckle.
“Yeah, for you.”
He giggled girlishly and set the book aside to hug you again. He nearly crushed you.
But that was a good sign that you made him very, very happy.
“Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou!!!”
He laughed, then picking up the book again reverently. As if it was fine china.
“Let’s go read it! C’mon!”
The both of you ran to the couch like you were little 3rd graders again, jumping onto the sofa and sitting impossibly close, eyes glued to the comic.
Before Leo would flip the page, he would look to you and ask “next page?”
“Yeah” you’d reply, before studying the comic again.
Oh, the things that kept you two occupied.

Chirping Leo my beloved :0
(From: Random ROTTMNT oneshots, requested story)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Leo's insomnia was acting up again, and as the amazing partner you were, you decided to come over and cuddle with him to try and get him to sleep. You both kind of expected that it wouldn't work, but hey. Neither of you were going to turn down an opportunity to cuddle.
As of right now, you were being the little spoon and playing random games on your phone.
Whenever you and Leo cuddled, it always seemed to be the rule that whoever was being the little spoon would play games on their phone while the other watched. Neither of you really knew when it started, but at this point it's an absolute rule.
Leo usually preferred to be the big spoon. It's actually because he worries a lot of the time that his shell will make you uncomfortable if you're being the big spoon. You have tried several times to tell him that you don't mind his shell, but he keeps insisting to be the big spoon. You honestly don't really mind which one you are. As long as you're hugging Leo in some way and he's happy it's all good.
Leo snuggles into Y/n's shoulder and mumbles to them, "Are you gonna be done sooon?" Y/n turns their head without looking away from their screen and kisses Leo on his cheek. "Soon mkay?" Leo mumbles something unintelligible.
Y/n continues to play on their phone for a bit longer and is about to finish the level and get off when a green hand takes the phone out of their hands. "A- Leo-"
Leo chirps.
Y/n turns over faster than you can even imagine to look at Leo. Leo grumbles slightly for his arms being moved out of his grip on them. "Did- Did you just chirp??" Leo responds with another chirp. This one sounded a bit...annoyed? "Are you...mad at me?" Leo pouts and huffs. "I'll take that as a yes. What'd I do?"
Leo lets out a long chirp and flops his arms on Y/n again. "Ah, I see. Sorry Leo." Leo huffs in triumph and snuggles into Y/n's chest. Y/n rubs his shell and tries their best to not LITERALLY MELT AFTER HE STARTS CHURRING.
Holy shit man.
Y/n can feel Leo's body gently vibrate as he churrs and snuggles into their chest more. "Leo?" Leo looks up at Y/n, and his churring stops for a bit as Y/n stops rubbing his shell. Leo lets out a slightly frustrated click as they stop. "Oh, stop it, silly. I just wanted to ask why you're chirping all of a sudden."
Leo looks away from Y/n's face and tries to hide his face in their chest again. Y/n promptly pushes Leo away from them so he cant. Leo chirps a distressed chirp and tries to move closer to them. "Ah ah. Answer my question first." Leo glares at them.
Leo tries to talk, but when he tries, he just chirps again. Leo blushes and hides his face in his hands. Y/n instantly gets worried about him. "Whats wrong?" Leo signs with TSL (turtle sign language), "Embarrassed." "Aww Leo...it's fine! I was just confused as to why the hell you started chirping."
Leo tries to speak again, but he just lets out a breathy squeak. Leo frowns and puts his head on the pillow, avoiding Y/n's gaze. "Could you sign it to me?" Leo thinks for a bit before starting to sign. "Get anxious or really happy or comfortable, start chirping.".
It was pretty choppy, and it took Leo a while to sign it all, but at least Y/n understood it. "Aww...so you're comfortable with me?" Leo once again turns as read as a tomato and turns away from Y/n. "Hey! Come back to me, Leoooo..." Leo looks over his shoulder at Y/n and clicks. Y/n didn't need to know what he clicked to know what he meant.
Suffer.
