regardless of what you think about Epic's accuracy i have to say Poseidon's criticism of Ody is DEVASTATINGLY accurate even in the original context.

at pretty much every point in this man's journey he could have gotten off so much easier if he was just worse.

Someone coming to call your bluff over being crazy? Send out men on a ship to play pirate and kill him before he lands.

Dragged to war over Helen? Kill Menelaus in the night and blame Palamedes.

Achilles doesn't wanna fight? Kidnap Patroclus and give him to the Trojans as a bit of encouragement.

Little Ajax rapes Cassandra and the men won't stone him? Kill him right there and dare them to raise a hand against the man who won the war.

Sirens tell you to go feed six men to Scylla? Tie them to oars and offer them to her.

Calypso says you can't kill her? Torture her until she lets you leave.

He's categorized as a trickster character and it really shows because he has rules. All good tricksters have their rules that they play by and Odysseus' seem to be

1. Penelope and Telemachus come first.

2. Do least harm.

3. Obey the rules set by the gods.

And in that order. He follows the rules of Xena and such set by the gods until he figures out a way to wrap up the war in one night. He avoids unnecessarily killing people even if it would be the 'honorable' thing for both of them until Penelope and Telemachus are put at risk, then everyone in the general vicinity has to die.

This is a long winded way of saying my poor man was born to be a loony toon and forced to live through the horrors. He would have been so much happier pulling some bugs bunny nonsense like getting Medusa's hair to fight over a mouse or tricking Asterius into running into a wall by painting it red.

You know what never made any sense to me? That trend of cis- CIS!!!- people making those "when a he/they has the biggest chongalongas you've ever seen and doesn't like to be called a girl" posts.

Like, famously, we can't control the size our boobs are? Very large breasts aren't easily bound? Binding is expensive and not always medically advisable? Respecting people's pronouns shouldn't rely on strict adherence to cis-passing norms? I thought all of these were like... established trans theory and yet I found many trans people defending these posts and saying they had a point. What point??? That people with big boobs get misgendered frequently if they aren't women???

Genuine friendly summer reminder for my fellow fat people.

We have more body than skinny people so we also contain more water and therefore need to drink more. 2 Litres is something skinny people need to drink we need more. I aim for 4 litres a day.

While any waterbased liquid is good try to not drink all 4 litres in coke or soda. I absolutley do recommend sport drinks or similar things. Fat people like us, or at least me, sweat a lot in this heat even without sport. Refill those electrolytes. Your body will thank you.

My go to drink at home is a 2 litre jug of water with just enough store bought raspberry or orange syrup that it has a taste thats not water.

Please stay hydrated in this heat and take care of your body. Its the only one you have.
