Upcoming Appearance: Boskone
I have my Boskone schedule! I’ll be at Boskone February 9-11, and I’ll be on panels, doing an autograph session, and hanging out at the Duck Prints Press table. When everything else is done for the night, I will probably be in the gaming room with my spouse.
My schedule of panels/autographing will be…
Deeper Than Blood: Fictional Found Families - Friday, 8:30pm
Writing the Fight Scene - Saturday, 11:30am
Representation of LGBTQ+ in Pop Culture - Saturday, 2:30pm
Autographing - Saturday, 4pm
Alternative Publishing - Sunday, 10am
I have definite opinions on all of these, and am very much looking forward to this slate!
If you’re planning to be at Boskone, please feel free to poke me on social media to let me know, or come find me at any of these sessions or the DPP table! Paperbacks of the first book of my Twinned trilogy should be available at the DPP table in the dealers’ room.

Other Projects
Many Hands: An Anthology of Polyamorous Erotica: stories for this collection are being edited, with progress ranging from “barely started” to “almost done.” We’re just beginning to discuss the books internal appearance, and are waiting on the final cover from the artist we’re working with. We expect to release the contributor list in the next few weeks and hope to crowdfund the anthology during the spring.
Untitled Best Of Anthologies: we’ll be doing two anthologies – one general imprint and one explicit imprint – featuring stories published to our Patreon and webpage before September 31, 2023. Most of the stories have been set, and we’ll beginning work on the cover and campaign features soon. We expect to launch this during the summer of 2024.
A Truth Universally Acknowledged: Queer Fanworks Inspired by Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice: recruitment for this anthology closed on January 15th, and we will be selecting contributors and notifying them by January 31st. We expect this campaign to be ready for launch in roughly a year (late 2024 or early 2025).
Untitled General Imprint Anthology: we’re in the very preliminary stages of discussing a theme for our next general imprint anthology, and we expect to open recruitment for it in the late spring, with an expected publication date of summer, 2025.
Scrap Metal Angel by Nicola Kapron: our next novella project, we are working on final editing, and once that’s done we’ll begin work on a cover, artwork, and other campaign aspects. We don’t yet have a time frame on pre-orders, but definitely during 2024, before the fall.
The Twinned Trilogy by Tris Lawrence: we still have a great deal of editing to complete on this project, but covers are done and the pre-launch page is on Kickstarter. We’re aiming for spring or summer 2024 for crowdfunding.
We have several other novellas and novels in the pipeline, but none that we’re ready to announce yet. Be on the look-out!
Want to always know the latest on what we’re working on? Want a say in what we work on next? Want behind-the-scenes access, more information, awesome extras, free stories, and more? Want exclusive extra merch for supporting our future campaigns? Best yet: want the joy of supporting queer independent publishing? If you said “yes” to any of these, there’s no time like today to become a backer of our Patreon!

newsletter!
I have created an author mailing list!
Thank you, folks, for the recommendation of Buttondown--it is stripped down and does exactly what I need and I will probably be happy to pay for it should I ever somehow get more than 100 subscribers. (I will be doing dances of glee should I get more than 100 subscribers).
So far I have subscribed to my own list and sent out a test email. I need to do some more template formatting, I know, and I will get there. Someday there will be a header image. For now, however, straight text with some formatting will have to do.
So, if anyone wants to subscribe to my fledgling newsletter, you should be able to do so via my Buttondown page.
I don't plan to post a newsletter more than monthly, unless I've got an imminent THING happening. There will probably be more posts in lead-up days to an indy release, or while a crowdfunding campaign for PHU print editions via DPP is happening. I'll send out a convention schedule if I'm on programming. But I don't want to spam anyone.
I did manage to get the form to subscribe embedded properly into my official Author Site. My next steps are getting it linked on other social media (and setting up a Carrd site because yes, I'm aware that's a thing I should have, too).
My big next step with the author page is getting a contact me form set up. Last one I tried just wasn't working out for me. I've got another one that I think will work better.
I may not be making words, but it's been a productive November at least.

