“I’ll race you.” Genji pipes up, taking a bite out of the apple in his hand. Depending on the race, he could most certainly win.

“It would be a simple matter to get you your own, you know. I will be glad to retrieve them for you, if you allow me to have half of what I bring.” Genji bargains, a pleased smile on his features. His brother was just as uptight as ever. His brother could probably feel the shit eating grin on Genji’s face by now.

“I do not care for your sweets,” Hanzo replied off-handedly, coming to a halt near the tree. It was a subconscious lie, for if any had offered him, he would not have refused them. Hanzo frowned as he looked up at his younger brother, the disapproval in his frown much like their father’s. He did not voice his disapproval, however, and just seated himself on his knees, his back turned towards the tree. After a moment of silence, he added in a grumble under his breath: “I know you would not share them anyway.”

The young man grinned slyly, peeking down at Hanzo from the rooftop. He would get him this time. He may or may not be scolded, may or may not end up with an arrow in an ass cheek as he attempted to flee; but he would sneak up on him properly this time.

Genji couldn’t help but stare. He felt captivated, if anything, by the ‘wings’ this woman had. They were bright and uplifting. The ninja smiled at her from his spot on the rooftop. Whether she saw or not didn’t matter. 

Maybe he should give her a flower.
