I don't need Auror Moody's approval to be effective or successful at my work, Mister Malfoy. Florence is his trainee, and he's incredibly proud of her progress under his guidance, as he was with mine when he trained me.

Slughorn claims his personal store of it went missing. But I still think you should follow your instincts. Look at the people in the N.E.W.T. level potions classes, see if anyone sticks out as suspicious. 

Thanks, Wendy. I don’t know what I was thinking getting her involved in any of this in the first place. I don’t think they’d punish her for it. Me maybe, but Crouch has been looking for something to get me in trouble for years. There’s hardly a case for it, though, so there’s not much he could do. I’ll be fine.

I'll ask Slughorn if any of the necessary ingredients are missing from his stores... But Veritaserum takes a full lunar cycle to brew properly and you need at least an NEWT level of potions experience to brew it, which makes this even more suspicious to me. Whoever brewed this must have been working on it before school was in session, and they need to have some experience with complex potion brewing. 

I'll make sure to tell anyone that asks that it's just a rumor. Just be careful, please. I don't want to see either one of you face consequences for this, and it's impossible to keep a secret here. 

Incredibly suspicious. I’d like to start doing a sweep of the staff and students as soon as possible, see if anyone in particular had a motive to do something like this. 

I… don’t know. Maybe. Trainee-mentor relationships aren’t really permitted for obvious reasons, but we were under the effects of a potion, so I’m not sure where that puts us. Maybe if anyone asks you about it say it was just Skeeter stirring up trouble. I don’t want Florence getting into trouble, especially not so close to the end of her training.

I’m not sure yet. It’s a perfect prank, but also the perfect opportunity to get information from someone. And dosing everyone makes it look far more like a prank than anything more suspicious. I find it a little curious that Malfoy was unaffected.

If you mean has the potion worn off, then yes. But there’s a hoard of panicky students running about now, so “safe” probably isn’t an accurate word to describe the school at the moment.