Pre-Orders Now Open for “Many Drops Make a Stream” by Adrian Harley!
Tumblr media
Pre-orders for Adrian Harley’s debut sapphic fantasy novel Many Drops Make a Stream are now open!
A memory-stealing cult. The ever-watchful City of Eyes. Making small talk. Join Droplet as she faces all these horrors and more…
Vigilante shapeshifter Droplet has trained her entire life to take down those with more power than scruples, but she still makes mistakes. When a rescue mission goes wrong, a memory-stealing cult of blood mages escapes with kidnapped captives in tow. To save them, Droplet reluctantly teams up with the outgoing, tenacious Azera. Droplet knows better than to trust a human—she made that mistake once, and that person’s betrayal scattered her community across the known world—and she can tell Azera is hiding secrets behind her sunny smile. But if they can’t learn to work together, even Droplet’s own memories could be lost.
Many Drops Make a Stream, Adrian Harley’s debut novel, is the stand-alone first book in a series of related fantasy-mystery-heists featuring the shapeshifter Droplet and the friends and found family who work alongside her to fight the corrupt powers-that-be. Many Drops Make a Stream is rated general (adult) audiences and features shapeshifting shenanigans, a nascent f/f quarrelers-to-lovers pre-relationship, a wonderful extended cast of family and pseudo-family, necromancy and blood magic and spellwork (oh my!), and one (1) very angry goose.
For this campaign, we’re offering:

Yep, that’s right – for $44.24 US you can get every erotica short story and novelette that Duck Prints Press has published. That’s 30 stories!
And now is a great moment to catch up on our past releases, because starting in October, we will (mostly) no longer be publishing short stories to our webpage. Instead, all story debuts will be straight-to-Patreon (we may still do the occasional “re-publish” of a former Patreon-exclusive to the website). So, if you want to make sure you don’t miss out on all the short story greatness that Duck Prints Press has to offer, it’s a good time to start thinking about backing us monthly on Patreon! We’ll be sharing more information about these changes in October.

recent publications & stuff
So, it's been a big few weeks around here, and I haven't said a word... but... here's an update!
My original erotica short story Warm Anything You Want was published by Duck Prints Press in July. This story was originally published to the DPP Patreon, but is now available for general purchase. This story takes place within the Seven Lakes 'verse, and the three characters are part of the werewolf pack in that world.
In other publication news, the anthology Game On! (edited by Stephen Kotowych and Tony Pi) from Zombies Need Brains was officially released in July, with my story "Worldplay" as one of the stories selected for inclusion. This is big--it's a SFWA qualifying market. I'm very excited to be a part of the anthology, and it's been fun reading the other stories in it (I'm about halfway through so far). You can purchase directly from the ZNB store or find it on your favorite book site (search for the title + editor name).
And the final bit of news: my story "Annie" is one of the ones selected for the Rise anthology from Queer Sci Fi for their annual flash fic contest. Every year they host a contest for flash genre fiction with queer content, inspired by a single word. The stories that will be included in the anthology were announced today. The specific stories out of those that received honorable mention, judges choice, or are winners have yet to be announced. The anthology will be released in October.
Some teasers for both "Warm Anything You Want" and "Worldplay" are behind the cut! No teaser for "Annie" because it's too short for that. :D
"Warm Anything You Want"
Win kisses Crys’s head, then moves to do as directed, lining mugs up along the counter. “I need to remember to thank our boy for taking care of the snow.” “He always takes care of the snow.” Crys flips four pancakes from the skillet and pours four more. “I cook. He handles things outside the house. You sleep.” Win puts a hand on his furred chest where his robe gaps open. “I do more than sleep.” “You distract us.” “I take care of you.”
--------------------
"Worldplay"
My gaze narrows. “You have to be a member of the convention to be—” He pulls aside his flannel shirt to show his badge: Luke, he/him. “That good enough for you…?” His voice hangs on the question as he leans in, attention on my chest where my lanyard hangs. “Devon?” He snickers. “I like it.” Kal knocks the cards against the table with a sharp rap of his dark umber knuckles, straightening each deck before he sets them in position. He gives me a look across the table, brown eyes flatly unimpressed. He knows enough of my history that Luke’s words probably have him curious.  Me, I’m wary. If we have met, and it’s been a while, that’s for a reason. I haven’t exactly gone out of my way to find my own kind.