Y/n squints their eyes at Leo, and they both stare at each other for a bit before Y/n practically lunges at Leo and starts tickling him. Leo squeaks a whole bunch of times as he struggles to get Y/n off of him. Y/n tries to continue to tickle Leo as his "punishment," but they have to stop eventually because of how bad they were starting to feel.
Once they stop, though, they realize Leo didn't actually mind because he gives them a questioning look and chirp. Y/n shrugs and wraps their arms around Leo. Leo almost instantly starts churring and tries to snuggle into them as far as possible.
Y/n kisses the top of Leo's head. "Sleep tight, chirpy Leo."
(Bonus!)
Donnie walks into the kitchen where everyone is eating their breakfast with a giant smirk on his face. "Whats up, Donnie?" Raph questions with his mouth full of cereal. "All of my dear brethren, and Y/n, I have something that I got on the security cameras that I think everyone would love to see."
Leo raises a nonexistent eyebrow. "Whats this thing we would all love to see?" Donnie's smirk somehow grows wider, and he looks directly at Leo. "Chirpy Leo."
While the others look confused at what Donnie just said, Leo and Y/n look like they're about to kill Donnie. "Donnie," Y/n starts to say, "You know what would be really nice? If you GAVE US THAT FUCKING SECURITY FOOTAGE." Donnie's metal arms come out of his battle shell, and he gets into a defensive position. "Try me."
The rest of the morning is spent trying to get the security footage from Donnie. It ultimately fails, and Donnie shows the whole family it. Leo simply passes away from embarrassment, and Y/n lies on the floor next to him, casually wanting to pass away as well.
hello, that one anon. You probably know who I am lol
I really enjoyed your churr one-shot! I wrote something for fun with a bunch of churring too for you. =D (btw this is my first time freeform writing, like ever? Sorry I’m horrible at it lol)
Just minor angst and fluff. No swearing, completely PG —————————————————————————————————— You laid on the couch, gently bouncing your leg against the armrest whilst reading on your phone. Gentle music was playing, rain pittered against the window, and thunder occasionally rumbled in the distance.
It was your favorite type of atmosphere, the perfect kind to wind down and relax.
Another far-off growl of thunder rolled in the distance.
Rain began to tap against the window a little harder. You shifted in your blanket, trying to properly trap your warmth from the cold.
Another, closer clap of thunder echoed across the sky.
Rain began to pour even harder.
Until you Heard- a distinct, though sluggish tap tap against the window. Startled, you fell out of the couch, scrambling to the window.
A familiar face pressed against the glass- green, tired, and soaked to the bone. You quickly fumbled against the window lock, sliding the cover up to let Leo inside.
He looked miserable. Leo trembled as he stepped over, trailing water onto the floor. before you could fit a word in, he dropped his katanas and collapsed, reduced to a shivering shell on the floor.
“LEO! Leo, are you- what happened-?!”
Leo barely shook his head, signifying that he couldn’t or didn’t want to answer.
Your heart tightened at the sight of Leo, wet, cold, hurt.
Scared.
“C’mon, Leo, let’s get you to the couch, ok…? Easy- here, hold on my arm-“
To the best of your ability, you heaved him up, supporting around his shell and shoulders. He let out a small hurt turtle-whine, which squeezed your heart even further.
It was only a couple short steps to the couch, were you gently sat him down.
His arms fell down by his sides on the cushions, and his head lolled against the back cushion. His lethargic, trembly form pitted your stomach, and the scratches and scrapes that littered his body didn’t help your anxiousness either.
“S-stay here, ok lee? I’ll be right back-!”
He replied with a tiny broken chirrup, and it only served to make you dash to the bathroom even faster.
You ran back with your arms filled with a damp rag, warm and dry towel, and a small first aid kit.
You started with gently dabbing all the rain off of Leo with the towel, avoiding too much pressure to his wounds. You paused to gently untie his mask and unravel his wraps before drying those areas too.
He seemed too tired to protest, busy on calming himself down. He would chirp quietly, scared and anxious.
He still quivered as you finished drying him off, But the sight of you helped tie him to reality. It only took a couple minutes to then dab his dirty scratches and cuts with the rag and apply ointment, before covering each one with a bandaid or gauze.
