I know that its not actually that hard to learn to draw. or paint. or cook. or learn to speak a new language. or code. or any of a myriad of other possible skills or hobbies. but at some point you need to pick some single digit number of those ten thousand things that anyone can do, and to everything else say "i have other priorities" because otherwise you will never do any of them.

and so i think when people say "i wish i could..." they usually don't believe that they couldn't do it if they really tried, or even that they've overestimated the difficulty of doing so. I think what they're really wishing for is that time and energy were not finite quantities and that everything that was worth doing could also be done. because it's cosmically unfair that that isn't so.

Considering the recent targeted terminations against blogs run by transfems in the last couple of days (angel-athetos, fungalfaggot, coyote-roadkill, hound-mother, corpse-of-omelas-ageplayer and my previous blog, zebrabyopn3), some close friends and myself worked on a google form where users can make submissions for their terminated blogs. Too many of us have lost our blogs and everything in them, yet there's no existing record of blogs that have been terminated, so we want to change that. If you're not a transfem you can also answer, as we want data about all deleted blogs in general, like: the name of the banned blog, date of termination, and if there was a reason given or warning for the deletion (or not)

The form consists of 8 questions and takes around 3-5 minutes to answer. We'd appreciate sharing this with anyone that has been unfairly terminated, so we can create a record, so those blogs and their names can be remembered

it’s so funny when authors try to write rural settings but they didn’t even like google it. saga and i are reading through a book rn set in the extremely rural south & the main character is a poor farmer and all the popular kids hate her and also it’s emphasized that the popular kids are all afraid of dirt and animals. one of the Cheerleaders TM screams in terror mud gets on her “nice abercrombie jeans.” which is wild to me bc speaking as someone who went to a rural high school (i was in the Future Farmers of America no less), the popular kids ARE the farmers. the “popular girls” would be going to bonfires in the woods on their 4wheelers.

also the main character specifically wishes she had a pair of jeans but she doesn’t have any jeans, because her family is farmers. Listen

i'm defending public schools with my life not because I had a good experience in them but because I refuse to let politicians convince people we need a society where school is exclusive to rich kids.

let me tell you something. the public school in my (low income) hometown was fucking TERRIBLE once you got past early elementary to the point where teachers would tell parents to get their kids out (this is why I kept changing schools). however, years later, that school merged with a public school in another town and simply having more resources made it so much better it now has a normal if not positive reputation. so yeah there are in fact public schools in a terrible situation. but if you look at them and say "this is why we should get rid of public schools and replace them with private schools" you're insane.

and since this is tumblr and no one has critical thinking skills, allow me to clarify this is not an endorsement of current educational standards and regulations in public schools, or support for bullying (?)