wayne brady is pansexual!!! 💗💛💙🥳
i’m pansexual. in doing my research, both with myself and just with the world, i couldn’t say if i was bisexual, because i had to really see what that was, especially because i really have not gotten a chance to act on anything. so, i came to pansexual because — and i know that i’m completely messing up the dictionary meaning — but to me, pan means being able to be attracted to anyone who identifies as gay, straight, bi, transsexual or non-binary. being able to be attracted across the board. and, i think, at least for me for right now, that is the proper place. i took pan to mean that not only can i be attracted to any of these people or types physically, but i could be attracted to the person that is there. i’ve dealt with the shame. a shame cake, just eating it every single day — and then worried about… people finding out. i’ve always had a wonderful community of friends who are in the lgbtq+ community, people that i’ve grown up with in shows, gays and lesbians, and, later in life, my trans relatives and my niece. i’ve always had that community, but i've always felt like a sham because i wasn’t being forthcoming with myself. i could speak out about black issues because i can’t hide that. and you can play at being an ally, but until the day that you can truly say, “this is who i am, and i wanna stand next to you,” that's not… i always wanted that day to come. i’ve told myself in the past, also, nobody needs to know my personal business. the world can absolutely go without knowing that wayne identifies as pan. but that gave me license to still live in the shadows and to be secretive. what does that feel like to actually not be shameful, to not feel like, “oh, i can’t be part of this conversation because i’m lying?” i had to break that behavior. i’m now trying to be the most wayne brady i can be. i don’t know about most, actually. i’m still coming together. but if i’m healthy, then i can go onstage at let’s make a deal and be the best wayne brady that everybody wants and expects. i can be the best dad that maile needs. i can be the best friend to mandie, the best son to my mother, and one day, the best partner to someone, because i’m doing this for me. not dating yet though! [laughs] i am single, but it’s not about being with someone right now. i’ve got some work to do still. then, wayne as a single, open-minded pansexual can make a decision and be free and open to other people.
i included more quotes from the article than just strictly pan related because it’s quite touching. good for him!!!! 🌈👏🥰

i'm curious to know the ratio of writers to readers on ao3 so here's a poll. when i say writer, i mean people who have published works on ao3, doesn't matter if it's once, or if it was ages ago, or if it's a regular occurrence. when i say reader, i mean people who have never published a work on ao3. the reader vote still counts if you don't have an account on ao3. if you're a writer who is also an active reader, please still click on the "writer" option!
please do boost this so it reaches a larger sample space!

upcoming conventions...
I have been quiet, but it has been for reasons.
Not only have I been in editing hell (second edition of Commit to the Kick, first edition of the first Seven Lakes book), I have also been preparing for convention hell. Heaven? Pick a term--I have three conventions three weekends in a row. One is simple. One is HUGE and I have to fly to get there, plus get all my merch there. The third I am helping run which requires... meetings.
But this means that I have appearances!
I will be with Duck Prints Press at Fandom Fest in Schenectady NY the weekend of August 26/27. We will have a presence in the Vendor Hall. We are doing a panel, currently at 5:30pm on the Saturday. You can see the schedule for Fandom Fest on their website. Our entry is listed under "Fanfiction" but we will be talking about navigating the path from Fic to Original work. If you're around, come see our merch and come talk to us at the panel!
I will be at Dragoncon in Atlanta over Labor Day weekend. I don't know yet if I will be on any programming items; those will be a last-minute add if I am. However, I am sharing space in the vendor space, and the second edition print copies of Commit to the Kick will be available there for the first time, along with information about the upcoming Kickstarter for books 2 & 3 of the Twinned trilogy. Please come see me if you're at Dragoncon.
And lastly, our local fan-run convention Albacon will be September 8-10 in Clifton Park, NY. I am again sharing some space with Duck Prints to run vending out of my hotel room (Dealer/Artist Row), and I will be on panels (don't know which ones yet). Albacon is a tiny local convention and we have both in-person and remote attendees and participants, and the fully hybrid model works SO WELL. If you decide to attend, via either way, please reach out and say hello. If you're remote, I'm in the Albacon discord so you can feel free to @ me there, too.
It's going to be a LOT and there are so many things to accomplish beforehand, so I've been run a bit ragged. Add in local social things, the Duck Prints meetup last weekend, my father's illness (and helping my mom), and well, day job... it's been chaos. *exhales* *deep breaths* I think my schedule calms down a bit in November, after Astronomicon at the end of October... (yes, another convention, I am going to be So Worn Out).
