Fossil Fibers challenged us to do some spins based on characters from various media, a couple people were talking about Dimension 20 characters, and I was like !!!!

I decided that I wanted to do a spin based on the Junkmother. I grabbed some dark purples and pinks from my stash for her body, added some white silk for her robotic parts. Then added some gold silk to some yellows, greens, and this other purple as her treasures

Pre drafted and ready to go!

Made my singles, the plan was to do a chain ply. Because the fibers I used for the body did NOT want to draft consistently, I made a ply ball so the thin parts would behave during plying. And y'all, YALL.

So my sister wants to start sewing more, because

a. She’s 5′ 11″ and can never find pants long enough for her legs or shirts long enough for her arms.

b. She hates synthetic fibers as much as I do and it’s difficult to find natural fiber clothes that aren’t made of cotton

c. She’s a biologist and would physically fistfight microplastics if given half a chance

So her gift from mom and dad for her birthday was a sewing machine. Not a super expensive one but a good solid serviceable one.

And recently she asked “So where do I GET wool or linen and thread that isn’t polyester” and mom was like ‘go ask your sister’

And I, of course, crashed into the group text like “GET A PEN I HAVE WEBSITES FOR U” and honestly I’m thrilled about this

there's a lot of people that have done things in the past that were bad, because they weren't taught any better, or they were in an overall toxic situation where EVERYONE was shitty (like a cult), or they were just at an especially low point and hurt others for it.

you don't have to forgive them. you don't have to ever speak to them again. you can be angry with them until you die if you want.

but society cannot function if we don't allow them to move on. to change their behavior and fuck off somewhere else and build meaningful relationships without bothering you again. we need a path for people to change, or nothing ever will.