You even wiped his muddy feet clean- you had no problem taking care of him. He was too tired to care, but he was soaked in the feeling of imposing.
his icy cold skin alarmed you- so Once he was all nice and dry and clean, you threw a heated blanket over him, making sure to tuck in his legs and anything else exposed. Leo shuddered as he adjusted to the warmth. He chirped once more, settling into the couch.
You threw his mask, strap and wraps in the dryer and got rid of whatever else you used for his care. Once you set hot water to boil for cocoa, you came back to check on the slider.
Still nonverbal. Chirpy. It tugged hard enough at your heartstrings for it to physically hurt.
“…Leo, is everything alright? Need anything else..?”
You would ask what happened some other time. Now wasn’t appropriate.
He looked aside, softly chirping. He looked back to you, trying to speak. But all that came out were more frustrated chirps and peeps that occurred only naturally in his state.
You walked closer, sitting on the couch right beside him. Resting a warm hand on his shoulder, you gently rubbed it with care.
“…it’s ok. Do you want me to stay here? Is that ok…?”
His eyes widened as he nodded quickly, before darting forward and latching on in a hug. It caught you by surprise, but you didn’t hesitate to hug him back and begin rubbing his shell. Slowly laying down along with him, you pulled the blanket over the both of you. Leo snuggled even closer into your collarbone, as close as possible. You melted when you felt him churr, loud and warm and pleasant.
Happy and safe.
It seemed, as a warm blooded mammal, you were a perfect heat/snuggle source.
His small trembles and shivers slowly became the small vibration of his churrs, and he grew a little warmer as minutes passed.
You could feel his breaths right against your neck, slow and calm now. At the moment, he was like a giant dog, starving for close contact and love. You wondered how he could breathe when pressed so close.
pulling out your hand, you ever-so-gently traced over his red stripes and rubbed his head to ease out his growing Raph-chasm. His churrs softly lulled him to a heavy sleep, with you following right after.
You laid on the couch, sandwiched under Leo and the giant heated blanket. rain pittered against the window, and thunder occasionally rumbled in the distance.
It was your favorite type of atmosphere, the perfect kind to wind down and relax.
Am I annoying?
Rottmnt Leo x reader
Today, boys. Today is the day the last of few slivers of dignity I have left are ripped away from me. But hey, we all gotta post a character X reader at some point in our lives, right…? Right?
this is my first post. My first attempt at actually writing. So here goes.
warnings: none. I absolutely hate anything nsfw and will not ever post it. Just some angst, fluff. Unconfessed feelings.
…gosh.
When was the last time you slept?
Not last night. The night before was fitful and blurry and you weren’t sure you got any sleep then either.
It was noon now. And being awake for 32 straight now hit like a pile of bricks.
Dull pain echoed around your head and your limbs were sore. Occasional shivers and tremors ran through your body, and your hand would spasm and drop whatever it was you were holding.
Right now, you slowly climbed down the sewer ladder- on your way to your hangout you were invited to by the turtles today.
Despite having to share your conscience with insomnia, you felt so tired. But you could never fall asleep…
Head going slack for a moment, you momentarily closed your eyes…just a second, just one second………just-
Your sneaker slipped on one of the mossy ladder bars, and you nearly lost your grip.
Crap, I need sleep, you mumbled to yourself as you gripped onto the ladder, watching each slow and cautious step as you descended. If you had dozed off for a second longer, you would’ve fell down 15 feet.
You imagined the turtles grimacing at the sight of you splattered across the cement, having to scrape you off like a burnt pancake.
Gross. And humiliating, especially if Leo was there.
Your thoughts wandered as you lowered to the sewer ground, step by step.
Step by step. Step by-
Oh. Right. You’re on the ground now.
You walked the familiar route, crossing over a small bridge over flowing water and into a circular entrance.
You tried ignoring the million little thoughts prodding at your head, teasing you, patronizing you-
The homework due tomorrow, the essay that needed to be turned in on Friday- and it was Thursday, and you hadn’t even touched it!! Gosh, and that horrible grade you got today on the quiz, it would probably affect your grade report…
The familiar sounds of the lair grew louder as you drew nearer.
