This is literally just minor tweaks and yet its a million times better than what Blizzard actually did to her

i have such a visceral love hate relationship with kiriko and i will be tweaking her lore, sooo lowkey rewrite/headcanons⬇️⬇️

kiriko is a character so contradictory to any prior overwatch lore it legitimately makes me crazy.

kiriko is the representative of a new generation of overwatch, she’s a little cocky and i’d say that makes her sorta naive. so i’m gonna lean into that a little.

when it comes to the shimada brothers she never actually trained alongside them now, rather she just watched them train with her mother in her youth. maybe she played along and they gave her some tips but beyond that their time with kiriko would be relatively brief before their falling out.

after the fall of the shimada clan an emboldened kiriko is determined to fill in their shoes but she is young and inexperienced and unfortunately (unearned) shimada street credit does not stop her from getting herself humbled by an ass kicking.

i havent worked out the details fully but eventually she befriends her fox which is now conscious hard light AI instead of some sort of magic. (the shimadas dragons are explained as hardlight so why not just extend that to kiriko.)

so she gets to work, trains hard and eventually comes to be the kiriko we see in her cinematic. but yeah thats how i’d personally fix up kiriko to fit into the lore a little better 🫡🫡

any issues in have with her beyond her writing are mostly on blizzard for the favoritism junk but thats not the characters fault

Personally I only ask for Mercy if we're losing hard and I feel like the heals are garbage from both of us. Mercy is the healer I'm best at but if they won't switch then it is what it is

People that throw because they refuse to play well when they're not getting their way are fuckin weird

But also 100% you have to be aware that sometimes you suck just as much as anyone else and maybe it IS you that needs to switch off ("you" general, not "you" specifically op) we all have off games and we all have that one map that our mains aren't strong on. Learn to accept you're not always good and that its a team game not a "let me be this character or I'll throw the match to spite you" game

Stupid rant but if you ask me if you can have Mercy be nice about it. Also no I won't be pocketing your fuckass boyfriend it's not my fault he can't do anything without constant heals I have an entire team to attend to.

Anyway here's a guide for asking someone if they can switch: "hey is it ok if you switch so I can play that character?" "Can you switch I don't think that character is working" "I wanna play a character that isn't good on a team with the character you're on can you switch?" And when they don't switch you don't go and pick a character that doesn't work with them because that's fucking childish and I'm not switching in quick play IDC about winning in qp.

This is why people don't wanna play overwatch. The community is so weird

He was done dirty with the unfinished vibe of act 3 and his ending but what we did get is still such a soft romantic wonder of a man 🥺

my top fave wyll details that cause me to get cramps:

- the ravengards dont actually come from money so the transition into the city would have been difficult, wyll only really mentions playing with other kids when he was assigned a post in the lower city (or playing pretend by himself), all of this implying he didnt really have friends growing up

- how he threw up in the bushes from drinking too much wine when he would have been 13 years old (and as a 24 year old is constantly seen w a chalice in his hand)

- hes riddled with obsessive anxiety if he kills karlach and thinks he did something wrong, but the same thing happens anyways if he lets her live (obsessively worries about the tieflings being killed)

- says shit like "drown him in his own blood" but dances for you like a courting bird and loves clowns (hes just as crazy as the other companions and NOBODY gives him enough credit for this!!!!!!!)
