Shanks, excitedly: To meet Buggy!

Rouge: and why are you dragging a bag filled with what I assume the family gold?

Shanks: I asked Buggy for a kiss and he said to give him a 100 for it.

Shanks: So I plan to ask him to marry, and I’m hoping that seeing the gold will make him agree this time.

Roger, not looking up from the paper: That’s the true Gol.D Passion! Go and pursue your love, son!

Shanks, carrying the bag of gold like it was nothing: I WILL!!!

Rouge: Do you think Silver’s son will accept our son’s affection this time?

Roger: We can only hope so my Love.

Roger: And if he doesn’t Shanks can still be his servant for the rest of his wretched existence, a slave to every whim that the blue boy has, fulfilling his every wish even if it killed him.

Lord God forgive me, but I think the big problem with One Piece fandom is its dependence on parallels.

Like, yeah, there are a lot of parallels in One Piece, obvious and not so obvious, but it feels like people are grabbing onto anything even if it sounds stupid.

I think this is especially true for the Roger Pirates and the Straw Hats. I understand why everyone draws parallels between them and it does happen, for example Gaban and Sanji, Rayleigh and Zoro

But this reaches the point of absurdity 😭😭😭

Yes, Luffy is similar to Roger, but they are different captains and they had different crews and different history

Even Roger's behavior in the last chapter makes it clear! But for some reason people decided to connect it with Luffy and Hancock (they also decided that Rayleigh/Shakky is a parallel to LuHan, lol) Yes, Roger, like Luffy, has no feelings for Gloriosa, who is in love with him, but he treats her clearly worse than Luffy treated Hancock. Roger hits on Shakky, something Luffy wouldn't do (especially the way Roger does it).

I want to read or write of a one shot story where Rayleigh seeks out Buggy for temporary protection.

Plot?

Even after Buggy’s truth of being part of the Roger pirates has been revealed Crocodile still refuses to acknowledge it or believes it. Saying that Buggy either made it up or was some kind of a low rank almost nonexistent, Even Mihawk has his own suspicions of Buggy’s worth among the dead Pirate king.

So when Rayleigh shows up, everyone freaking out because the dark king is here demanding to meet the captain. Crocodile is a little unnerved by the man’s presence and Mihawk is itching for a duel.

But when Buggy walks into the room and the two former Roger pirates eyes meet, Rayleigh demeanor changes from serious to all smiles while calling Buggy by an old nickname “Bugs” “Baby Blue” “Blue” “Captain giggles” “My boy” etc

Buggy can’t help but run and hug the old man after getting over his shock, and as the two speak of how much they missed the other the two warlord watch in shock.

And during Rayleigh’s stay he treats Buggy like he used to do when he was a child not caring that he is a captain because he is still his baby boy.

He lectures him about manners, how he should eat more and drink less alcohol, combing his hair while applying hair products before Buggy goes to bed, and during all that the two would talk and share stories of the past and plans of the future.

I just want a father and son story of these two interacting and having some found family moments!

If a story like this exists please tell me!

"Shanks vs. the Buggy Pirates"

Shanks shows up to the Cross Guild office thinking he's going to have a talk. You know, clear the air. Maybe even say something meaningful.

Unfortunately for him, he forgets one very important detail:

The Buggy Pirates are loyal, unhinged, and emotionally devastating when mildly provoked.

💥 They roast a Yonko without lifting a finger.

🎭 Buggy accidentally breaks hearts just by being himself.

🧤 A pair of gloves gets taken off and suddenly everyone is crying.

🥹 Trauma? Love? Pirate family values?? In this economy??

🤡 Buggy: “You guys are weird.”

Also Buggy’s crew: loves him more than life itself.

Sharp, sweet, chaotic, and a little sad around the edges. It’s found family but make it clown-coded.💔🎪