The volunteer work you promised to pitch in for, that you completely forgot about..dang it, I’m such a jerk! And you can’t just do it tomorrow, they would be done by now without you. Because you had school again.
That annoying cramp in your back, it wouldn’t go away, and it was growing stronger than your migraine… that gross splash of the sticky sewer puddle you stepped in that now clung to your brand new pants.
It was all itching at your bones, pulling at your nerves—
You finally walked into the lair/subway tunnel like you had a million times before. The familiar lights, posters, comic books and Lou jitsu memorabilia scattered all over the place. But it just made it worse. Everything felt so overstimulating. So, so- so much you can’t even think straight! How long have I slept? How? W Wh-
Leo, seeing you finally arrived, perked up from his spot on the beanbag and ran over to greet you. Never mind that you looked like you were run over by a subway train, he smiled wider than he ever had today! His heart did little flutters and he tried to think of a funny, witty thing to open with.
Grinning, he poked at your face and joked,
“Hey, someone’s looking grumpy~!”
You weren’t thinking straight, all you could process was Leo’s annoying quip and tease. It was the little butterfly that landed on the heap of Jenga blocks that sent it all crumbling down. In other words, your final straw had snapped.
“What dark cloud decided to hover ov-“
Before Leo could finish another cheeky tease, you cut him off in a frustrated, loud voice, almost a yell.
“ Will you shut up, for ONCE?”
Leo’s smile quickly fell.
He looked small, and confused, and guilty.
It had escaped, without a thought. You were overwhelmed. You covered your eyes and ran your hands over your face in exasperation.
Leo quickly stuttered out an apology.
“I-I, I’m sorry. S-sorry.”
He quickly walked away, out of sight. He was probably the last person you wanted to see right now.
Once Leo made himself scarce, he let his mind wander. run a mile a minute.
Was that annoying?
‘For ONCE?’
….Was he…always annoying?
He loved teasing and prodding his brothers, sure. It was almost like a sport to him.
But you? No, he wanted you to admire him. He wanted to make you laugh and smile and he wanted to hear your rare obnoxious snort.
Maybe even try making your heart flutter. He tried so hard to fluster you, and yet you flustered him effortlessly. Just by looking at him and smiling.
And yet he let his false hope fall. He wanted your affection and love so much and yet he made himself look like an annoying jerk around you.
You never snapped at him like that.
Leo itched his neck, spacing out as he blankly stared at the wall. His lip wobbled at the thought of you, hating him. Please don’t hate him. Please please please.
You now stood alone, and the harshness of your own words just now hitting you.
No, nonono! That was so rude! That made it sound like you wanted him to shut it every time he started talking and joking around you! Which was the last thing you wanted. You could listen to him talk and laugh forever.
Rubbing the sleep and buzzing away from your eyes, you trudged around the lair- looking for Leo so you could apologize. You tried thinking of what to say, how to explain.
Really? You snapped because you were tired? Sounded like an excuse.
You rubbed the static off your arms as you tiredly swayed into the kitchen traincar. No, nobody was there. Dragging yourself into another hallway, you peered into their arcade filled with loud game machines and lights and lasers. It was a good thing you didn’t see Leo among the other three, because that was too much stimulation right now.
You stumbled into the entry of the dining car.
Then Leo’s room. Surprisingly, he wasn’t there.
Then Raph’s room.
Then Mikey’s.
Donnie’s.
The welding lab.
The bathroom.
Other bathroom.
Was he even in the lair? Did he leave…? Did you upset him that much? No, you never wanted to hurt Leo in any way.
Another yawn escaped for the 50th time. Your vision grew dark and blurry around the edges and sometimes little colorful spots would dance in edges of your eyes.
The projector room. Only splinter sat there on his recliner, dozing off.
The entrance again.
Why was being awake…so hard…?
Even though you thought it was a little disrespectful, anxiousness drove you to peer into splinter’s room.
No Leo.
You tripped on nothing as you wandered around pointlessly, disoriented.
Looking at the rooms you had already peered in through half open eyes, you spotted the tunnel entrance to a room you hadn’t thought of.
