I had originally intended to explore Margaret’s relationship with her security officer, Trevor, more deeply throughout this chapter, but as often happens in writing, the story took on a life of its own. So far, I’ve only alluded to their connection briefly in Part 2, though their bond has been quietly developing in the background. As you can imagine (spoiler), their story won’t end happily, but I do plan to offer more glimpses into their relationship in the second half of the chapter. Margaret, in her search for a sense of connection and stability in Wessex, found unexpected comfort in Trevor. Over time, their closeness grew into something deeper. The relationship carries immense risk: Margaret resides in a grace-and-favor home granted by the Queen, and if the affair becomes public, it could cost her everything.

Windslar Palace Part 4: West Wing/King Joseph IV's Wing Continued

As the largest section of the palace, this wing houses many of the most important rooms used by the Royal Family of Windenburg. The rooms were originally built by King Joseph IV and later altered and refurnished by the monarchs who followed him.

The Queen’s Apartments were first designed under King Joseph IV, complete with ornate wallpaper and finely crafted furniture. The Queen’s bed was especially grand, with a tall canopy and golden railing. For many years, the layout remained unchanged. Earlier queens, such as Odette and Josephine, did not actually use the Queen’s Bedchamber, preferring instead to live in more private rooms within the King Edmund IX wing. But when Queen Mary II arrived in 1822, she wanted nothing to do with the apartments once used by her mother. Choosing a less formal approach, she had the Queen’s Apartments completely redesigned, giving them a lighter, more personal character.

Connected to the Queen’s Antechamber is the Queen’s Small Salon, decorated with chinoiserie murals. This room was once used as the Queen’s Audience Chamber, but Mary turned it into a sitting room where she welcomed close friends and family. She often played cards, smoked, and gambled here in the company of her ladies-in-waiting.

The Queen’s Dressing Room is where Mary was dressed daily by her maids and ladies-in-waiting. The walls are covered in yellow chinoiserie wallpaper, and the ceiling, dating from the 1730s, which has been preserved. A portait of her mother, Caroline Sophie, given to Mary in the 1830s after their reconciliation, hangs here. The room also includes furnishings that once belonged to Sophie of Dresden, who lived in the same apartments nearly 90 years earlier.

The Queen’s Bedchamber saw the most dramatic changes. While the original 1730s ceiling was kept, the walls were redone in a rich blue damask, and Mary purchased entirely new furnishings. She added a writing desk that had once belonged to her grandmother, Queen Odette. Only her family, closest friends, and trusted servants were allowed inside. Hidden in one corner is a discreet door leading to the Queen’s boudoir and her private bathroom.

Just behind the Queen’s Bedchamber lies the Queen’s Boudoir, accessed through a concealed door. Originally created for Queen Sophie as a retreat from court life, the room later fell out of use until Queen Mary restored it. She turned it into a music room where she and her daughters would play and sing together.

The Queen’s Large Salon, once the Queen’s Presence Chamber, was transformed into a light and airy room. The original wood paneling was stained a pale blue, and the ceiling was repainted. The walls now display paintings from the Royal Collection, many of which were first purchased by Sophie of Dresden. Queen Mary used the salon as a family space, often enjoying tea with her children and grandchildren.

One of the most important rooms was the Queen’s Study. It served as her personal office, where she received daily red boxes containing state documents and political briefings. Here, the Queen conducted her correspondence and kept her journals, which spanned from the 1810s until her death in 1885.

The Hall of Heroes, built by King Joseph IV, connects the King’s and Queen’s Apartments. Its walls are lined with paintings of ancient Greek heroes, reflecting the king’s passion for mythology. Before the creation of the State Dining Room, the hall occasionally served as a banquet space.

The King’s Apartments remain largely as they were in the 1750s, with only minor updates by Kings Edmund VIII and IX. King Edmund IX rarely slept in his bedchamber, preferring Queen Odette’s private apartments. The rooms were used by later monarchs like George I, Edmund X, and Edmund XI, though they saw little use during Queen Mary’s reign. Her husband, Prince Charles, 10th Earl of Statford, occasionally used the audience chamber and made the council chamber his private study.

The State Dining Room was once a concert hall before King Edmund X converted it into a dining space in 1805. Since then, it has been used for more intimate functions, typically hosting between 30 and 60 guests.

Lastly, the Gold Ballroom was added by King Joseph IV, who wanted a new, elegant venue for grand receptions and balls. Rather than remodel the older ballroom in the King James Wing, he commissioned a new one altogether. Since then, it has remained the centerpiece of court celebrations and royal gatherings.

Hello hello! 

I am so happy to finally reveal the special set I’ve been working on with the incredibly talented MADLEN ! 

We’ve been working both in our specific domain, so you will have build buy elements from me, and clothes from him ! 

It’s been a while since I wanted to create a specific set inspired by this TVshow very dear to my heart, and I’m so happy to finally make it, and even more now because it comes with lovely outfits straight out of the show! 

I’ve decided to focus on the kitchen as it’s the most iconic room of the show and it’s also the most versatile items that you will be able to use in your everyday builds! I’ve added a few of my favorite clutters from it like the face vase and blueish wine glasses but also the famous English trifle from Rachel! Don’t worry, it also comes with edible swatches! 

I’ve managed to get the tilted counter version to snap perfectly with kitchen counters and where you can place classical appliances and sinks. It opens more possibilities for my future kitchens! But as the game always has it's own fun, you will have to delete the wall behind the tilted counter to place it perfectly. Otherwise, it will place it with an offset.

Some items share the same textures so make sure to have the packages finishing by "texture" in your mod folder :)

[TS4 CC] ANACHROSIMS CARVED BOISERIE PANELS

Hello friends!! I bring to you the first set of several of this weekend.

Here are some boiserie panels for you! 80 swatches– though the first main batch of swatches are with a higher contrast, and the last bit are lower contrast to give the pastel colors a lighter feel.

These come in all three wall heights for all swatches, with normal and specular maps! These were playtested by yours truly as well.

I actively dislike Elizabeth.

I don't know what she hopes to gain by sidelining Richard but even she must see that it could never work. He's the heir, and all she will be after the passing of her husband is (forgive my language) - an irrelevant Dowager Queen and mother of the spare. - And the latter just for a short time until Richard has kids of his own.

I hope he doesn't fall for the girl she's thrust his way, if only to throw a wrench in all her scheming😅

Haha, I love how passionately you feel about this! Elizabeth definitely has her own agenda, and you’re right, sidelining Richard isn’t as easy as she thinks it’ll be.

If Elizabeth heard you say that, she’d smile politely and then double down twice as hard 😅 She’s not planning on fading quietly into the background, Dowager title or not.
