Heard what happened in Charlottesville yesterday, and I'm at a loss. After all the progress this country has made, events like this are the most detrimental to our morale. I thought we cherished the idea of America being a melting pot of cultures and backgrounds! What's so disheartening is that we are fighting over the same thing that we've taken pride in. I'm trying to figure out a rational way to process this. The one thing I see our country needs right now is compassion. And a whole lot of it. I want to take initiative, I want to do my part. I am not the most knowledgable, but I'm willing to have a conversation with anyone. Doesn't matter who you are, let's chat. This doesn't need to be political, I just want to get to know someone. We want to be better. We want to succeed. It's not a crime to help our country succeed either. But...let's not lose our humanity in the process. P.S. Creating art is always a catharsis. As much as I want people to find my account and see my work, there's a big part of me that simply doesn't care.