Dragging yourself into the car, you recognized the pipes and the washing and dryer machines. Stacks of towels and blankets and clothes. Chemicals and soaps and an ironing rack.
And Leo, with a miserable and contemplative face and wobbly expression, or lack of. He usually wore the flashiest grin, but now he looked null and void.
He sat among soft blankets and towels, but he didn’t hear you enter.
So you called out to him to grab his attention. Or mumbled.
“….Leo…hey…”
He looked up, flinching at hearing his name. How did you sneak up on him? That was his thing!
His bandana that covered his non-existent brows rose apologetically. Like he was about to say sorry again.
Hold on. Time out- just-
You couldn’t hold up anymore. Your legs buckled uselessly underneath and you crumpled to the ground. Ironically missing the plush piles of blankets and fabrics and instead hitting the cold tiles.
Leo jumped over to you, scrambling in a small panic and pulling you up.
“Hey, h-hey! Are you ok? What’s going on? Wake up!”
He shook you in his arms, hoping for an answer now.
You very slowly opened your eyes halfway and tried sitting up.
“….I-I’m…. So tired, Leo….and I’m sorry, I-I didn’t mean to yell. I didn’t- I-I’m…I’m so, just, stimulated, too, too much is going on. I’m sorry.”
Leo’s expression somehow grew even more miserable. But instead in empathy, watching tears of exhaustion forming at the corners of your eyes.
“Hey, it’s ok. I understand, ok? Relax…You need to take a nap.”
He gave you a small smile before he grabbed a warm blanket and tenderly wrapped it around you.
You tried mumbling incoherent objections and “I can do it myself”s, but he only shushed you and picked you up like a bride.
Effortlessly carrying you into his room, he gently placed down on the bed and sat next to you awkwardly.
“…you need a nap, so don’t even try escaping.”
He gave you a quick teasing glare, but it only lasted a moment before his expression softened and he brushed a couple strands away from your face.
his face grew warm and pinkish, which was strange for someone with green skin.
“…do you want anything? I-I’ll just let you sleep in peace-
But before he could stand up, you wrapped your arms around him with what strength you had left and latched on.
“…don’t, don’t go…please…”
You rubbing your face against his shell only served to weaken his knees and prevent him from going anywhere.
“…I-I- ok…”
He smiled and laid down next to you, leaving a reasonable space between you both.
But still pretty close. Pulling out his phone, he started playing some Jupiter Jim spin-off cartoon.
You scooted and shuffled closer, as if you couldn’t properly see the phone screen. But it was his warmth by his side you were after, because your eyes skimmed over the animation on his phone without a thought.
He glanced at you, then back at his phone. He couldn’t stop that stupid warmth from leaving his cheeks, but he didn’t exactly hate this, either. In fact, he had dreamed of a moment like this.
Except he wished you weren’t sleep deprived and on the brink of shutting down.
But it didn’t take long for you to be fast asleep, nestled right into his side.
He admired your peaceful face. Heck, you didn’t even have to be conscious to fluster him!
He turned his gaze back to his phone, watching the episode but still thinking about you.
And how tired he was.
When was the last time He slept?
Yawn.
His eyelids grew too heavy and he dropped his phone.
It was 20 minutes until Raph found you both, tucked in like lovey cats.
He cooed and tried not to squeal in adoration. He quickly whipped out his phone, silently taking a picture from every angle.
And once he was done, he left Leo’s car to tell everyone to quiet down.
And to entertain them with the cutest pictures ever.
hope you enjoyed! please PLEASE let me know if there are spelling grammar mistakes!
Leo x reader: Am I annoying?
Staples, comics and banana bread
-I’m a horrible writer.
-again, do NOT request nsfw! I will harvest your bones
-this is my self-indulgent blog. I’m only writing if I feel like it lol
-I will write angst, fluff, comfort. PG stuff only.
-I’m kinda obsessed with Rise Leo, so I’m mostly mainly writing for him. Sorry :V
-I don’t take super specific reader or oc requests. Strictly g/n reader that is the same age as the turtles. If I do future leo, than assume reader is about 30-40 ish. Vise versa.
